Reborn as a Goddess with a World Creation System

Chapter 16: Monsters in Arcadia

Intrigued by the changes that were happening, Ariana decided to take a look at the humans' systems. She chose to start with Noah, one of the group members.

[Name: Noah]

[Power Level: 2 [Intermediate]]

[Age: 11 Years]

[Mana: 400]

[Strength: 180]

[Intelligence: 22]

[Magic: 120]

[Abilities: [Fencing Lv5], [Sonic Cut Lv2], [Burning Blade Lv1], [Precise Reflexes Lv2], [Swift Leap Lv1].

Ariana felt satisfaction as she observed Noah's skill progress. It was understandable that over a decade, his abilities had naturally evolved and improved.

She was surprised by Noah's new abilities.

[Sonic Cut]: The swordsman can swing his sword at incredible speed, creating a shockwave that is sent towards his target. This not only cuts his opponents but also temporarily stuns them due to the sonic impact.]

[Burning Blade]: The swordsman's sword is enveloped in flames, increasing the damage of his attacks. Additionally, fire attacks can cause burns, dealing additional damage over time.]

Noah's offensive abilities were truly impressive. Ariana was pleased with the remarkable improvement he had achieved. However, her curiosity remained unsatisfied.

"System, where do these abilities come from? Are they inherent to the System?" she asked, seeking a better understanding.

The System offered an enlightening explanation: "[In the universe, there are Laws that govern the natural functioning of some things. These Laws generate abilities automatically for individuals who require them. Their personal abilities are derived from these Laws with the System's intervention.]

Ariana became increasingly intrigued by the potential of the Laws governing Arcadia's universe. The idea of introducing them to her world to automate the creation of abilities crossed her mind but was quickly dismissed. After all, the deities were already there to play a significant role in the development and balance of Arcadia.

As she continued to examine the humans' Systems, Ariana noticed that all of them were classified at power level two. This was excellent news, indicating that they had developed remarkable abilities in just ten years. Aurora, for instance, displayed an impressive healing ability and could now briefly enhance her allies' skills.

Safira, on the other hand, had deepened her control over water, gaining the ability to transform water into ice and vice versa. Additionally, she was currently learning fire magic.

Aurora and Ekiles had also welcomed a newborn child, which kept Aurora busy caring for the infant.

Ariana continued to fly throughout Arcadia, exploring the wonders her world contained. She spotted a white whale swimming in the sky, diving into the clouds as if they were water. This peculiar creation, a result of Angely's error, had become an impressive and unique sight in Arcadia.

While flying over flowery fields and pastures, Ariana noticed a small group of goblins engaged in a battle with something that caught her attention: a giant slime. This slime was of colossal proportions, and, to Ariana's surprise, there were the remains of other goblins inside it, with some of them being dissolved by the gelatinous monster.

"Wow, I really didn't expect a slime to become something like this," she commented, surprised. She was aware that the evolution of creatures was determined by the Laws of the universe and the System, something not under her direct control. Although she could interfere in this process, for now, she chose to let things follow their natural course.

Curious, Ariana approached the giant slime to examine it more closely and gain a better understanding of how this creature had evolved.

[Name: Slime King]

[Power Level: 2]

[Mana: 670]

[Strength: 70]

[Intelligence: 13]

[Magic: 300]

[Abilities: [Regenerative Devour Lv1], [Rapid Multiplication Lv2], [Magic Absorption Lv1]

The Slime King, in its essence, was not an extraordinarily powerful creature, but its unique abilities made it a formidable adversary for goblins or any other living being that dared to confront it. What truly set it apart were its remarkable abilities:

One of them was [Rapid Multiplication]. When wounded, the Slime King had the ability to split into multiple smaller copies of itself, creating a horde of slimes that mercilessly overwhelmed its opponents. This ability made it an incredibly challenging foe to defeat.

Ariana observed in amazement the Slime King's abilities. She could only wish for the goblins who faced this creature to rest in peace, as it was evident they would have no chance against such a relentless opponent.

In the frozen lands, Glacius remained immobile, now completely covered in ice. Its presence was so imposing that it could easily be mistaken for an ice mountain.

Ariana continued her journey throughout Arcadia, exploring every corner of her world with great curiosity. She was fascinated by all the new developments that had arisen, but she understood that in just ten years, some significant changes, such as the increase in the human population or the total colonization of life in Arcadia, were transformations that required more time. There were still places that were untouched by life, and she knew that the evolution of her world was an ongoing process that would occur over the ages.

After wandering throughout Arcadia, Ariana decided to sit for a while beneath a tree, contemplating her next creations.

As Ariana witnessed the Slime King's evolution, she realized the importance of maintaining a balance among Arcadia's creatures, just as in nature, where predators control prey populations. She understood that monsters needed a system of balance to prevent overpopulation.

Deciding to act responsibly, Ariana purchased four [Creature Creation] with the intention of introducing four new monsters into Arcadia. However, this time, she was determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past. She planned to carefully observe the evolution of these creatures for a period and ensure they were placed in remote locations where they wouldn't pose threats to humans.

Ariana selected a remote and desolate location to create the first creature. It was a vast pasture with not a single flower in sight. Determined, she knelt and placed her hands on the ground, invoking her divine powers with the System's assistance. Soon, a majestic tree began to emerge from the ground, and on the tree was an impressive carved face.

[Name: Voracious Ent]

[Power Level: 2]

[Mana: 800]

[Strength: 230]

[Intelligence: 30]

[Magic: 478]

[Abilities: [Attract and Seduce Lv1], [Fatal Grasp Lv3], [Life Devour Lv2]

This was the first monster Ariana chose to create. Although it couldn't reproduce, it would be a valuable addition to Arcadia since its omnivorous diet allowed it to consume a variety of foods.

Ariana decided to observe Voracious Ent over time to evaluate its evolution and adaptation to the environment. She chose not to introduce all four creations into the world at once, thus avoiding potential unforeseen issues.

Ariana selected a nearby location to sit and observe. It was a vast pasture surrounded by several mountains. She sat atop one of them, where she had a privileged view of Voracious Ent and its surroundings.

Ariana watched the giant Ent with fascination and a hint of apprehension as the days passed.

The living tree seemed restless, its curious eyes scanning the surroundings as if searching for something. Its roots snaked through the ground, as if exploring, and the macabre face carved into the tree moved, turning in all directions. It was an impressive sight, but also somewhat eerie.

As time passed, Ariana noticed that other trees began to sprout around Voracious Ent. The once-empty pasture was now a place teeming with plant life. Colorful flowers and other trees started to bloom, transforming the arid landscape into a lush and vibrant area.

The presence of Voracious Ent appeared to be fostering the growth of vegetation in that region. In no time, small animals, in search of a new home and food, began to gather in the area. Competition for territory soon began, and Ariana witnessed an epic battle between a large gorilla and a bear, both determined to dominate the newly born forest.

The battle was intense and prolonged, with both opponents displaying incredible strength and determination. Eventually, the gorilla emerged as the victor, proclaiming its dominance over all other animals in the region. It advanced to the center of the forest, climbing the tallest tree as if to establish its status as the king of that place.

While the gorilla rested atop the tree, it was unaware that something sinister was about to happen. A macabre and terrifying face began to form behind it, with a sadistic smile and hungry eyes. Ariana watched as Voracious Ent performed its meal with a sense of horror. The creature devoured the large gorilla with brutality, tearing it in half and chewing its flesh with ravenous hunger. Blood splattered in all directions as the Ent consumed its prey.

When the meal came to an end, Ariana noticed that the huge and macabre face of Voracious Ent had disappeared, leaving behind only a common tree, now stained with blood. It was a shocking sight, and Ariana felt a mixture of curiosity and unease about this new creature she had brought to Arcadia.
