YIN-YANG DEVOURER

Surprise Ambush? Part 2 (26)

Path of the Giant Trees, Current Events.

"Little Ling'er go to your mother" Ruvan said kindly as he gently lowered Ling'er from Viridis head.

"Be careful big brother Jakob," the girl tenderly warned as she ran as fast as she could towards the carriage where her mother and new friend Xin was.

"Well Wiltord? I imagine you brought more company, right?" Ruvan asked with a smile as he unsheathed his spear.

'Mmm I don't like that this bastard acted so calm...'

'Although it wouldn't be strange for him to be acting like this in order to fool me, after all this brat is a very deceitful bastard' Wiltord's head was spinning but he finally consoled himself as he gave the signal to the rest of the wandering cultivators to do their appearance.

Ten figures quickly appeared among the bushes, each of them exuding an aura of the Golden Core Realm.

One of them even seemed to be in the middle stages of the Golden Core Realm. No doubt this formation would cause destruction wherever it passed on this continent, however Ruvan's men did not seem to be intimidated.

"Mmm, that boy is quite handsome… I wouldn't mind eating him" said one of the female cultivators who had made her appearance. If there was a word to describe her it would be 'disgusting' after all she was an elderly woman wearing blood red lip gloss.

The rest of the cultivators were clearly mercenaries or assassins that Wiltord had met in his decades of mercenary career. Mercenary work allowed one to meet all kinds of cultivators and this group of people gathered today under Wiltord was a clear example of that.

'We are completely surrounded... It seems that in the end dying one way or another was our destiny... I wonder what sin I committed in my past life to deserve what we are experiencing with my daughter' Su Meiyao thought bitterly as she watched how they were completely surrounded by Wiltord's mercenaries and wandering cultivators.

Although she had confidence in the strength of Ruvan and his group, it was not like they were invincible either. The numbers mattered in the end and this also applied in battles between cultivators.

"Well Wiltord? Did you finally find the balls to face me?" Ruvan mocked with a smile which transformed Wiltord's smiling face into one completely green with anger.

"Damn bastard… I want to see if you can make that smile of yours again when I put your spear up your ass" Wiltord shouted angrily as he unsheathed his gigantic hammer.

"Oh come on buddy don't be angry… I heard that if you get too angry your little brother will become much smaller than he already is" Ruvan mocked with a smile.

"You damn bastard… You always acted brave because you had that crazy bastard Jonah watching your ass but now that he's not here you will be completely mine" Wiltord said with a vein protruding from his forehead. Talking about the size of his member was touching his heartstrings and today Ruvan had not only done it, but he had done it in front of everyone he knew, including his own men.

"Wow Wiltord~ Is that why you treat girls so badly?" Asked the woman who until recently had flirted with Ruvan. Her mocking smile only further upset a Wiltord who was on the verge of madness.

"Hahahaha" "Hahahaha"

"Hahahaha come on friend. This why do you always kill girls?" Mockery began to circulate in the air while some of his soldiers who knew the truth tried to contain their laughter.

"Damn bastard just wait and see…"

"And you bastards! You can joke all you want when we have killed this bastard!!!" Wiltord scolded angrily as he charged straight into combat.

"Shit always so impatient."

"Well, after all, we come here for money." Each of the wandering cultivators had to force themselves to stop their fun while they took out their weapons and prepared for combat. Although they clearly had the advantage, their years of experience had taught them to never underestimate their opponent no matter how weak or desperate they seemed.

"Guys, defensive formation," Ruvan ordered as his soldiers quickly formed around the carriages where the mother and daughter pair including Xin were traveling.

The few members of the Commerce Pavilion staff were inside the carriages nervously watching how the battle was going to unfold. The person in charge knew that no matter how much he invoked the name of the Commerce Pavilion, he would not achieve any results, after all this was a personal dispute, and to his misfortune they had been left in the middle.

"Be careful with that brat's soldiers."

"I don't know how they do it but in formations they can fight against enemies much more powerful than them" WIltord warned as he ran directly towards Ruvan.

"Understood… Leave the woman to me" Said the old woman as she unsheathed her whip in the direction of Lira who looked at her solemnly while squeezing the handle of her hammer.

"Mommy… Do you think big brother Jakob can win?" Su Lingxi asked with a worried look as she saw Ruvan's group being attacked from all sides.

"Yes my love… Surely Captain Jakob will be able to defeat them all after all he is very strong. Remember how him defeated the bandits to save us" Su Meiyao consoled with a smile as she herself tried to believe her own words.

"If justice really exists, we will get out of this alive," Su Meiyao thought as she pushed her daughter's head against her broad chest to prevent her from seeing the bloody battle that was about to take place.

"Mmmm, this brat is surely a magnet for trouble."

"Well anyway, today's battle will allow me to have a good understanding of his fighting ability" Nina thought to herself as she watched the battle that was about to begin.

"Mmm anyway, if things get complicated I can just go in and save that brat, after all Grand Matriarch would kill me if anything happened to this boy" Nina muttered quietly as she watched the battle begin. She was standing on the branch of one of the giant trees.

"You're right... I would kill you if anything happens to that boy." As Nina leaned lazily against the trunk of the tree, a soft voice came from behind her, causing her to jump as she looked at the newly arrived person with a terrified look.

There was a key principle in cultivation and this was that if you could not sense the presence of a person in your vicinity, this could only mean that this person was infinitely more powerful than you.

However, to Nina's surprise, the figure standing calmly there was a woman who was completely covered from head to toe. Jade green eyes watched the fight with interest while the rest of her veil covered any type of expression she might be making.

"You did a good job."

"Now, you can leave." The veiled woman said without turning her head, she was clearly focused on the fight down there.

Nina was briefly disappointed but quickly composed herself and bowed respectfully as she prepared to leave.

"Here"

"This is for all your efforts" The woman said as she handed a small scroll into his hands.

"What is this, Great Matriarch?" Nina asked curiously.

"A transfer order"

"From now on you will be under the supervision of Supreme Elder Kyung in the Eastern Continent" The Matriarch said while giving him a simple glance.

"Thank you very much Grand Matriarch" Nina said as she bowed in gratitude after all she was receiving right now was a promotion. Only those within the Sects knew how difficult these opportunities were.

"You can take that girl with you that you left in charge of receiving me. She seems like someone capable enough to waste it in a place like this" The Matriarch said indifferently as she turned her gaze to the battle below.
