Chapter 51: The prophecy.

If I had known just how hard making a prophecy was, I wouldn't have bothered with it. Even now, after a few hours of going at it, I was positively clueless on how to write it.

I could, of course, just say what is going to happen... But that just doesn't feel right; A prophecy is supposed to have multiple interpretations, to bring about doubts and confusion! It needs to be mysterious and sound like it!

At least I had already put down my basic principle of what a prophecy needs; It is a goal. Every prophecy has a goal, since to not have one is to make it pointless. The goal I had in mind was to just solidify the system, and my influence along with it, and to start producing legends for centuries down the line; Legends would make people attribute the arrival of the system with great power, and with that, nobody would want to get rid of it.

But how do I achieve that goal?

I have multiple options; I could create a classic 'End of the World' prophecy... but that would be too big. I could make it a simple battle between good and evil, a battle of light and darkness... but that would start a whole bunch of stuff that I don't want to happen.

Maybe I could take care of two birds with one stone? I know that the church of Terse would come back to get me, and with greater force too. I was only able to get rid of that first Mage using an absurd amount of mind runes... I don't know what I would do against a full army of them; Even if that seems unlikely.

Alright, so, a battle against the church of Terse. I need to frame that correctly though... I can't just name Terse directly, that would be a direct slight against him; And as much as I like to consider myself as one, I'm no God. I doubt I'd be able to beat any God in a confrontation.

Okay, so a goal of the prophecy will be to Frame the Church of Terse as 'Evil' and then get rid of it. The other goal will be to create long-standing stories and solidify my presence. And another, much less important, goal. It's to get rid of that cat and it's human... I can tell that they're both going to get to me soon.

Now, to write it I need to use metaphors and misdirections; Better to let people confuse themselves until the entire thing comes to pass.

Hmm... maybe... yes. I have it! I just need to write it all down, and now I can send it out! I wonder how people will react to my way of announcing the First 'Big' prophecy...

POV: 3rd Person

All of a sudden, in towns and cities all around the world, three peculiar individuals appeared. The three were women, they looked old enough to have been able to tell you how it looked to see stars appear in the night sky. People couldn't help but stare at them, the air the old ladies gave off was strangely suffocating and ancient.

And then... the sky split. Cracks appeared everywhere, looking more like flat images that would always look the same no matter how you looked at them. From the cracks, light spilled out and illuminated the world in a strange sickly green color.

The three ladies spoke, their audience somehow not panicking at the sky's torment.

All over the world, a chorus of voice rang out; It sounded like every man, every woman, everything that had ever lived.

"Prepare. Lor speaks, and his system watches. We, the fates of Lor, bring the first prophecy of change."

And then, the voices really spoke. It was older than time, grander than space.

"Of the greatest mountains, to the smallest forest... Those of space shall drop their crown... Four shall join together to take the crown... The first of false form and control, The second of slavery to control, The third of space, The fourth of leader... Two of the group, sent away from Lor's domain... The rest lacking the knowledge of true space... Time is all to rely on, Time is in change... To escape from the shackles of us three, the first will need to find a truer form... Beware those of the Divine without compassion."

"Beware those who fight against the system's creator; Beware those who fight the newest God."

A silent moment passed... The sky knit itself back together, and the three old ladies disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Chaos broke out once more. This time, the Gods too were caught in it.

POV: Certe

Everything was going so well... why did this happen? I was currently standing with my slave in a random place outside the dungeon, But I couldn't care less about that.

No, I don't think I can do anything right now.

I had just arrived at the end of that freaking floor, at the same time as Jerome, and there it was... the core of the dungeon was right in front of us, it had looked beautiful. But then a gigantic pulse of Mana came from the core, and three old ladies appeared in front of us. I then heard them speak a prophecy. It was horrifying.

I knew from the second they had started speaking that I would be involved in it somehow. And I was right. If the line 'Time is all to rely on, Time is in change' didn't talk about me, then I would call bullshit. But the scariest for me was the fact that I would need to find a 'Truer' form to break free from the prophecy. It didn't say my true form, no, it said a truer form; Whatever form it was... it wouldn't be my non-physical one.

What should I do?
