So, I'm a witch, so what?

V4.1: Sentiment

It's been a while since I last wrote a journal of this magnitude, but I'm thrilled to share that life on the farm has been a source of immense joy and fulfillment. I've become part of the family and relish every moment of my life as a farmer, even if it's dirty and not considered prestigious.

Each day, I witness the tangible results of my efforts and the bountiful rewards that follow after a few weeks. This lifestyle, which I never imagined would suit me, has become a source of unexpected delight. I now relish in tilling the soil, a joy I wish I had discovered earlier.

I've also met the locals and been introduced as a "pet." I don't like being introduced as a pet for now, but hey, if that's what it takes to integrate into human society, then so be it. I will endure it. It's not like they mistreat me. It is just that they don't accept me as one of them, which is fair enough that I'm not human anymore.

Sometimes, I do wonder, though, what happened to my family in the forest? Did the village manage to survive that beast's attack? Are they alive? Are they alright? I do not know; I'm too weak and scared to look for them. Just thinking about that creature sends chills down my spine.

I'm sure they're alright; there's no way the village lost to a single predator. That wouldn't make much sense unless we are that undesirable. {Chuckle} Look at me worrying about it like I could do something about it {Sigh} It is best to let it go and move on.

I've only got skills to build stuff, not to destroy or attack anyone or anything. I'm useless in combat. However, Klevan says I could quickly learn from a blacksmith to be a proper blacksmith myself. Klevan was impressed when I made him a small hoe of the same quality as the last one he broke.

"You're a little surprise box, Pan!" He told me after padding my head while carrying a huge smile.

Back then, all of my building and refining skills had grown quite large, and I'm now capable of minor metal manipulation without much issue, so I've left the Stone Age behind. There's still the problem of inexperience, but judging by Klevan's approval, I've got more consistency over time.

This world is fantastic in so many ways that I cannot describe. For example, this magic makes life easier and some manual labor irrelevant. Remember when I used to till dirt with my hands? Well, it turns out that with some magic, you can just point to the tool and command it to move on its own from afar.

It's fair to say that magic makes life much easier for everyone, although I don't grasp it well enough to make it my whole personality. Magic is weird and behaves differently from any known force of the universe, or at least that's how it feels, as it defies common logic and reasonable thought.

There are various types of magic, but the most well-known are the following. There's elemental magic that allows their users to wield natural elements like dirt, metal, air, water, and fire. Klevan said that most magic users are elemental somehow, and then he told me about the other "mutations."

According to Klevan, magic powers like mine that allow the creation and manipulation of tools, weapons, and artifacts are rare and uncommon among humans and other intelligent creatures. He said that these kinds of different magics are called "mutations."

So I'm not only a monster but a mutant monster, bu ahh! I'll eat your babies alive type of stuff! I'm just kidding. Of course, I would never do that. Human children wouldn't taste that great anyway if the saying "You are what you eat" is true.

{Knock knock knock}

"Who is it?" A door knock interrupts me while I write my journal update, and I'm slightly annoyed until I hear my dear's voice.

"Pan, Daddy says that he won't bring you back any food if you don't get your butt to the carriage right now!" I had forgotten that today we were supposed to run errands into town; my bad, Klevan, sir, I'll be there in no time.

"Stop your dad from leaving! I'll be there! Please, Alice!"

{Giggle} "You forgot, didn't you? Bad Goblin! Bad!"

"Just don't tell your father about it, okay? I'll bring you one of those cupcakes you like."

"You've got it!"

With Isabel out of the picture, I could now focus on getting ready for the market trip, which only required me to change into clean clothes and put on some shoes. It is surprisingly more uncomfortable to walk with shoes as a goblin, believe it or not.

My feet are great for farm work since they allow me to go at it barefoot, but I do have to use some to go into town because Klevan doesn't want anyone to think lowly of me how considerate even if he did introduce me as a "pet."

It's not like I can complain, so let's just move on and skip ahead to the action since I doubt you want to see a naked goblin changing clothes! Cameraman, get out of here!

I've got a simple yet respectable at the end. A crude 3-piece set with elegant shoes, a dressing pair of pants, and a long-sleeved T-shirt. Oh, I almost forgot to mention my cool little bonnet hat. I know it's usually a girl's hat, but it's the only kind I can wear because of my ears; every other kind doesn't fit me well.

Besides, this hat was handmade by my savior, so there's no way I wouldn't wear it whenever I could. However, the locals soon reminded me why I don't like to come into town even if it helps the business quite a lot, and that's the few racist people who look down on me.

Ugh! I feel like punching them in the face whenever they see me funny. It makes me think, "What are you looking at?" Seriously, not only that, but these guys sometimes throw rocks at me while saying rude things about me, like I'm some sort of freak, but I'm not!

"Pan, can you take the potato load to the restaurant clerk down the street? I need to talk to some of our vendors about the increased number of products we supply." Klevan asks me, knowing the restaurant owner is one of the few who greatly like me.

"Sure thing! I'm on it! Don't forget to mention them the tool business you wanted me to start working on!" That's right, baby! Since I only need the materials to magically make tools, why not make it a whole business?! I could take many customers away from cheap, labored tool makers.

So I took the reigns of the potato load and led it to the restaurant down the street right away. It was all going well and good until the usual bullies showed up to bother me. It would be cute if they were kids, but my bullies are fully grown adults.

"Get back into the forest, you filthy animal!" "You shouldn't be allowed here. This is a human settlement!" They both said to me, but since they didn't get physical, I just ignored them. Their words couldn't hurt me, but it all got out of control when they became physical.

It was simple pushing around and stuff, but now they were beginning to threaten me with small knives and punch me harder than I had ever been. Like now, the two men who jumped me were basically beating me into a pulp on the ground, with me being able to do nothing about it. I'm no fighter and not strong enough to fight for myself yet.

"That's right, you dam goblin! You're not welcome here!" "Stop showing up into town, or we will kill you next time, you little shit!"
