Shadow parasite

Chapter 82: New things

His ability to teleport was as convenient as ever. In just a ‘blink’ of an eye, the three of them were half a kilometer up into the air. Using the shadow ability, Gorn made a solid platform, extending a few meters around, starting from his feet. In addition to that, a chair made its appearance as well.

Sitting down, he teleported a few more times. Now, they were a few kilometers up into the skies, and approximately in the middle of the floating islands. From up there, one could easily make a big picture out of a large, wide area.

“The weather is nice, so take your time to look around. After you are done memorizing the landscape in its whole, we can go explore in more detail some locations,” said Gorn. Having a general idea of the place, was, in his opinion, a good start to make a map.

Nora travelled a few extra times together with him, so her fear of heights was a lot less than what it used to be. The same point, however, could not be told about Mara. The first thing she did was to sit on his lap while tightly grabbing onto his legs.

It took her a few moments to realize that what she did was not exactly appropriate. Feeling something hard slamming against her ass was a good reminder of that. Gorn could make a few extra chairs, but why would he do that, right?

Grabbing Mara by the waist, he moved her body slightly to the side. She jolted slightly the moment his hands touched her. With a face red as a tomato, she didn’t dare make eye contact with anyone.

Gorn tapped his right thigh, which was now free, signaling for Nora to take a seat as well. After a little hesitation, she came over without saying a word. After she sat on his leg, the chair under them grew a few additional meters in height, while the platform disappeared completely, allowing for a better look.

Holding the twins by their slim waist, he waited patiently. The situation was somewhat awkward at first, but it got better with each passing minute.

Right beneath them was a decent sized lake with deep blue water that made it impossible to see what was deep down. Gorn wasn’t sure if the water was mixed with other substances, but one thing was clear, that wasn’t ordinary water. Alongside the air of mystery that it exuded, there was something more, a feeling that was hard to describe.

Drifting his eyes away from the water, Gorn analyzed the forest until his gaze came across a rocky area. There were present a multitude of boulders of various sizes. Nothing abnormal, except the fact that most of the rocks were covered in small, weird looking trees that he didn’t see before. While he had no idea about this kind of fauna, the scene was very beautiful, and unique.

Even further away, some gigantic, multicolored mushrooms could be spotted. Some of them were as high as trees, with exceptional shapes. The colors were very intense, and varied greatly. The area covered by these mushrooms was quite wide, however, it was a little too far away to take a good look at them.

‘How fascinating…’ thought Gorn. The place was a real treasure for someone who liked to explore, and study nature. Currently, he wasn’t that interested in researching unknown things, however, Nora was. Her eyes were sparkling with excitement, and eagerness. With just a glance at her, one could easily tell that she wanted to put her hands on everything and carefully analyze every little aspect of the unknown fauna.
