Appearance

Ascalon has blonde, short hair with some volume to it. His facial features are overshadowed by the scar that runs through his left eye—his new friends wonder just who, or what, was able to deliver such a wound on him. He has green, bright eyes, and usually exhibits a calm expression.

His complexion is quite bulky, as his body was honed by endless training, and his torso has been on the receiving end of many attacks, bearing multiple scars to show it. Aside from his musculature and towering height, which adds to his imposing presence, there's not much noteworthy about his appearance.

His usual clothes back at Excadia where pretty simple, somewhat shabby. They usually consisted of brown leather shirts, unremarkable pants, and a somewhat old pair of boots tied around by small ropes. There wasn’t much fashion sense back in his days, after all.

After coming to New Lumingard, his wardrobe had an abrupt change, as he now sports more modern, stylish clothes—handpicked by his friends, of course. His now usual outfit consists of a blue jacket, a white shirt, a pair of red sunglasses, beige jeans, and brown boots.

When going into worthy battles, he sports his weighty armor—a set of steel plates hammered relentlessly under the hands of a renowned smith, made to fit Ascalon to perfection. The white cloak that he usually uses was a gift from another blessed—a woman he has completely forgotten about…

As for his armament, he wields the great lance Exemplaris, and the great shield Aegis, both common weapons forged by the same smith. Contrary to common belief, both in Excadia and among his newest friends, they’re just normal weaponry—their names and renown were given to them by people that recounted his feats.

In short, they’re marvelous results of masterful smithwork, but aren’t really infused with any sort of enchantment or blessing.

Personality

Ascalon is usually calm, very meditative and cautious. He’s got the qualities of a great leader, and an authoritative demeanor, though he doesn’t exert his will over others unless necessary.

He’s chivalrous and honorable, but can, and will, be ruthless depending on the task at hand. His anger isn’t easily quelled, though he has been behaving more relaxed thanks to the new environment he’s in. It goes without saying, that Ascalon would protect his friends with his life.

He loves dogs, and his favorite color is blue! His aspirations are to find any traces of his old world, and a way to go back—though he doesn’t want to abandon New Lumingard forever, either. Working at The Chalice and helping out Lilithra are his other short-term goals.

Relationships so far

Raphael: Both his benefactor and a role figure, as he admires the older man’s insight and his polished steward skills. No one can blame him, honestly.

Selorien: The mischievous elf that has been rubbing off on him, a beacon of being laid-back and relaxed. He apparently has quite the lineage, and his grandfather seems a bit dubious.

Lilithra: Although he was once conflicted about her true nature, he cherishes deeply, and has convinced himself that, somehow, he’s at her side to see her growth.

Rosco: Some guy he beat up, and who was annoying Lilithra. She beat him up too.

Ron: A true businessman, but that has helped him greatly. Ascalon thinks he’s trustworthy, though maybe a bit too meddlesome.

Marianne: Ron’s subordinate, so to say. Ascalon doesn’t really know much about her. Only added her so she doesn’t feel left out!

Marygold: Raphael’s mysterious friend, who seems to run a brothel of sorts. She seems trustworthy enough.

Guild Leaders: Back at the colosseum, he met a few of them, some more closely than others, but his impressions about them are mixed. Jay and Calista are the ones he felt could get along with. Lucio could've been added to this, but alas, he's unworthy!
