Reborn in the Post-Apocalyptic World: Building Infrastructure

Chapter 79: I Want to Find a Chain to Tie Her Up

All three of them wore wide sun hats commonly used while riding motorcycles, with the side visors pulled down low, completely covering their faces, leaving nothing visible.

"Miss Su, we meet again," Liu Yu grinned, hands in his pockets as he looked at Su Ling.

Su Ling's face turned cold instantly. "You really didn't die."

Liu Yu shrugged. "Miss Su is doing well. How could I be willing to die?"

Feng Weiwei giggled, "I thought we needed Sheng Hongye to deal with you. But it seems Liu Yu was right; you have indeed appeared and you do have some courage."

At the sight of Feng Weiwei, Wang Pian and Luo Xiaobing trembled. This woman had left a deep psychological scar on them.

Su Ling shielded the two behind her and whispered, "When I say 'run,' both of you head to the car. As long as you don't get out, they won't be able to do anything."

Before her words could sink in, Liu Yu chuckled, "Miss Su wants to run? Don't forget, we have a wind-based ability user. Do you think you can escape us?"

Feng Weiwei approached, her smile malicious like a venomous snake, sending shivers down their spines.

"The people in my hands still want to run? Not only you, but also these two little bitches, none of you should even think about getting away."

Seeing Feng Weiwei getting closer, Su Ling immediately shouted, "Run!"

Turning around, she found that the two didn't move.

Feng Weiwei burst into a sinister laugh, her voice quivering with amusement, "With just the two of them? Do they dare? They are nothing more than waste who rely on men's crotch for survival."

Wang Pian bit her lip, although scared, she couldn't help but speak loudly, "We're not afraid of you. We can't bear to leave Sister Su Ling. Both Luo Xiaobing and I won't abandon her."

Luo Xiaobing's voice also trembled as she said, "Sister Su Ling taught us about human dignity. Even if it means dying, I want to be with Sister Su Ling until the end."

Clap, clap, clap.

Feng Weiwei applauded sarcastically, "I heard you are a doctor, but it seems you're good at brainwashing people. It only took one night to get these two under your control. Impressive, I feel ashamed of myself in comparison!"

Su Ling tightened her grip on the gun but felt warmth in her heart. Despite their fear, they still chose to stay. It touched and reassured her.

Yesterday's lesson hadn't been in vain.

Unconsciously, her finger rested on the trigger.

Liu Yu's expression suddenly changed as he predicted Feng Weiwei being killed by Su Ling. He immediately shouted, "Feng Weiwei, get down."

Without hesitation, Feng Weiwei squatted down. Simultaneously, Su Ling pulled the trigger.

Bang.

The muffled gunshot echoed as the bullet grazed Feng Weiwei's hair and flew off.

Liu Yu called out again, "Li Lincheng, use your ability quickly; her gun still has bullets."

Li Lincheng waved his hands, conjuring wind spheres under their feet. Feng Weiwei quickly ran away.

"What's going on? Her gun was empty yesterday," Liu Yu cursed, and Li Lincheng was just as clueless. Feng Weiwei's question remained unanswered.

Su Ling raised her gun again, but the three of them moved in a zigzag pattern, causing Su Ling to waste two bullets and making it impossible for her to aim. She had to abandon the idea of shooting them dead.

Finding cover, Feng Weiwei looked at Su Ling as she retracted her gun. She immediately asked Liu Yu, who was hiding behind nearby garbage, "Can you sense anything? Does Su Ling still have bullets?"

"Probably," Liu Yu replied, but as soon as he finished speaking, he heard a low and familiar voice behind him.

"Then, guess if my gun has bullets?"

Yesterday, he had a premonition that he would be held at gunpoint by someone. When he saw Su Ling holding a gun, he thought it was her, but he didn't expect to be so unlucky that he ran into Sheng Hongye's gun.

Then he felt something was wrong; even if he didn't see the person's face, he should have been able to predict Sheng Hongye approaching from behind.

His predictions had always been more accurate the closer the event was in time, but at this moment, there was no sign in his mind.

What on earth was going on?

Did Sheng Hongye restrained his supernatural ability?

But back at the old base, Sheng Hongye didn't have it yet. So did he really gain an ability during this time that even he himself couldn't predict?

Suddenly, Sheng Hongye's wrist sank, and he said coldly, "I gave you two chances, yet you're still in Lizhou. You're simply seeking death."

Liu Yu panicked. "Mr. Sheng, I really didn't mean any harm. I just predicted that Su Ling can reinforce buildings, so I wanted to team up with her. If you disagree, then forget it."

Liu Yu wanted to predict if he would die, but the reflection in his glasses showed Sheng Hongye smirking.

With a sudden flick of his middle finger, the bullet swiftly pierced Liu Yu's temple. Red and white matter burst from the top of Liu Yu's head, sending his new glasses flying several meters away.

He extended his hand and placed it on Liu Yu's body, leaving it there for a whole minute before slowly pulling back.

"Liu Yu, what's going on with you?" Feng Weiwei immediately asked.

Sheng Hongye emerged from the pile of garbage.

Seeing someone with a peaked cap coming out of the ruins, Su Ling felt nervous, her finger almost pulled the trigger.

Only when she recognized Sheng Hongye did she release her grip.

Sheng Hongye gestured to her and walked towards Feng Weiwei.

Hearing the footsteps, Feng Weiwei couldn't help but curse, "You son of a bitch, Liu Yu, don't you dare come this way."

She felt a slight chill on her neck, and a slightly hot gun muzzle was pressed against her cervical vertebrae.

Startled, Feng Weiwei saw the pair of genuine leather Martin boots and instantly realized it wasn't Liu Yu.

At that moment, Su Ling and her three companions also arrived at the ruins.

She smiled at Sheng Hongye and said calmly, "Thank you."

Sheng Hongye raised an eyebrow, teasingly. "Do we still need to be so polite between us?"

Su Ling replied calmly, "Of course. I want to know how you knew where I was. Did you put a tracker on me or something?"

Sheng Hongye innocently replied, "I couldn't even get a phone signal. Do you think a tracker would work?"

"Then what else? Were you following me?" Su Ling asked directly.

Sheng Hongye shook his head, looking serious. "I've mentioned before, I can sense when you're in danger. Perhaps that's my ability."

Su Ling couldn't possibly believe such nonsense and scoffed before walking to the other side of the ruins, only to find that the wind-based ability user had already vanished.

She could only walk back to where Sheng Hongye was standing.

As if Sheng Hongye knew that the ability user had already escaped, he looked at Su Ling and asked, "What do you plan to do with this woman?"

Su Ling turned around and looked at Wang Pian and Luo Xiaobing and said, "What do you want to do?"

Seeing Feng Weiwei being held at gunpoint by Sheng Hongye, not daring to move, Luo Xiaobing couldn't help but feel excited. She looked at Su Ling and asked, "Sister, can I find an iron chain and tie her up?"
