Soulbound

Chapter 10

I have so many questions.

What do you mean 'Wise king of the forest' people?! It's just a gigantic hamster. The longer I stay in this world, the weirder it gets.

I wanted to just follow them for now and when noone is around interrogate the bonehead. That idea changed when I noticed someone using the cheerful chaos to sneak around to some other part of the city and using such a distraction to remain unseen.

So the three of us left after them. Ainz noticed us going, but he could not move as he was the centre of attention.

We followed the person, whoever that is it knows the city as if the place belongs to them. He or she went into a full-blown sprint, no longer trying to sneak around. Maybe noticed that someone was following them. Before we were able to catch up, I felt the person enter one of the buildings and, shortly after, leave it from the other side of the building carrying something. Good thing I spent so many skill points on this 'spiritual perception', or I would not have known anything. The skill is using the spiritual energy that emits from my body to gather information passively. Right now, this is the lowest possible outcome since I am reigning back most of it, but it still allows me to cover almost half of the city. The only drawback is that I can feel spiritual matters, which means I don't know where they are, what objects, colours, what someone looks like and more. I just know that someone is there. So if someone doesn't have a soul, then I can't see them with this ability.

Now, I am in front of the building, which is an alchemist workshop. Interesting what could have some sneaky person want from such a place. I refuse to believe that it's just a spot where she or he passed through, it took too long to just run through the place.

I gently open the door.

The inside of the building seems to be a whole open space with one or two small rooms. There is a lot of alchemical equipment along with supplies and some ready blue potions of unknown effects.

The first thing I notice is blood on the floor. The second are four zombies slowly creeping towards me. They are just basic zombies a level 5 or 6 mobs.

With quick slash i decapitated them all without any issue. Undead are generally concidered troublesome for new players due to the fact that they are harder to kill. The most sure way is to completely destroy their bodies like for example burning them to ashes or cutting their head off.

Aren't those the team that Satoru came with to that village? Why would someone actively want to kill them. From what I thought they seem like a good bunch so maybe some shady idiots? And where is the h protagonist wannabe?

Then, the souls went from their bodies and entered the sword.

Why do undead still have souls in them? It should not be possible. Necromancy is just using bodies that are essentially empty shells.

I feel something deep from within me start resurfacing, I tried to stop it, but coudn't. Not that I cared.

This is abominable. How would someone do such atrocity!

They are destroying the circle of life, bending it to their whims. Something that should not be touched, much less changed.

Killing someone is one thing. Genociding thousands is irrelevant since souls will go according to the rules. But trapping souls, keeping them from moving on to their destination, is UNNACEPTABLE!

I WILL NOT ALLOW BALANCE TO BE BROKEN! NOT BY WORMS LIKE THEM!

I SHALL KILL THEM AND ToRtUrE ThEiR SoUlS!

My mind went into full-blown rage. I did not notice that turquoise vein-like lines appeared on my zanpakuto. Even more so, I'm not thinking why Ainz or his undead don't cause such a reaction in me. All of those are irrelevant.

I looked at my companions who are not so good anymore. Soi Fon is lying on the ground struggling to breathe while Zaraki is kneeling on one knee trying to not fall down like her under the pressure I am emmiting.

My percepsion increased due to no longer reigning my energy inside. That made me notice a lot of undead in the cemetry outside of the city.

"You parasites!"

I used shunpo while running towards the cemetery, not caring that in this state, locals could see nor that those who stood too close to me on my way died squashed by the pressure and certainly not about me leaving craters where I stomped between each use of movement technique.

I can feel something trying to reach me in my conscouseness. In my stated it was hard to keep it out so I allowed it hoping it's nothing malicoius. Then the energy going out of me nearly doubled and my body stopped listening to me, I stopped in place which made me calm down instantly as if a bucket of water was poured on me.

Something was moving my body, observing the city around, looking at the hands which I noticed became very pale with turquise veins that look the same as those on the sword.

Did my zanpakuto just take control of my body? This is... not good. I hope it doesn't want to do anything bad.

'He' looked at the nearby place that had water. The movements were rough and slow, and my body moved more like a zombie. We both look at my reflection. Now 'I' had the same vains and was dead pale. The most striking feature tho were eyes which turned black with the pupils of the same colour as veins.

He grinned like a maniac. Never thought I would see my own body make such an expression, the action doesn't make it easier to stop worrying.

"Calm yourself, I will just go to have some fun with those idiots. Hehehehe"

I heard 'him' saying most likely to me. I feel like I could take control back, but it would be tiring and most likely make him angry so as long as he won't do something totally against me then I shall allow it for a little bit.

"To be fair, I was not expecting my wielder to be such a bombshell. Looks so good that I don't mind being sealed there."

Is he seriously flirting with me in this situation? Don't you dare try to look at my naked body, you pervert!

"Hahaha"

Does he hear me?

"Yep"

We got above the walls right next to the cemetery and noticed Ainz jumping from them to battle hordes of zombies and skeletons roaming the vicinity.

We fall down some distance in front of him, and when near the ground, he unsheathes the sword and swings it horizontally with that seemingly slow, uncontrollable movement that brings unease. The effect? The long gashes in the dirt and earth cracked forward from the said line as if a massive earthquake had occurred, destroying countless undead along with possibly empty graves.

The power-up from the 'possession' is ridiculous.

"I didn't know you were this strong, Atsune."

I heard Ainz say. My body, or more like the head alone turned around towards him and well, the skeleton got green aura instantly, It's not hard to realise that something is wrong. The most disturbing thing for me is hearing my neck snap. Will I be ok once I get control back?

"Atsune is not home now."

And seemingly teleported ahead. Despite that, I was able to hear Satoru's response.

"Fuck"

You like causing chaos, don't you?

"You have no idea how entertaining it is. Especially when you are so bored."

We stopped some distance away from what seemed to be a bunch of typical necromancers in robes. They just keep looking around, not noticing us since it's dark here.

Then behind us appeared Aizen,Unohana and Zaraki. Both Kenpachis at the same battlefield, what could go wrong?

"Lady Atsune, is everything all right?"

Said the only female captain. Don't you dare do it again...

And the head once more did 180.

"Atsune is not home now. She will never be back."

The three look wide-eyed, most likely realising what happened.

"hehehehe. Ok, I was joking. It seems I overstayed my welcome. We will talk later."

After saying that my head went back to normal and in a span of a few secons all my features came back sa it were before the possesion.

"With all due respect, but it seems that death itself is...How do I put it."

I didn't let her finish and ended for her.

"A total jackass, idiot, easygoing, but I would rather him be like that than be a psycho."

The three just nodded.
