Road Survival, I Have a Hint System!

Chapter 32: One Shot, Three Hits

Looking at the location where the supply crate landed, Zhang Tuohai couldn't help but whistle.

"Such luck! I just got here, and I’ve already found a supply drop."

Driving his vehicle, Zhang Tuohai headed toward the small town.

In less than three minutes, he arrived near the town.

Parking his car on the roadside, Zhang Tuohai asked the system, "System, are there any ambushes in the town?"

"No living creatures detected within a 500-meter radius. There is a sleeping wild boar 800 meters away, but as long as you don’t make any loud noises, it won’t be disturbed."

"A wild boar? Forget it then."

Zhang Tuohai quickly dismissed the idea.

If he had armor-piercing rounds, he might consider hunting the boar for food, but all he had were 12-gauge shotgun shells, so he decided it wasn’t worth it.

Finding the supply crate was his main priority.

Zhang Tuohai put on his helmet, wore his stab-proof vest, tactical boots, and gloves, then turned off the car engine and carefully stepped out, carrying his Remington shotgun. He cautiously moved toward the ruins of the village.

Just after getting out of the car, Zhang Tuohai paused for a moment and decided to put on an old black coat as well.

He hid the Remington under the coat.

This outfit would make others drop their guard if he encountered any players. If anyone had malicious intentions, he might even get the upper hand.

The village had an old Western movie vibe, with white walls, red roofs, and wooden buildings.

However, time had weathered the buildings. The paint on the walls had chipped, revealing the original wood beneath, and the wooden walls were eroded by wind and sand, looking like they could collapse at any moment.

"System, report the location of the supply crate."

"Proceed 300 meters forward, turn left, then walk another 50 meters."

Following the system’s directions, Zhang Tuohai arrived at the designated spot.

Looking up, he saw the purple supply crate not far ahead, its parachute cords still hanging from the box.

"This is it!"

Zhang Tuohai quickened his pace toward the supply crate, and just as he was about to open it, the system's electronic voice sounded again.

"Level 3 supply crate contains: one hungry cheetah, one blueprint for a car fan."

"A car fan!" Zhang Tuohai's eyes lit up.

Although it wasn’t as good as car air conditioning, it was still a cooling item.

However, the hungry cheetah presented a problem.

Everyone knows cheetahs have powerful bursts of speed, and opening the box at close range could get him injured.

"How can I open the box without getting hurt? Maybe dig a pit, and when the cheetah jumps out, kick it into the pit?"

As Zhang Tuohai pondered how to safely open the crate, the system's voice interrupted again.

"Two players detected, armed with melee weapons, no threat detected."

Zhang Tuohai looked up and saw a road ahead.

A car had stopped on the road, and two men were getting out.

One of them was obese, wearing a floral shirt, sunglasses, and a thick gold chain around his neck, holding a steel hatchet. He looked like some sort of gangster boss.

The boss had his shirt open, exposing a tattoo of a tiger on his chest.

However, due to his large size, the once fierce tiger now looked like a fat housecat, giving off an unexpectedly comical vibe.

Behind the boss was a skinny young man with dyed yellow hair and dark circles under his eyes, clearly a lackey. He carried a spear over his shoulder.

Zhang Tuohai glanced at the spear and recognized it as the same type of hunting spear he had used before.

It was unclear if they made it themselves or had bought it from him.

The lackey pointed at the purple supply crate in front of Zhang Tuohai and said, "Boss, look! It’s a purple supply crate. I told you I wasn’t seeing things."

"Good eye, kid. I’ll give you an extra half slice of bread tonight," the boss said, patting the lackey on the shoulder with a toothy grin.

"Boss, there’s someone standing over there, and he’s wearing a coat!" The lackey spotted Zhang Tuohai standing by the crate.

Since Zhang Tuohai was wearing a motorcycle helmet, his face wasn’t visible.

"Hmm?" The boss also saw Zhang Tuohai.

Noticing that Zhang Tuohai didn’t appear to be armed, the boss sneered.

"Look at this guy—helmet and a coat. Go take his stuff. And ask him where his car is. Take all the supplies from it too," the boss said impatiently as he walked toward the crate.

The lackey pointed his spear at Zhang Tuohai. "Kid, if you know what's good for you, hand over your gear, or don’t blame me for what happens."

"Are you sure you want this supply crate?" Zhang Tuohai asked calmly.

"What? You plan on resisting?" the lackey sneered. "Do you even know who our boss is? We’ve taken down guys like you before. If you cooperate, we’ll spare your life. If not, we’ll finish you off today."

"In that case, I won’t feel bad anymore," Zhang Tuohai nodded.

"What do you mean?" The lackey was confused.

At that moment, the boss swung his steel hatchet at the purple crate.

The supply crate vanished, and a cheetah appeared in front of the boss.

As soon as the cheetah materialized, it scanned its surroundings, then launched itself at the boss, knocking him to the ground and sinking its teeth into his neck.

The cheetah’s sharp teeth tore through the boss’s throat, and blood gushed out.

"Boss!" the lackey shouted, rushing to help.

But when he saw the size of the cheetah, fear gripped him.

He turned to Zhang Tuohai and shouted, "You! Go deal with that beast!"

"Are you sure?" Zhang Tuohai calmly raised his hand, revealing the Remington hidden under his coat.

The lackey froze at the sight of the gun’s barrel.

"A gun?!"

The lackey's mind went blank, and cold sweat poured down his face.

Although he had followed the boss for years, stabbing people with knives, this was his first time encountering a gun.

His already fragile courage evaporated.

"B-boss, this is all a big misunderstanding..." The lackey stammered, trying to explain.

But Zhang Tuohai wasn’t interested in his excuses.

He pulled the trigger. Boom!

The 12-gauge shotgun blast sent 12 pellets flying in a spread.

Thud thud thud.

Since Zhang Tuohai had aimed mostly at the cheetah, five pellets struck the cheetah, causing it to howl in pain and release its grip on the boss, slumping on top of him.

Two pellets hit the boss, and the remaining five spread out. Two of them hit the lackey.

Zhang Tuohai had hit all three targets with one shot.
