NOVEL FROG Survivors
'You said it would be in four months...' Saya sighed and walked along the hallways together with another person, 1-B Hirano Kouta... the boy was visually nervous.
Saya was upset, the whole deal between her mother and her boyfriend had placed a visually weighty toll on her body. Forming part of the whole 'harem' was about as far as she could have imagined herself to go... the whole scenario between Yuriko and Brand hadn't been surprising for she had her suspicions... what had been shocking was the way everything had come down.
Just as she was trying to settle her mind on what to do, the catastrophe starts out of nowhere.
'Give me a break will you...'
She had taken the boy from the classroom he was in after all the students ran madly along the corridors.
"T-Takagi-san!? where did you get that Glock?!"
"None of your business, I'm surprised you know this gun, though?"
"International Law Enforcement Standard gun, Glock 17, I can see that model is 3rd gen 9mm cartridge, low recoil gun!"
"Okey...?" Saya's eyebrows twitched, especially when she saw the stars in the eyes of Hirano and his panting breaths.
'This guy has been playing too much counter strike...'
"Can I use it, Takagi-san? I swear I can protect you with this!"
"Not in a million years..." She never willingly hand over a gun to someone else, and possibly get molested by this panting pervert? no... let alone the possible abuse, the slap she'd get from her mother for doing such a ridiculous thing would be astronomical.
Her denial made him downcast, they walked through and found themselves in a corner to go downstairs.
'The gunshots from a moment ago must have been Lucy or Brand... or maybe Shizuka? in any case... they couldn't have done anything more stupid' she sighed in irritation... just a moment ago she had been doing tests.
Throwing things on 'them' made her know that they don't have any pain receptors or even senses at all... only two things seem to work and it is their balance and hearing sense.
'Getting bitten and possibly scratched, both mean death... I need to find Brand' she didn't want to see her boyfriend for a while, but right now wasn't the time to throw a fit.
She harrumphed and continued onwards with Hirano, 'Hmph! you better stay safe, Brand. If someone will strangle you to death it will be me'.

[Rei's POV]
Takashi-kun killed Hisashi-kun in front of my eyes, my childhood friends.
He was going to be transformed into one of them, and there was no choice. After that I tried calling my father and only managed to exchange a few words with him before the call cut off, there is no signal.
I'm currently heading down from the rooftop with him, Hisashi-kun had been bitten to protect me and in the end -in order to not transform into one of them- Takashi-kun killed him. I have an improvised lance and Takashi-kun has a baseball bat, at least we can protect ourselves with this.
I don't know what madness is going on, the phone line doesn't work, nothing is working... it has been a while since the school went silent which only means one thing... there are very few survivors.
From the rooftop, we saw how the whole school is surrounded and smoke is coming from several places in Tokonotsu City, this is a catastrophe.
The first thing that came to my mind though, is how Brand-kun has been training with Saeko-san, Saya and Lucy-chan... even Shizuka-sensei... their training regime was harsh and he even got a mansion for this purpose, I couldn't help but tie some dots but... that's impossible, he couldn't possibly know that this was going to happen.
"Where should we go next, Rei?" Takashi-kun asked me, I have no idea... I sat on the stairs with my boyfriend, clueless.
"We have to find Brand-kun, he will know what to do..." I couldn't suggest anything else, there had been gunshots and I know that he and the girls were training their marksmanship in the mansion under Yuriko-san's tutelage, which means any of them managed to conceal a gun and bring it to the school.
"Why?" Takashi asked me suspiciously... I guess he has the right to be a little jealous... it is odd but despite him being my girlfriend, I still spend more time with Brand-kun than with Takashi... most of the time I don't walk back with him but instead I'm driven to the mansion to train with them by Shizuka-sensei... we have only had a single date after going out for two weeks.
Going out with Takashi-kun... wasn't as I expected it to be.
"He always knows... let's go..." I pulled Takashi down the stairs and it didn't take a while before we encountered another group of people... my eyes twitched when I found Yuuki Miku together with two boys walking along the second floor, seemingly lost; they were walking at turtle's pace.
When her eyes met mine her initial reaction was fear before it transformed into relief.
"Rei-san..."
"Miku..."
Takashi introduced himself to the boys who turned out to be third years.
"W-What should we do, they're all over the school!"
"First off, don't make so much noise... it is better if we regroup with more people along the way, looking for a safe place, the best bet is the cafe since there is food in there" I suggested, so far we know by looking at the windows that the whole place is surrounded, I don't know how can we get out of here, but we should be prepared to stay a long time here until help comes our way, the best place to do so is the cafe where all the food is.
"Who made you the leader, Rei-san..." I heard that voice from behind me, one of the senpais had taken me and Takashi's side, but the other was beside Miku, taking her side.
I turned around with a cold glare that immediately made her shiver, even Takashi wasn't happy with what she said.
"Do you have a better plan, Miku?" I asked her, already aware that her objective is merely to upset me.
She grits her teeth and shook her head, this bitch better knows her place... I know we're enemies because I beat her the last time, but now is not the time for pettiness.
Along our path towards the cafe, we found another group... I sighed in relief.
It is Saeko-san and Shizuka-sensei.
"Rei and... Yuuki Miku" Saeko-san nodded towards us and her glare seemed to be remarkably sadistic against Miku, worthy of Brand's girlfriend...
"Rei-chan!" Shizuka hugged me with her warmth, just what I need right now that my chest is stinging with jealousy. I merely exhaled a relaxing breath and leaned on her bubbly chest, patting her back... she's the one I had been worrying about the most just of how clumsy she is at all times.
"Busujima-senpai..." Miku addressed Saeko but the latter seemed to ignore her and instead greeted our 3rd-year senpais.
"We're going to the cafe right now, what is your plan, Busujima-senpai" Takashi asked her, taking a little of a leadership role for once.
"First of all you should all take your shoes away, those things are attracted to noise, the more silent we are, the better... I have no definite plan, Brand was outside the school... my intention is merely to regroup, we can all then think what to do".
We all looked at one another and concluded that it is the best option, the more we are the better we can protect ourselves.
I just hope there is a way out of this mess.
Then, both Saeko-san and I failed to notice Yuuki's poison, and it would bite us harshly later.
