‘Quite a few improvements can be made,’ thought Gorn with some excitement. ‘If I can bring my talent from low to epic, then absorbing energy from monster cores could prove to be a worthwhile endeavor…’

Alas, his budget was basically zero, making some things impossible for the time being. Apparently, everything had to be made one step at a time.

‘I reached this level of power in a relatively short time, however, things seem to slow down considerably from this point.’

And so it was. Despite that, if he had enough time, there was still plenty of room to grow. Things seemed to have reached a stable point with the discovery of the floating island. Even so, nothing was set in stone, changes, and variables could appear at any time.

‘I wonder what the future awaits…’ with all the current advantages, Gorn still felt a sense of danger, and uncertainty. Sighing, he decided not to dwell too much on the negative aspects.

Turning around, he looked at the twins. ‘I think it would be a good idea to always have some gold available in case I need to buy something more specific to a certain situation.’ He was thinking about the healing potions. Needing them, and not having sufficient funds to purchase them, would be pretty stupid.

Currently, he was able to make fifteen thousand gold every ten hours. Not that much, considering that there were items in the shop that required fifty millions gold to buy. To reach such a high amount would require around four years of grinding.

“If you want to sleep, you can come sit on the bed, there is plenty of room for all three of us,” said Mara, seeing that he was looking their way.

Gorn glanced at Nora for a moment. She was looking towards another direction, but she didn’t look to be bothered by what Mara said.

Since they weren’t against it, Gorn did not refuse. “Alright.” Getting up from the chair, he came in front of the bed, then sat in the middle, right between the twins. It wasn’t a bad feeling. Putting his hands behind his head, Gorn closed his eyes.

Time flew by, and eventually, morning came. The twins were sleeping with their head on his chest, and their legs on his legs. Basically, half of their bodies were on top of him.

Gorn was the first one to wake up. Seeing the scene, he grinned. Not wanting to wake them up, he waited patiently, enjoying the moment. After some time, the girls woke up. Blushing, they got up, acting like nothing strange happened.

“When you are ready, we can go explore the island a little. Just tell your mother that we are going,” said Gorn, looking towards Mara.

Mara was slowly arranging her hair. Hearing his words, she hastened the process, then quickly left the cabin to inform Elisa. Gorn didn’t even manage to properly stretch his body, that Mara was already back. Excited, she said: “I told her, we can go now.” The excitement could be seen from a mile away.

Not wanting to ruin her good mood, Gorn decided to leave right away. “Let’s go then.”

Nora wanted to go as well, but she felt rather reluctant to say it out-loud. Lowering her head, she expected them to leave without her. Just thinking about such a thing made her chest hurt. ‘Did Mara feel the same way?’ thinking of the past few times when she left alone with Gorn, without taking her sister as well, made her feel remorseful.

“What are you doing? Quickly come here!” Mara’s voice soon reached her ears. Looking up, she saw her sister, and Gorn, waiting for her with an extended arm.

At that moment, a beautiful smile blossomed on her face. With quick steps, she came by their side. Gorn grabbed the girls in his embrace, and the three of them disappeared from the wooden cabin.
