High School of the Dead: Zombie World with a Gacha

Destination

Everyone had woken up successfully, well... some were easier than others but that's beyond the point.

I was standing in front of an outraged Shizuka and a fuming Rei. They were in the middle of the group with everyone already prepared, having worn clean clothes that had been washed and dried during the evening. The sun shone lightly above us on a rather cloudy day. It is the morning and we're ready to go.

"Hirano, Higuchi..." I called both of the boys and they stepped forward. I materialised a baseball bat that looked just like Takashi's and handed it over to the surprised senpai. With this, he should be able to defend himself better than with the stick. Their gazes contained curiosity, especially Takashi since he noticed it was exactly the same bat down to the last scratch.

"Thank you, Brand-kun".

I merely nodded towards the senpai and turned towards Hirano, stretching my hand forward holding a Glock. He was immediately mesmerized and looked between me and himself as if saying 'is this for me?'.

I nodded again; this time with a smile and stretched it further. I sort of understand what personality this boy has... he's the type that's submissive, introverted and bullied... which inherently makes me trust him. However, the moment you give this guy a gun; he transforms into a zombie-killing machine.

I couldn't have expected that just like Saeko... guess you genuinely know no one until you know them.

Hirano took the gun from me and examined it with awe, "Thank you! I will treasure it!"

"Kill a bunch of them..." I ordered him but by then he was in his own world. I ended up handing him his cartridges and hoping they will last him for a while.

I did the same for my yawning beauties, "So you don't mind the noise anymore, do you?"

"I do, but if it comes down to us it... I hope we will all have what we need as I will be too busy to make more in the spot" I answered Lucy who struggled to keep all of the cartridges together. Thankfully this house had several old bags... everyone took one each and we were sorted.

"You know I don't like these things..." Saeko was annoyed when I handed her cartridges but seeing my insistence decided against making a fuss. I don't give a shit what she likes or not as long as she's safe... she's deadly with the sword, but I don't know if that will work against Blackwatch.

All of them were armed and ready except one person.

"I would give you one Kyoko, but you don't know how to use a gun..." I told her, troubled... I could give her one even if she doesn't know how to use it, but it could cause an accident.

The teacher clenched her fists towards me and nodded, "Next time please give me one... even if I don't know how to... I need to learn".

Her comment brought surprised me and the girls, to think she was willing to learn... usually, those people would be like 'I won't touch a gun ever in my life, ewww...'

But whether it was her own determination or what happened yesterday, something had changed in her.

"Then once we arrive in the Takagi Household I'll ask Yuriko to give you some lessons".

"No need, choom... I can get her nice and ready for the zombies in no time~" Lucy smirked, our deadpans technically irradiated her... she's got no pedagogy. If I leave Kyoko with Lucy, she will turn into a gangster, pointing guns everywhere even at her comrades.

I was about to refuse.

"Forget about this girl, you can leave that to me Brand... I can teach her the basics" Saya waved her hair aside, technically slapping Lucy; making my rainbow girlfriend growl.

"I will leave you to that then" I feel relieved if it is Saya, she's not an expert, but she knows enough and has pedagogy.

Having finished our arrangement I took my crossbow and addressed the whole group in general, still ignoring Rei's piercing glare.

'Was she expecting me to give her a gun? or is she angry that I splashed cold water on her in the morning?' I thought, troubled. I can't tell what this girl is thinking anymore. If other girls are an enigma, this girl is like a planet-sized puzzle.

...

"Anyway. You have everything you need; the plan for today is simple... we're looking for a big enough vehicle and also food... we won't be coming back here either"

My words made them downcast, it had been a rather nice night, but we may not be lucky enough next time to find a place as cosy as this... perhaps on our way if we don't find a vehicle, we may need to sleep under the bridge or something, nobody knows... but we can't stop.

Saya raised up her hand, amusing me since she behaved as if we were still in class... I nodded and allowed her to speak.

"I know the layout around here; there should be a supermarket two blocks down the street... I doubt it will be empty... the catastrophe started without enough time and people shouldn't have had time to replenish themselves..."

She's saying that we may encounter opposition in that supermarket.

"There is a chance that the spot will be filled by them..." Takashi added.

"It doesn't matter... we secure the food and the vehicles and we're good to go... I want you all to be extra cautious and don't use your guns unless necessary... there are way more dangerous things than Zombies out there"

My worst sounded cryptic and they didn't understand. I exchanged a few gazes with Lucy and she nodded. I hadn't told her about the incident with Blackwatch yet... but I dead sure want her to research that name once we have some access to the internet.

With all said, they started moving away the furniture that we used to cover the building's main gate, it seems something happened during the night because the other side of the blurred glass was covered in blood... I guess someone tried to enter but the doors were closed tightly, the zombies enjoyed their meal there and then.

I watched them perform this task as Shizuka pulled my shirt, calling for my attention. I pulled my blonde beauty aside.

"Brand-chan, do you remember Rika-chan's crib?"

"I do... why?"

"Well... she told me she had guns in there once, a long time ago..." Shizuka fidgeted as I glared at her like, for real?

"You never told me that..." I know that Rika is a police officer and a high-ranked one, but I don't know the specifics... to think she has a place full of guns for me to scan. I hope they're not broken or defective.

"Well, those are illegal guns, it is not something she wanted me to share... but now that we know, is that helpful to you?" She asked hopefully and I patted her head as if she was my cute pet. Oddly enough this mature beauty that could pass as a milf giggled satisfied at my pats.

"Of course it is. We could stop along the way... it is only a slight diversion towards the North, which could be our next destination before crossing the bridge"

Supposing we get the vehicle that I want, that crib is not too far away
