Chapter 74: Killing a gigantic snake with bare hands

Gorn’s breath was currently very uneven. “This feels, and looks so real…” The flame sword was very effective, but that consumed a lot of energy. Using it in a prolonged fight was not a wise option.

“Let’s try again.”

The enormous snake on the edge of the arena that he previously attacked could no longer be challenged. The options were non-existent anymore. “I guess I have to wait ten hours before attacking the same target again…”

Despite that, the other fourteen snakes could still be challenged. Moving to the next one, Gorn selected the attack option. Like before, he found himself yet again somewhere in the middle of the arena. The one thing different was that the main stage was now split in two.

“I see…”

If he attacked all the targets, the arena will most probably be divided in fifteen parts, exactly like it was when he first entered. That, however, was no problem. There was more than enough space to operate at full capacity.

“This is…?” Gorn was surprised. The moment the new timer appeared, the energy he previously used recovered instantly. He was yet again in tip-top condition. “Ha, this is not bad at all.”

The snake attacked.

Gorn blinked at the last second. Now, he was close to the wall that stopped him to go towards the other area. The snake quickly found his new location, and mindlessly plunged at him again. The moment the snake was about to eat him whole, Gorn teleported away. The enormous snake slammed head first into the wall.

“How stupid…”

The mindless actions of the creature made him sigh for a short moment. “Is this like dreaming, or what is this situation exactly?” Despite the fact that everything felt real, he highly doubted that it was. Alas, he could not tell for sure.

In spite of normal expectations, the wall did not break after being slammed into. Not even a crack could be seen on it.

‘It makes sense,’ thought Gorn. Each fight had to be separate from each-other. If not, too many variables could come into play, greatly influencing the outcome of the simple fights.

Putting away the sword, Gorn started to run towards the snake. Evading its attack, he jumped on the monster’s huge body, and started to punch it. There was some damage, but nothing fatal. The scales were rather hard to pierce with only his fists.

On the other hand, the same thing could not be told about multiple strikes in the same spot. The snake’s scales broke apart eventually, and some decent damage was done.

Using his blink, and the ability to step on air allowed him to easily avoid the snake’s attacks, regardless of his footing, or bad positioning. All this required focus. The opponent was no weakling, and a head on attack could do a decent amount of damage.

Even though his doubles did not use his skills to the fullest, nor any real tactics, their focus was commendable. Like machines, they evaded, and attacked without batting an eyelid. No hesitation whatsoever. This, with the random use of some skills, and the difference in size was probably the main reason he won every time when auto attacking.

Gorn kept evading, and attacking with his hands. After some time, the snake dropped dead, and its body soon disappeared.

“This hurts…”

Looking at his hands, Gorn felt wave after wave of pain. His fists were bleeding, and most of the bones in his hands were fractured. That was the price of killing a gigantic snake with his bare hands.

“Previously, my energy recovered when starting a new fight. Is it the same with physical injuries?”

The was only one way to find out.
