Evolution Theory of the Hunter

Chapter 145

After about an hour of rest, the Chungho Group began attacking. For now, they weren’t putting in their full force.

The government still had over 4,000 so it seems they’re thinking about chipping at their stamina by changing the ones attacking.

For a large scale battle against hunters, area of effect attacks were the best. Magic and techniques rampaged everywhere. The fireball that landed on the wooden barricade started a fire and a lightning attack was shot on top of it.

A thousand arrows rained down from inside the wooden barricade. Each one of them carried immense force as they fell on the Chungho Group’s base.

Boom!

With a large explosion, dozens of Chungho Group members got ripped to shreds. Behind them, a storm of ice was created while lightning was sweeping through the place.

Highly accurate bows that were more accurate than a sniper rifle shot into the eyes of the enemy.

However, most blocked them with shields or armor and charged into the barricade.

Then, the Chungho Group’s melee hunters soon crashed into the wooden barricade.

With a single collision, the wooden barricade that was made with 3 stacks got destroyed. In the end, the quickly made wooden barricade was of no use in front of hunters.

“Charge!”

Someone shouted, the Chungho Group poured in through the broken wooden barricade like a tide.

And a blood splattering bloody battle started inside the barricade.

“Whew…… It makes one shiver just from looking at it.”

Han Joon-suk let out a light sigh.

About 30 minutes into the battle, the government team succeeded in pushing back the Chungho Group. In the end, the Chungho Group had no choice but to retreat after there were several hundred casualties.

The cheering at the short victory was only a moment. The Chungho Group immediately deployed a second round of troops.

The government team that had to battle again without rest had visibly less morale. However, it seems they thought that it was still doable since it didn’t seem like they were planning on giving up the battle.

“If it’s like this then the timing to go in become awkward…….”

The Chungho Group’s message was simple. They were saying, how long can you guys possibly last. They are telling them to cleanly surrender rather than get wiped out after getting exhausted.

Also, that was the conclusion that I least wanted.

I at least had to make it so that the Chungho Group can’t be so laid back.

However, speaking of methods I only had the method of attacking their backs with the monster army. However, it was not a good idea to jump into the Chungho Group that had their formation up.

If it wasn’t until we could completely defeat them, then the loss on my side would pile up and we would lose instead of them if that happened.

I had to make it so that they attacked with all they had somehow. As expected, it would be best to hit their backs.

I was wondering what to do running my brain at full power when the eagles that were reconing suddenly cried out.

What was this?

The movements of the eagles wasn’t normal. If what I was looking at was correct, then there were things coming from dozens of directions.

“Seonbae oppa, look at this!”

Soo-ah put her phone in front of me. There, a video of lieutenant Son Aram was being played.

– Currently, the government army’s battle with the Chungho Group in the forest region is continuing. I do not want to admit it but we are in an incredibly inferior position. If this area were to be taken then there will not be an area that Korea’s hunters can hunt in anymore. I will ask this of the hunters in the swamp and forest regions. Please lend us the power to defeat these people. The government army’s defeat will not simply end as our defeat. It is a serious matter where from the forest, the swamp region and the entire Yellow Sea could be taken.

Son Aram’s expression looked incredibly desperate.

“It hasn’t even been 1 hour since the video got uploaded and it already passed 100,000 views.”

“It makes sense.”

Either way, it was the first head on collision with China’s hunters after several decades. The Chungho Group wasn’t a group that their government officially recognized but it still a type of battle of pride.

Because of that, it was pulling quite a bit of attention from not only hunters but even civilians.

The eagles started crying even more fiercely.

There was no way monsters would come to this place. That was definitely the hunters that were hunting in the surroundings gathering.

However, they were gathering while being completely scattered. If they didn’t have a definite center then there is a high chance they wouldn’t be able to help much.

I hurriedly summoned the Agentaya Mongol Horses.

We had to gather those people in one place for now.

– Wow haha, why did so many people gather here?

– I thought I was the only one going but there’s a lot.

– I came to watch…… But it’s mood whee I think I have no choice but to fight.

– Does something come our way if we win there?

– Hey. But isn’t this really dangerous?

– Then is fighting monsters safe?

– That’s true.

– Let’s participate if we’re Korean.

– To be honest, if the forest region is taken then we don’t have a place to hunt anymore. If not for something in particular, come. If you don’t want to suck on your fingers all day.

Comments were coming up rapidly on the market bulletin board.

Someone for patriotism, someone for sightseeing, and someone gathered to try to gather expensive items.

Everybody didn’t have a united opinion but once they were gathered they amounted to 3,000.

It was a number that really couldn’t be believed.

“Why were so many people in the forest region?”

“I think the situation of the lack of monsters is that severe.”

Han Joon-suk said. He said it in an indifferent way but I could tell that he was surprised as well.

I gathered all the hunters that were gathered and moved in a single direction.

I didn’t know how I would take command of this group that had all kinds of people but there were more people that recognized me than I thought so it was solved easily.

That was all that to that bulletin board. There were many people that had seen me use the monster army and word went around from the people that noticed that the horses we were using were the same as the ones in the video.

The gathering of the 3,000 hunters went well but there was a chance that this bunch of rif rafs would run away if given the time to.

There was a good way to not give them the time to run away.

I immediately summoned the large scale monster army and charged towards the Chungho Group. The 3,000 normal hunters followed from behind. With this, a huge army of over 5,000 was complete. If it was this much, even the Chungho Group wouldn’t be able to ignore it.

“To team up with a monster while I’m alive.”

“There’s all kind of weird things that happen in the world huh.”

“Yeah. Even just a while ago I was fighting with that monkey.”

Murmur murmur.

Even if they were allies, it couldn’t be helped that they would feel disharmony fighting with monsters. However, although the monsters that were moving in an orderly way looked terrifying, they all seemed quite reliable.

The Chungho Group could not attack the base anymore. They should already know about the hunters’ movements and they had also been beaten by the monster army before so they could be destroyed if they separated their troops.

But if one were to ask if running away was an option, that wasn’t true either.

Over 90% of the forest region was covered densely with trees. It was normally a terrain that was easy to run away in.

However, the story was different if the enemy was monsters. The monsters that I had summoned were optimized for activity in the forest region and the monsters that had developed senses of smell and hearing had the upper hand in the forest.

If their backs were caught while escaping then that would be the end for them. Since they were not able to keep formation easily between the trees they had no choice but to be wiped out without being able to counter attack.

It seems the ones in the base also noticed our movements because they started making a commotion.

How would Joo Sae-yoon act.

What was important was his movements. If the government team came out after we charged in first then that would be the best.

However, I was thinking that he wouldn’t do so.

He was thirsty for achievements. He was probably thinking that he had to stand out more than others somehow.

In that case, there is a high chance he would only start moving once we start a fight with the Chungho Group’s 10,000 and lose most of our troops.

Like what I was planning on doing.

And that would be his greatest mistake.

The Chungho Group that had surrounded the base started breaking apart and grouping in a single location.

It would be easier to destroy them if we hit their side but our side had our own problems.

There needed to be time for the 3,000 hunters to settle and for them to get used to the monsters.

For that, both sides needed time to straighten out their formations and it took two hours just to set up positions. It was impossible to use detailed tactics with a quickly formed group of hunters that were well known for not listening.

Charging or not charging. Those were the only options.

I got on the Black Tiger and scanned through the hunters.

Thousands of hunters and thousands of monsters. The figure of them mixed up was a weird sight even to me. Some were even taking selfies while standing next to the monsters. Was there really no way to get these guys to not use SNS.

“Shouldn’t you say something?”

Soo-ah whispered. It was right before a large scale battle.

I have also seen commanders giving speeches to raise morale right before battle in movies and stuff.

However, these people were hunters. No matter what I said, they were already battle specialists and so knew about battles better than many others. Most of the ones here probably had more experience than me.

I was not a person that was standing above these people and neither was a person leading them.

I was only a link connecting them who each had their own objective.

That’s why there no need nor reason to stimulate them with words.

I held up the Dancing Sword high in the air.

Everyone’s sights focused on me.

Instead of a long speech, I swung down towards the Chungho Group.

“All units charge!”

Ahhh!

*Roar*!

A battle cry of humans and monsters got mixed and exploded out.

Monster and hunters started running side by side.

Some got on the monsters that they got friendly with although I didn’t tell them to. There were quite a few guys that saw it and followed suit.

“Hah!”

A guy with a long spear shot forward as he kicked the side of a Longhorn Wild Boar. It felt like I was looking at a warrior from the Records of the Three Kingdoms.

I couldn’t let them get in front of me.

I held the back of the Black Tiger’s neck and commanded.

“To the front.”

The giant Black Tiger flew in the air. Looking at the figure going dozens of meters forward with a single jump, the guy on the wild boar looked at me with a blank expression.

“I will kill you…….”
