Luffy, still atop the scaffold, seemed more confused than concerned. "I don't care who she is. No one's going to make me do anything I don't want to," he declared loudly, his voice carrying across the square.

Alvida, undeterred by the police presence, continued to address the crowd. "You see? This is the power of beauty. Even the law is hesitant to touch me."

At this time, in the fountain close by, an explosion occurred. "Ah, a terrorist attack!" people yelled as the police officers nearby were sent flying due to the explosion. A big chunk of the fountain started to fly towards Alvida, and people watched in absolute horror. But to everyone's shock, the big slab of the fountain slipped right off Alvida's skin. Coby, always ready, initiated System Analysis to copy Alvida's skill. It was one of the most overpowered abilities in the series, and he wanted it. A system message flashed in his mind:

[Skill Scan initiated on 'Sube Sube no Mi'. Analysis in progress… Due to its singular ability nature, this skill can be directly copied. However, its comprehensive defensive and evasion capabilities make it a significantly overpowered ability. As such, the estimated cost for acquisition is 65,000 SP. Please confirm if you wish to proceed with the Skill Scan and acquisition.]

Looking at the price, Coby cursed in his mind, but he also found it fair. He would get the main ability of a Devil Fruit without any side effects. 65,000 SP was a fair price, but he lacked it nonetheless.

People looked at Alvida in shock. "What happened to the fountain? It went right past her!!"

Luffy, too, was surprised. "What was that?" he asked in shock.

At this time, a cloaked man appeared and said, "Pardon the spectacle, but her smooth, silky skin can never be marred. You don't need to worry."

Alvida, looking at Luffy, finally said, "I am the exquisite Lady Alvida."

Luffy looked around, "Alvida, where is she?"

Alvida pointed at herself, "I am here, you fool. Right here!"

Luffy was surprised, "Really? You look a little different."

Alvida got rid of her cloak and showed her beauty to everyone present. She wore a bikini top and a skirt that accentuated her now flawless figure. "Heh heh, nice of you to notice! I ate the Devil Fruit and transformed! I now have the Slip-Slip Fruit! Now my beautiful skin cannot be marred by any attack. Sadly, my beauty was barely enhanced. However, as you said, I do look a bit different! My freckles are gone!!"

Luffy, gazing at Alvida with an incredulous expression, waved his hand dismissively. "Well, that's quite a change," he said, memories of the old, fat, and ugly Alvida he once knew flooding his mind. The contrast was stark, almost unbelievable.

Alvida, standing confidently, her beauty undeniable, continued, "But if you're going to become my man, there's someone you must defeat first. We teamed up in order to find you. And here he is!" At her signal, the previously cloaked figure threw off his cover to reveal none other than Buggy.

Buggy stepped forward, his eyes blazing with a mix of anger and anticipation. "Since the day you defeated me, I've dreamed of nothing but killing you. That's what gave me the strength to make it back to my crew. It was an epic adventure!" he exclaimed, turning to his crew in a brief moment of anger. "What are you making me say!"

From their vantage point, Coby and Nami watched the unfolding drama. Coby's amusement was clear; the corners of his eyes crinkled with a smile as he observed the old enemies reuniting. Nami, though initially tense, couldn't help but be drawn into the spectacle.

Coby's attention shifted between the two pirates. "Looks like Luffy's got quite the reunion going on," he mused aloud, his voice light and teasing. Nami nodded, her own curiosity piqued by the dramatic encounters.

From out of nowhere, Cabaji, Buggy's swordsclown, appeared and placed stocks on Luffy. With his head and hands trapped, Luffy looked around, a hint of concern in his usual carefree demeanor.

"Oh no." As Nami tensed, ready to spring into action, Coby's firm hold on her waist guided her back onto his lap. "Let's watch," he said calmly.

Nami turned to Coby, concern etching her features. "They are going to execute him," she stated, her voice tinged with worry.

Coby raised his left arm, revealing the absence of his hand. "Don't worry. If anything happens to Luffy, I will save him." His hand, detached and covertly positioned near the platform, was ready for any unexpected turn of events. Coby was not one to take chances when it came to his crew.

Nami, though still anxious, settled back into Coby's embrace, her eyes fixed on the unfolding scene. However, her worry resurfaced as she sensed a change in the atmosphere. "Coby, a big storm is coming," she said, feeling the shifting air pressure.

Coby nodded, recalling this detail from the anime. 'Right, Dragon's storm,' he thought. "Don't worry, we will make it to the ship," he reassured her.

Nami trusted Coby but remained on edge as they watched the Buggy Pirates take control of the square, ushering people away. Buggy stood triumphantly, announcing, "Now we will have your public execution, Straw Hat Luffy. What an honor, you will die on the same spot where the Pirate King had died."

Meanwhile, Zoro, Usopp, and Sanji, the latter two carrying a hefty fish between them, arrived near Coby and Nami. They were shocked to see Luffy trapped in the stocks. "That idiot!" Zoro exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice.

Coby called out to them, "Yo." They turned to see him leisurely sitting with Nami on his lap. Zoro, perplexed, questioned, "What the hell, Coby? Why are you just watching?"

Coby raised his left arm, showing where his hand should be. Understanding dawned on them, but they remained unsure why Coby appeared so calm.

In the square, Buggy, reveling in the moment, raised his voice. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a spectacle today! The execution of Monkey D. Luffy! He is guilty of getting high and might and pissing me off. For that he will be executed in grand style!" The crowd, a mix of pirates and onlookers, murmured and buzzed with anticipation and fear. "So cheer in grand style!"

As the Buggy pirates started to cheer and forced civilians to participate in the spectacle, Luffy looked up at Buggy with confusion and curiosity. "I have never seen an execution," he said, almost casually.

Buggy, visibly annoyed, shouted back, "You are the one being executed!"

It was only then, with an air of realization, that Luffy responded, "Hey! Stop joking around!"

Buggy, red in the face with irritation, retorted, "You are the one who's joking around!" He then turned to address the square, his voice booming, "And now, we will commence with the grand execution!"

At this moment, Coby turned to Sanji and Usopp. "You two, the Marine is about to surround our ship. Go and prepare it. We will take Luffy and come back." Sanji, though reluctant, understood the gravity of the situation and, along with Usopp, hurried away, carrying the hefty fish they had acquired.

As they rushed off, Buggy Pirates attempted to intercept them. Sanji, unfazed, kicked his way through, opening a path for their escape. Meanwhile, Coby stood up, Nami by his side and Zoro following close behind, ready to engage the Buggy Pirates.

The sky above them darkened ominously as rumbles of thunder reverberated. The impending storm seemed to mirror the mounting tension in the square. Luffy, with Buggy's foot pressing down on his head, looked up at the pirate captain and said, "Sorry, please let me go." Buggy, with a smirk that held no warmth, retorted, "As if I would do so."

Cabaji, from below, added his voice to the mix, "This is the fate of those who defy us."

Alvida, observing the scene with a shake of her head, muttered, "To think I was aiming for this man."

Buggy, feeding off the crowd's anticipation, asked Luffy, "Any last words? You have a big audience! Ah, never mind, no one wants to hear that—" But before he could finish, Luffy took a deep breath and shouted as loud as he could, "I AM THE MAN WHO WILL BECOME KING OF THE PIRATES!"

Coby, watching the scene unfold, couldn't help but feel a surge of pride and admiration for Luffy's unwavering spirit. Nami, though worried, clung tighter to Coby, her eyes fixed on Luffy.

People in the square went wild with Luffy's bold declaration. Murmurs and exclamations filled the air. "Here, of all places!" one spectator said. Another added, "He's got guts, that's for sure." The crowd's buzz grew louder with disbelief and awe. "The King of Pirates? Is he crazy?" someone else questioned.

Buggy, holding his sword aloft, sneered down at Luffy. "Is this all you want to say? Rubberhead," he taunted. Luffy strained against the stocks, trying to break free, but they held firm. The tension in the square was palpable, every eye fixed on the scaffold.

On the outskirts, Coby, with Nami by his side, started to make his way through the crowd. Zoro followed close behind, his hand resting on the hilt of his sword, got into action. "Stop the execution!" Zoro shouted, his voice cutting through the noise of the square.

Luffy, catching sight of his friends fighting their way toward him, yelled, "Coby, Zoro! Help me!" The urgency in his voice was clear. Sanji and Usopp, meanwhile, were engaged in their own battle, fending off Buggy's pirates as they tried to make their escape with the fish.

Buggy, reveling in the moment, declared with a malicious grin, "Too late! All too late. You can watch the whole thing from there! Your captain is dead!" The crowd held its breath, the anticipation reaching a fever pitch.

Coby's detached hand, previously positioned near Buggy, ready to intervene, withdrew as he noticed the sky begin to rumble ominously. He sensed what was coming and knew he didn't need to act just yet. Luffy, still smiling despite his predicament, looked at his friends with a sense of resignation. "Coby, Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp. Sorry, I am dead."

As Buggy brought his sword down toward Luffy's neck, the crowd gasped, Zoro and Nami's faces reflected shock, while Sanji and Usopp halted their fight, turning to witness the impending execution. But Coby, standing amidst the chaos, simply smiled back at Luffy.

In that moment, the sky tore open, and a giant bolt of lightning struck the scaffold just before Buggy's sword could touch Luffy's skin. The crowd screamed, some in fear, others in shock. The execution platform was engulfed in a blinding light.

Coby focused his system on the scene and commanded, "Analyze Luffy's immunity to lightning." The system promptly responded:

[Skill Scan initiated on 'Gomu Gomu no Mi: Immunity to Lightning'. Analysis in progress… This skill derives from the unique properties of the Gomu Gomu no Mi, granting the user innate immunity to lightning and electricity. This is not merely a learned skill but an intrinsic characteristic of the Devil Fruit, providing significant defensive advantages against electrical attacks and environments. The rarity and impact of such a comprehensive immunity classify it as a highly unique and versatile ability. Considering these factors, the estimated cost for acquisition is 9150 SP. Please confirm if you wish to proceed with the Skill Scan and acquisition.]

The crowd watched in stunned silence as the scaffold, struck by the bolt, began to creak and collapse. The suddenness of the event left everyone unsure of what had just happened. Only when the sound of footsteps echoed through the square did the onlookers remember to breathe. The tension was thick, the silence almost tangible.

Luffy's straw hat, previously floating in the air, gently descended next to him. With a grin, he picked it up and placed it firmly on his head. Remarkably, he showed no signs of injury, unlike Buggy, who was visibly charred by the lightning strike.

Looking at the scene, Coby couldn't help but smirk. "Oda really hinted at Luffy's immunity to lightning in this chapter," he thought. "Readers only learned about it in the Skypiea Arc." It was a subtle yet significant detail that Coby, as an avid fan, appreciated.

Luffy's laughter filled the square, his joyous relief at being alive contagious. "Ha ha ha ha! I'm alive! Lucky me!" he exclaimed, his spirits undimmed by the near-death experience.

The shock of the moment was evident on everyone's faces. Sanji turned to Usopp, an incredulous look in his eyes. "Do you believe in higher powers?" he asked, his voice filled with awe and disbelief.

Usopp, still reeling from the surreal turn of events, could barely muster a response. He simply nodded, his gaze fixed on Luffy, the man who'd defied death itself.

As the initial shock subsided, the Marine officers surrounding the square sprang into action. "Surround them! Don't let the pirates escape!" they shouted, their orders echoing through the air.

Luffy grinned at his crew. "Let's go!" he said, his voice brimming with excitement. Coby, Nami, and Zoro didn't need to be told twice. They joined him, their steps quick as they started to run towards their ship, the Merry Go.
