Remnants anomaly

Serious discussion

Couldn't you just wipe out the grim with one of those supper secret omega level weapons you have plans for?" yang decided to toss leon straight under the bus. he grimaced when she mentioned those weapons since no one was supposed to realize that such things were possible. "what are omega level weapons and why do you look like someone just shared an embarrassing secret?" blake asked curiously. "omega represents the end , the finish , completion , as a result omega level weapons are weapons to end all other weapons with world destroying capabilities."

"Yang had promised to never speak of them after she snooped through my stuff several years ago." he explained while sending a scathing look at the blonde. "why would you design such horrible things!?" weiss exclaimed in horror. "and that's the reason for my expression when yang said that , i HAVEN'T designed those things , she read through one of my research notes and came across the reference and had me explain it to her." leon said with a sigh. "at the time i was toying with the idea of kinetic bombardment and at it's extreme a weapon capable of omega levels of damage could theoretically be constructed." he explained honestly.

"But how would destroying the world solve the grim problem , wouldn't that just kill everyone else as well?" blake asked immediately seeing the issue. "yang is under the false impression that you could control an omega weapon to destroy ONLY the grim. if it worked like that it wouldn't be an omega level weapon. it's also why i refused to actually design such a thing , because it's foolish and pointless to design a world killing device when we need the world to live." he explained while yang shrank under his glare after being told how stupid her idea was.

"The grim are a problem yes but we have hunters and weapons capable of ending all but the strongest of them so there is no need for me to seek a way to commit genocide. contrary to what everyone thinks we are not in fact struggling to survive against the grim , this city is proof enough of that." leon said seriously. "but why would we need hunters if we are not  struggling with the grim?" weiss asked thinking she found a flaw in leons reasoning. he just shook his head "hunters are part of the reason we aren't struggling with the grim."

"An example would be a horde forming far from the city and no hunters exist so the city panic's before getting overrun. in the exact same scenario if even a single hunter noticed the forming horde a defense and retaliation could be made well in advance cutting the losses considerably. the fact of the matter is that hunters rarely actually take the fight to the grim but are more of a retaliatory force than anything. there are exceptions of course such as myself who kills hundreds of grim in a month but again i am an exception rather than the rule." he explained calmly.

"Surely hunters fight grim like you , more than you seem to think at least." ruby said defiantly. "afraid not little one , sure some try to at first but they will either slowly stop to settle in a place they like or get forced to do so because they got crippled. the only other options are those who thrive in it like me or those who die early because they made a mistake of some kind. out of all the hunters who are born only about a quarter of a single percent seeks out grim of their own initiative like me and survive." leon said seriously.

"When you all become hunters in your own rights you will fall into one of the paths beyond my own. none of you are made for my way of living and that's ok , the world doesn't need more monsters after all." he said before flying away with genesis. leon was without a doubt just another monster and he knew it. 'at least this monster isn't trying to kill humanity at least' he thought self depreciatingly.
