High School of the Dead: Zombie World with a Gacha

I have been threading carefully with Kyoko and Lucy, by now Lucy realised that those Zombies don't have senses but have a ridiculous hearing sense; which means that firing shots was a mistake at first. So far I haven't heard a single more shot and that's relieving, it means that none of my girls has been compelled to use their guns.

The school went deadly silent and soon the sun will fall completely, we need to be out of there before night comes or it will become dangerous.

"Where should we go, Brand?" Lucy asked me as we have no real destination, I'm just hoping to meet my girls along the way.

"We won't all fit in Shizuka's car... we need to find our way to the bus".

"If you want the bus then we need to get into the teacher's main room, the keys are there".

Kyoko has been behaving well so far... although she does show repulsion towards the corpses, that's normal. She knows how to follow instructions and gives good ideas, it seems saving her wasn't a mistake. I nodded towards the two of them and it was then Kyoko who began leading the way towards the main room, but just as we were about to cross into the main hall I heard some nimble noise coming from the other side of the corridor.

*THUD!*

The body of a zombie fell far away, calling for the other's attention and clearing the room for us. I saw how a boy walked out of the corner together with my girlfriend, Saya... the moment we caught each other's glance, it was as if relief seeped through.

Saya jumped on my arms and I hugged her tightly, we were supposed to be fighting, but... at least she cares about me enough to leave her 'tsunderism' for even a second.

*Cough!*

Kyoko coughed and glared at the two of us... I know I know... explicit intimate relations within the campus are prohibited, but you can't possibly expect me to abide by the rule in these circumstances can you? as it stands... society is gone, and there are no rules anymore.

Anyway, Kyoko ended up ruining our moment and making Saya push me away regaining her 'cold' persona. There were no words exchanged between us at first, just relief.

"It is good to see you're safe, Lucy... you too, Brand" She evaded my gaze, this girl... she even called Lucy first on purpose, she's earning herself a good spanking.

"Could you two leave me out of the relationship drama?" Lucy sighed earning a scowl from the two of us; her gaze then fixed on the boy just like I did, what is that in his hands?

"You're 1-B Hirano Kouta, right?~"

"Y-Yes... Mercer-san... nice to meet you, oh... you have a Glock as well." The boy went all flustered when Lucy spoke to him, perhaps surprised that she recalled his name. He'd be surprised to know that Lucy knows the name of everyone in the first year. 

Once again, I'm interested in the gun that he has, what is that? he used that to shoot a zombie a second ago.

Saya seemed to notice my gaze and for some reason, she puffed out her big chest; by eyebrows twitched.

"I found Hirano and we have been surviving together since, he even knows a lot about guns and created this on his own, it is a nailer turned into a gun~ it is silent and won't cause trouble like the noisy gun"

I realised that he literally improvised his own 'crossbow'... by all right I can stop using it since I now know the blood itself is not infectious so long as it doesn't enter the body, even then... it is dangerous to be storing the bloodied arrows back into my inventory, if I'm not careful enough, that thing will fall in my mouth or even my eye.

I was thinking about all this when I noticed something in Saya's speech... she just called that boy without honorifics.

"Hirano, huh?" I glared at her piercingly and her whole body perked up like a scared cat. However, instead of explaining herself, Saya instead stood defiantly in front of me, puffing out her chest even more as if to 'intimidate me'. Girl... the only thing you're doing is making me want to squeeze them right here.

"W-What, are you jealous, Brand? we're classmates, that's all" Saya blushed but held her ground.

"That better be the case..."

She and I formed some sparks between one another before she finally relented and let go, "We're going to the teacher's main room, Kyoko said that we can pick up the bus' keys from there, I plan to do just that as we all wouldn't fit in Shizuka's car".

"Now that I think about it, Brand-kun... you have been calling me Kyoko without honorifics as well" Now it was this teacher's turn to puff her chest as well, really what's going on with these ladies... see? Hirano is blushing and covering his crotch.

"Is there a problem with that, K-Y-O-K-O?~" It was my time to stand in front of her defiantly, so close that I was invading her personal space.

"B-Brand-kun, you..." She clenched her hands and blushed at my proximity, a surprise... does she think I'm going to forget how she literally wanted me to repeat a grade with maths? I have yet to ask her what is the reason for her pettiness, but right now is not the moment.

"Taking the bus is indeed the best option. But we must find Shizuka and Saeko... they may not know what our plan is and we're not going to coincide with one another" Saya suggested, as expected of a genius.

Thankfully, we didn't have to wait for long before meeting one another.

The first group we found was that of Rei and Takashi who were together with two fellows from the third year and also, Yuuki Miku...

When our gaze met Yuuki jumped on me and she would have been able to make it if Lucy and Saya hadn't stepped in the middle defiantly; how curious, I could swear you were trying to make me jealous a few moments ago, Saya.

"Brand! I'm so happy that you're safe! I have been looking for you!"

I heard a set of grunts coming from my girls and also Rei.

"Make some distance, Miku..."

"No need to be so cold to me, Takagi-san... I was just worried about Brand".

I will never understand why my girls feel so threatened about Miku, I look at her mostly indifferently but they... their gazes are poisonous, is it because her breasts are big?

"You too, Miku" I answered to her nonchalantly; the third years introduced themselves to me... I can tell one of them has the hots for Miku while the other looks rational. The moment I see suspicious movement, I'm going to put an arrow in any of their heads, even Miku... though I'd hope not to reach that stage.

...

"I see, so Hisashi was going to transform into one of them. How sad" Rei explained to me everything she went through with tears in her eyes, she even hugged me.

I couldn't care less... but it was indeed unfortunate; between Takashi and Hisashi, the latter was more physically adept for the apocalypse; he ended up dying because he never saw Zombie movies... going to do a wrestling move against a Zombie? are you out of your fucking mind?

He was looking for death and he found it along the corridor.

"What is your plan, Brand?" Rei approached me, holding my shirt even as she cleaned her tears. I lifted my eyebrows in confusion to look at Takashi who was in an awkward position; I think he was in an internal debate wondering whether it is normal for his girlfriend to be so close to another boy.

'It isn't Takashi, it isn't'.

Did these two break up in the middle of the apocalypse or something, why is she being this close to me all of a sudden?

I brushed her hand aside, something that momentarily shocked her, "We're heading to the teacher's main room where we can find keys for the bus, but I need to find Saeko and Shizuka first, you all want you can go ahead without us".

I naturally pulled Lucy and Saya with me but Kyoko, Rei, Takashi, Miku and the senpais were reluctant to be left on their own; especially Kyoko who had been together with me thus far. She unashamedly pulled from my shirt.

"I will stick with you wherever you go, Brand-kun".

I nodded to her and we were about to go on our way but it wasn't necessary to separate; two girls tiptoed from downstairs barefooted. They were Saeko and Shizuka, astonishingly enough, my purple-haired girlfriend was holding a bloodied real katana. She did tell me that she intended to get a real katana inside the school before in case the catastrophe came while we were at school, but I didn't pay that much attention to her, instead focusing on our mansion, confident that we still had four bloody months to prepare.

That will be the last time I don't pay attention to anything Saeko tells me.

"We're here... no need to go anywhere~" Saeko pulled me into her embrace followed by Shizuka who pulled Lucy into her embrace, I guess since Saeko has me occupied she jumped for the next one in the row.

"Lucy-chan!"

"Shizuka don't scream!" Saya scolded her immediately, this blonde beauty was as clumsy as ever.

Once again the group introduced each other before we began making our way away from some Zombies that were alerted by Shizuka's irresponsible shout.

"I found Shizuka in the infirmary, she was surrounded together with a student" Saeko explained to us and it only made me start pulling on Shizuka's cheeks with popping veins.

"You weren't sleeping in the middle of the apocalypse, were you?~"

"Of course not, Brand-chan!" She said with an almost unintelligible voice since I'm pulling on her cheeks; I know she was lying but I can't blame her anyway, this all fell on us all of the sudden.

"Shizuka-sensei, you're acting unbecomingly..." Kyoko stated, for some reason her gaze seemed to look at Shizuka with a little bit of poison, what's going on here?

"I'm sorry, Kyoko-sensei... but I'm happy that you're okay~"

"Hu hum, me too... should we wait for any more students, Brand-kun?" Kyoko asked me, switching her gaze away from Shizuka. Everyone in the group, particularly the senpais, Kyoko and Rei seemed to be begging me with their eyes to wait for any sign of life, someone we could help.

But we don't have that leisure if we don't get away from here by night... at the very least we must find a place where we can stay for the night without fearing zombies to barge recklessly inside the room... what I fear is that their numbers will increase overnight and it will be more difficult to flee.

"No, I have no one else to wait for... let's go to this room and get those keys, we need to clear out of this school, the sooner the better".

I will think later about where I'm going to drop these people off before heading to our mansion; right now... we need to get away from here.

'Once I have some respite I need to check my stats... so far I have killed two zombies, and Lucy has killed three... did I get some points for them?'
