American Comics: The Mighty Superman, Starting From Gwen Spider

Chapter 12: Hunters From The Multi-Universe

In the wilderness.

Peter mercilessly threw the claymore in his hand onto the grass beside him.

"How long are you going to pretend?" Peter said indifferently.

The cold voice startled Claymore, who was lying on the ground.

After two seconds of silence, Claymore got up from the ground and looked at Peter in front of him. "You knew I was faking it?"

"I could hear your heartbeat returning to normal."

Claymore looked at the Superman in front of him, dressed in a black battle suit, with a sense of oppression emanating invisibly from him, making him feel a bit breathless.

Peter crossed his arms and looked at Claymore. "You don't belong to this universe?"

Claymore fell into deep thought at these words. In his understanding, Superman was basically the representative of a kind and just superhero who wouldn't easily kill.

If the Superman in front of him, dressed in a black battle suit, was really the kind and just superhero from DC comics... then Claymore shouldn't be in any danger. That's what Claymore thought.

But soon Claymore realized that the Superman in front of him was definitely not the kind and just being from the comics.

Seeing Claymore's lack of response, Peter's eyes turned red, and visible red vein-like patterns appeared around his eyes.

"Buzz—"

A high-pitched, piercing buzzing sound rang out, and then a pair of crimson, scorching beams of light blasted onto Claymore's chest.

Under the intense burning of the Heat Ray, Klayven's chest was being charred at a visible rate.

"Ah! Ah! Ah! Ah!!!"

Klayven let out a heart-wrenching scream, the intense pain in his chest causing him to breathe rapidly, with cold sweat appearing on his back and forehead.

Fortunately, the scorching heat only lasted for a second.

"I'm not asking you, I'm telling you to answer me," Peter's cold voice made Klayven's heart race.

Looking up at Superman, who was looking down on him with indifference, Klayven's forehead broke out in sweat as he realized that this guy in front of him was tough.

As a person who knew the situation, Klayven quickly spoke up, "I mean, I can say anything I know! Superman, stop!"

After Klayven blurted out these words, he clearly saw Superman's expression soften a bit.

Suppressing the intense pain in his chest, Klayven took a deep breath and said in a deep voice, "I did indeed come from another universe, with the purpose of hunting down every Spider-Man in each universe."

"Oh?" Peter looked at the pale-faced Klayven, feeling quite surprised.

If Peter remembered correctly, the hunter Klayven was just one of the weaker opponents among the many enemies of Spider-Man.

Although in the comics, Klayven had a record of hunting down Spider-Man, most of the time he was defeated by Spider-Man.

And, Peter had seen the setup of the hunter Klayven, he didn't have the ability to travel through universes.

Definitely, this doesn't rule out the possibility of some kind of mutation occurring in a Marvel universe, causing the hunter Klayven to gain the ability to travel through multiple universes...

"How did you obtain the ability to travel through universes?"

"In an unexpected accident, Doctor Octopus and Green Goblin in the universe I was in developed a new device that could observe the multi-universe."

"In another experiment, the new device exploded, and I happened to be passing by and accidentally gained this ability."

Peter listened without expressing agreement or disagreement, unsure of the truthfulness of Hunter Cletus' words.

After a moment of contemplation, Peter suddenly asked, "Do you know the number of this universe?"

The sudden question caused Cletus' pupils to contract.

Only those who have knowledge of the multi-universe know that each universe has a different number.

Cletus, who possesses the ability to travel through the multi-universe, naturally knows the numbers of the universes he has been to.

And the fact that Superman in front of him can ask this question indicates that he has a deep understanding and awareness of the multi-universe?!

As Cletus thought about this, his fear grew even stronger.

Not daring to be negligent, Cletus quickly answered Peter, "This is Earth-65 universe..."

"You said you successfully hunted several Spider-men. What are the numbers of the universes those Spider-men belong to?"

"Earth-3123, Earth-6799, Earth-51778, Earth-120703."

Cletus listed the numbers of the four universes he had been to.

The first three numbers did not stir any emotions in Peter's heart.

When Peter heard the last universe number spoken by Klayven, a ripple of emotion stirred within him.

Earth-120703, the universe of the live-action Spider-Man movie "Amazing Spider-Man," which means that the Amazing Spider-Man was killed by Klayven??

"Tell me about the Earth-120703 universe, what have you done there?"

Klayven didn't know what Peter's intention was, but still said, "The most impressive thing about the Earth-120703 universe is that in this universe, Peter Parker hadn't even had a chance to become Spider-Man before I hunted him down..."

"I see." A bright smile appeared on Peter's face. "I'm glad you're an honest person."

"I've told you everything I know. Can you let me go now?"

"Sorry, I never said I would let you leave."

"You--"

Seeing the dazzling red light in Peter's eyes, Klayven's expression suddenly changed.

In a state where Klayven couldn't react at all, two beams of ultra-high temperature heat vision shot out from Peter's eyes.

Klayven, who had been looking for an opportunity to activate his ability to travel through dimensions, didn't even have a chance to scream before his body was instantly melted into a pile of ashes by the superheated beams.
