"Look at me here! So how is my future father-in-law doing?" Kai arrived in the private room, startling Aoi and leaving Mrs. Koshiki even more speechless about their relationship.

"H-he's fine. The nurses said that his body is recovering well from his injuries, but they don't know when he will wake up..." Mrs. Koshiki was unable to deny anything, deciding to just talk about her husband. And as she spoke, her expression got worse.

"In fact, he is expected to wake up soon." Daisuke Ashikaga entered the room and already said the good news. He was the hospital's general surgeon and attended only to the most private cases. He had just analyzed the medicines that Kai gave him and the expectation was that in less than two days the man would wake up.

"Does he have a prediction? My God, how good!" Mrs. Koshiki couldn't help but cry again thinking about it. Her husband had been in a coma for ONE WEEK! How good it is to know that he can wake up soon and live his life normally.

"Thank young Kai here. If it wasn't for him bringing your husband here, it was quite possible that the man would be in a coma for a long time." Daisuke winked at Kai, helping him get closer to the girl's family. He then took the form and some nurses entered the room, "Come on, I'll start the treatment right away and in about two days he'll be awake. With the new drugs, a week at the most and he will be recovered from his wounds."

After that, Kai had a little chat with Aoi and Mrs. Koshiki about what the next few days would be like. The hospital had a rooming system for family members, so Aoi's mother would stay here with her father until he was discharged. Aoi would have to choose whether she would stay too or go back home.

"I can keep driving her home and back since I always drive to school. Not a big problem." Kai was already feeling a little weird, almost wanting to download the Uber app. The amount of rides he gave was already passing a reasonable amount.

"I'm sorry if we are making you work so hard on our behalf. I don't know where you get so much kindness!" Mrs. Koshiki was on the verge of dragging the two of them to a registry office and would officiate the wedding right now if she could. Could she ask for a better son-in-law than this one?

Aoi the entire time stayed by her mother's side, her gaze at Kai changing from grateful to emotional. When she saw how he handled things, with so much focus and determination, unstoppable until he solved everything and at the same time taking care that nothing was left behind, her heart pounded. A strong and careful man who also carried justice!

Looking at her [Status] and seeing how much her [Lovemeter] had increased, Kai's smile became more apparent. He wasn't doing this specifically because he wanted to be with Aoi, but that was a big part of the reason.

As mentioned before, in the first conversation between them, Kai was someone who did not carry blind justice and kindness towards everyone, regardless of who they are.

If he saw someone in need of help, if that person was important to him, then that would be a yes. But if he didn't even know and they weren't involved, then that would be a no. The gang had around 100 members, all scattered around the base. He came killing each of the lower members, and now only the high-ranking ones were missing, the masterminds of the operation against his master.

The moment he opened the door, all he saw was an empty room. Looking more closely, he saw cigarettes still lit and cards lying on the table. Prostitutes were sprawled on the floor, completely high on drugs and aphrodisiacs.

"Fuck, where the hell are those guys!?" He walked over to the table, stepping over all those women. His look at them was one of disgust, but he couldn't bring himself to kill them for being innocent either. Or at least, he couldn't handle the burden of having killed a woman.

When he reached the table, a cell phone started ringing. Knowing what it was, Michael answered the call.

"Well, well, look who answered me. I hope it's you, my dear Michael." A snarky and brutal voice came from the other end of the phone, sounding even psychotic, "I know you must have a lot of questions, but I like to go for the fun first." The man on the other end seemed to have stopped to drag on his cigarette before continuing, "We just broke into your house expecting to find something, and it looks like you're poor to the core. But well, the important thing is that we found a very interesting photo here, you little pervert. You use your master's daughter as masturbation material?"

"You bastards, I'm going to kill you all!" Michael's heart nearly caught fire with rage. Luckily, he'd stashed his treasure elsewhere today. But when he learned that they managed to find the photos of his master's daughter, he felt even more angry.

"Well then, shall we make a bet?" A tearing sound came from the other end of the line, the voice sounding cold and indifferent this time.

After spending the entire day, from breakfast to dinner, with the two Koshiki women, Kai was now on a walk with Aoi. She was wearing a coat as it got a little chilly, while he was still in his usual clothes.

They were walking through the city streets, with no apparent direction. The big buildings were starting to get farther away as they approached the shoreline.

"How are you feeling?" He asked her, walking in step.

"Warm..." She replied automatically, because the way Kai was taking care of her now felt like a dream. But she was lucky that her sentence seemed to refer to the coat, and not him.

"I know a way to make it hotter- oh, why am I being spanked so much lately?" He felt Aoi's light punch on his arm, her pouting looked very cute.

"You spent all day talking about 'father-in-law this' and 'mother-in-law that'. How am I going to look at my parents now?" She didn't seem to want to look at him anymore, turning her face away. The sea breeze next door blew her hair, making it a very attractive sight.

"There's a really easy way to fix this..." He ran his hand over her chin and squeezed. The pout it formed gave the intense urge to bite and see her reaction.

"Silly!" Aoi blushed as her hands held Kai's hand under her chin. She looked like she wanted to pull it away, but her gaze wandered to his mouth as well. What strength she had was useless, and it actually seemed now that she was pulling, not pushing.

The moment seemed to have stopped for them. The two there, on that walkway overlooking the infinite dark blue sea, the winds calming down, giving space for them. Kai lifted Aoi so she could lean on the grab bars that were there. Her stature was too small for him, having to make her sit there so that the two were at least the necessary height.

"Kiss me..." Aoi asked, her gaze unfocused, her mouth open in anticipation of the coming first kiss. Her racing heart felt like it was going to come out of her mouth with so much emotion.

"With pleasure..." Kai was holding back from squashing Aoi in a hug because she was so cute, his mind racing on wanting to kiss this beautiful girl.

The sound of several tires dragging on the asphalt and breaking everything in their path came from behind the two suddenly. Kai's ears captured everything and he calculated to the millimeter as he hugged Aoi.

Three cars crashed into the iron railings they were standing on just now. Kai jumped over the three cars while holding Aoi, his eyes calculating how many people were in the cars. He was still in the air when he saw the men getting out of the car with pistols in hand and already aiming at him.

"Shit!"

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

Doing a mid-air maneuver, Kai turned his back on the bullets, some hitting him while the rest hit the ground.

"Aah! Fuck!" Feeling at least four puncture wounds on his back, he was filled with rage. Anger because he didn't know what the fuck was going on, and anger because they tried to hurt Aoi.

The instant his feet hit the ground, the momentum in his stride was so great that concrete within a 2 meter radius cracked. His figure practically disappeared for a second before he was seen running towards a nearby kiosk.

"Kill that bastard! Focus the shots on the girl!" What appeared to be the leader said as he pulled out a Glock and started shooting too. He had a Blood mark on his neck, looking like a claw.

"Aaaaaaah! Shots, it's shots!" People who were nearby started running in despair when they heard the shots. Fortunately no one had been hurt yet, but who knew for how long.

"Boss, who the fuck is this kid? Is he friends with that son of a bitch?!" One of the leader's henchmen continued firing towards Kai, his screams ringing out between shots.

"No matter who he is, nobody messes with the Bloodmark Gang and walks away without losing a thing. If that motherfucker didn't know how to stop when we almost killed his master, then the only solution is to kill his darling little girl."

The shots then focused on the kiosk that Kai jumped over with Aoi.

"Kai, what is this?!! Why are they shooting at us??" Aoi was still in the midst of all the shock when she saw that Kai's clothes had started to stain red on the back, "Did you get hit??? Oh my God! W-what how-us. Kai..." Aoi started to hyperventilate, everything changing too quickly for her body to keep up.

"Easy, easy, I'm fine!" Kai held Aoi's face, making her look deep into his eyes, "It's okay, I'll sort this out, okay? I just need you to use this here and..." He took out a hair clip and placed it on Aoi's hair.

He then pushed her and a translucent yellow colored barrier appeared around her. Whether it was the shots, debris or even the dust, nothing got through it.

"Kai, what is this??" She was still looking at Kai, her hands trying to get past the barrier to reach him. But since she was still in danger, the barrier didn't dissipate. Her teary eyes then watched with great shock as Kai pulled a giant katana out of a black hole, its blade as gray and shiny as the moon, "H-how..."

Without answering Aoi, he started to wait as the shots kept coming, slowly piercing the kiosk wall and dust filling the place.

"Three!"

The shots were still ferocious, their speed ripping through the air and causing whistling noises at every second.

"Two!"

The frequency of the shots began to decrease, the tension in the air increasing. Aoi was watching Kai, his eyes closed, and decided to keep quiet.

"One!"

Click! Click! The magazines discharged. Kai opened his eyes as the breathing changed, lightning seeming to cross his body as the muscles tensed.

Swoosh!

"Limit Breaker!"

The ground beneath his feet cracked as the sword's cold glare seemed to tear through the wind.
