NOVEL FROG THE LITTLE GIRL

I was a normal policeman until an accident changed my life forever.Where I was going to be promoted here I am staying at my old post and on the verge of being demoted.
It was a normal I and my wife was getting ready for our offices respectively.We got in our car and I was driving but something happened that I never even dreamt of.
There were 10 sec left for the light to go red,I raced my car to the lights which was my biggest mistake. I reached it when the light got yellow and in spite of saving a child crossing the road i turned the steering and there was a truck coming from the side where my wife and daughter were sitting.
The truck hit our car. The car was up 3 feet from the ground.
I did't understand at that time what happened but before i could understand anything i fainted.
Next time i woke up i was in the hospital with very less wounds but it was not same for my family.
I was an orphan and the only family i ever had were they two but now because of my mistake they were also gone.
For the next three months i blamed myself and just stayed locked up in my house.It was a nightmare for me.
After spending these three months in my house i went back to my job and started saving people thinking i was atoning for my sins.
One day while i was patrolling a person came to me and said there was a child ra*e happening at the next street,I turned on my car's siren and rushed there.
What i saw was far from normal.A man was beating was just going do something so unjust to a little girl 20-25 years younger than him.
I saw my daughter's face in the girl and took out my gun but before i could catch him he threw the girl to a wall and she injured her head fainted.
After that i took her to the hospital,paid for her treatment,Asked her name and asked her if she wanted to live with me.
After a week of that incident doctor's said that i can take her home.
She thanked the nurse which took care of her and then we were ready to go. As she got out of the hospital she stood there dazed i had to call out to her for her to listen after that i said her to come with me to the parking lot.
I killed my desire to pick her up as i thought it would be weird for her. We reached the car and i opened the car door for her.She climbed in and our journey started.
She carefreely saw outside of the window.When we reached home there was a different light in her eyes nad now i could't control my felling my take her in my arms.
When i took her in my arms she seemed embarrassed but i did't care but she asked the question which i wished she have't,She asked about my family and i knew there was a pained expression on my face when she asked that but i decided to tell her the truth
I replied to her question
"My daughter and wife came into an accident about 6 months ago and after that my life got upside down,My house never looked it like it is now and also i asked you to stay with me as you reminded me of my daughter and now if you hate me for it it's okay"
I awaited her reply and she said...
