Chapter 50: The Fates brought forth.

I had to get the human left in my dungeon out. It was simply too distracting to constantly check on him, But I couldn't get him out of there without getting that freaky cat on my bad side.

Yes; The cat. It was made out of a soul I had plucked from the air and a body of my own making, but the soul was obviously way more intelligent than I had first thought. It could reason and it could enjoy things, it could kill me without a second thought.

And so, I had to find a way to get both of them out together without it impacting me too much. I could just kill them... but no. I had a better idea.

I had gotten control over Fate, I should do something with it.

And so I started preparations for a prophecy. I could just make one and get the two out of my dungeon, but that wouldn't be good enough. I needed to make a story out of it! I could do anything... so why not do anything? I had so many ideas that I could only barely restrain myself!

Alright, I need to calm down and get my thoughts in order. I couldn't really do anything for a prophecy, I need a goal for it; Because a prophecy without a big goal to it just doesn't feel the same.

Maybe I could get rid of that church that keeps annoying me? I know that they will probably send some more soldiers as soon as they recover from the system appearing; They might even try to use it against me! Okay, yep, this is the end goal of the prophecy.

With the goal in place, I need to prepare a few challenges for the 'chosen ones' to go through along the way. I couldn't just let them go and do everything without some character development first after all. For the challenges, I need things that are hard to do; Not impossible, mind you, but just hard enough that it would be considered madness to even try to go through them.

I spent some time just going through ideas, not really settling on anything before arriving at the perfect one. A forest; Not a normal one, but one that would make you question your own sanity. It would also be a great way to make multiple persons work with the two annoyances I have here; Their experiences with non-Euclidean space would be perfect for it.

And so I quickly used my connection to the system to find an appropriate forest of decent size that could be twisted to fit my desires. The one I found seemed to be relatively far from any city or village and so I quickly went to work.

Firstly, a thick fog obscures vision; A classic of any scary forest. Secondly, a large field of Mind-Runes right at the edge of the forest would make any groups entering the area blink at the same time. Then, when everybody blinked, they would get transported to a random spot inside the forest that wasn't too close to the middle. That way, they have no way of even trying to get a good sense of direction.

I also quickly replaced every tree in the forest with old and twisted ones, leaves almost all gone if not blackened to a crisp.

I made quick use of my space affinity to stretch and compress distances and added ways to see myself from behind. I put in random portals that would bring you to other parts of the forest and abused mind-breaking logic to ensure that almost nobody could create a map of the place.

Right, that should be good enough of a challenge; Now, let's make a prophecy!

I quickly shifted my view to my tapestry, it strangely looked stronger than before... I ignored that fact and went to work, a strange idea of involving time suddenly appearing in my head.

I already knew of the perfect way to bring the prophecy to everyone.

POV: 3rd Person

The meeting room of the gods looked as it always did, chaotic. Gods of all kinds were arguing and fighting, the usual group of grass-blade gods all fighting one another over which blade of grass was the best.

And yet, none of them could have predicted what would happen... How could they have?

The metaphorical doors to the room abruptly opened, a loud noise being produced from them. Everybody went quiet at the appearance of Antius, the god of messengers.

His boots sounded loud and clear on the clean stone tiles of the floor. It was almost as if the air itself was holding its breath... And then suddenly, Antius spoke.

"Everyone," He began in a grave voice, "Reltiac has disappeared. His strings are burnt and seem to be able to fall apart at any moment."

A moment of silence passed; The gods in the room were too shocked to say anything.

And then chaos broke out.
