Umbra Frontier Online – A Casual Playthrough of the Umbra Witch

Chapter 60: Adventure Time!

The Ruins of Akahram. That's what this place is called according to the map.

It seemed to be a village of sorts. Or maybe a small town. But it seemed to have been completely wasted by either monsters or the Umbra Lords. As it is now a soulless place for monsters to roam around. And annoyingly enough, the monsters here are all golems of different shapes, which are magic resistant.

"Multi-Charge Ball!"

After using Magic Amplification, Magic Booster, Haste and High Wisdom, I used Multi-Hex on the enemies and attacked the largest golem among the group which only did like a tenth of its max HP.

This is going to be tough.

The enemies we're up against are one giant-type golem, three bird-type golems, five dog-type golems and two humanoid-type golems. And although they are clearly golems, they are called Meths in the game.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Uncommon Monster: T-Meth
Lvl: 27
An tank-type golem modeled after a Titan. However, due to lack of materials and an abundance of energy required, it is only a fifth the size of a real Titan. They have high defenses and can hit hard, but are relatively slow. They are also highly resistant against magic attacks.
Side warning: Do not attempt to sniff the Meths. You will not get high from them, I promise.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Common Monster: A-Meth
Lvl: 18
An aerial-type golem modeled after an Aerodyte. They're weak in strength but highly mobile and can be annoying by staying in the air at all times. They are also highly resistant to magic attacks.
Side warning: Do not attempt to sniff the bird or your nose might get bitten off. But you're welcome to try. Hehe!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Common Monster: D-Meth
Lvl: 21
A scout-type golem modeled after a Dawg. They have tough jaws and fast legs. They are also highly resistant to magic attacks. (How many times must I write this info down...?)
Side warning: Do not attempt to sniff it. It will show you who the Dawg is.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Common Monster: E-Meth
Lvl: 23
A sentry-type golem modeled after your mom. They have thick armour and can perform counters based on the amount of damage received. They are also highly resistant to magic attacks.
Side warning: Do not attempt to fornicate with them. Not that you can, lol... But I won't lie, they look hot with those curves. Why did Rindou have to make them look like that?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"Sanae, support me."

"Got it!"

Sanae took out a bunch of her summoning orbs and tossed them into the air.

"Come on out, all of you!"

She summoned every single one of her available summons excluding Bane, since he's already in the fray, as they all lined up in front of her, ready to take on the Meths.

I recognised Bones, Boners, Bonini and the Steelys I had helped her capture in the Underground Catacombs. But aside from them, there were only three summons I have yet to see her use.

One is an Acid Jelly, the second is a Cockbird, and the third is a Scrowler.

 "Go! Get the Meths!" Sanae commanded her band of monsters as they and the golems charged at each other in an all-out brawl.

Meanwhile, I continue to take on the T-Meth.

"Multi-Mana Blast! Multi-Aqua Shot! Multi-Rock Bullet!"

I unleashed a variety of spells at the big guy while intentionally avoiding using any Fireball, Firebomb or Explosion, since I wanted to gain some new skills through the usage of the other attack skills that I have barely used in comparison to those three.

But as my opponent was a magic resistant golem, using skills of such level did barely anything to its HP.

On the other hand, it means that I get to use the skills as many times as I want to before the thing goes down.

The T-Meth swung its right arm at me as I ducked down, avoiding the attack. Next, it swung its left arm down at me, which led to me jumping to the side to evade it, where I saw an opening to counterattack.

"Multi-Mana Blast!"

As I have the Eye of the Accursed staff equipped, I was intending on using its paralysing effect on the T-Meth. But... I haven't been lucky with getting my staff's effect to hit. That, or maybe golems can't be paralysed...

Regardless of what it really is, I'll just continue my onslaught while Sanae, Bane and the rest of her summons are taking care of the other Meths.

"Multi-Mana Blast! Multi-Mana Blast! Multi-Mana Blast!"

After a minute of continuous Mana Blasting, the T-Meth's HP finally drops by a fifth.

Geez... This guy is like a miniboss for Magicians on its own. But unlike the Jackson or Gaius, its movements are pretty monotonous. Thus, it is easy to evade. The only issue is its magic resistance which makes it tough for me to face.

In other words, it's a battle of attrition against this guy.

"Go go, let's go! Yoru! You can do it, Yoru!"

"SKRREEEEEEEEEEE!"

Before I knew it, Sanae was already done with her battle. Or to be more specific, she's gone and added the Meths she was facing into her ranks as she, Bane and the rest of her summons are all now my cheerleading squad.

"Are you not going to help!?"

"Oh? I figured you'd want to take care of it yourself." Sanae sarcastically replied.

"Why you..."

Fine! I'll do it myself!

In that case, it's time for me to speed things up a notch.

As soon as I dodged the T-Meth's next attack, I used my new skill.

"Multi-Mirror Make!"

In the next moment multiple copies of me were formed as we surrounded the T-Meth from all directions and attacked at the same time.

"""Multi-Mana Blast!"""

A good chunk of the T-Meth's Hp was shaved away as a result. Much better than when I attacked it on my own.

My opponent, after being struck by magic from all corners, proceeds to strike at one of my copies which evades the attack as I can control each one of their movements as well as my own like a hivemind, although difficult since this is my first time using the skill.

Immediately after that, all of me moved up close to the enemy, some even climbed on top of it, as we placed our staves on the T-Meth's body and fired our spells away at point blank range.

""Multi-Mana Blast!""

""Multi-Aqua Shot!""

""Multi-Charge Ball!""

""Multi-Rock Bullet!""

The T-Meth's HP is at 70%.

Again!

""Multi-Mana Blast!""

""Multi-Aqua Shot!""

""Multi-Charge Ball!""

""Multi-Rock Bullet!""

The T-Meth's HP is at 60% now.

Again!!

""Multi-Mana Blast!""

""Multi-Aqua Shot!""

""Multi-Charge Ball!""

""Multi-Rock Bullet!""

The T-Meth's HP is half now.

And again!

And again!

And again!

And again!

AND AGAAAAAIIIIINNNN!!!!

Then, at last... The T-Meth's HP is now in the red. However, not defeated yet as I turned my back to it to ask Sanae first.

"Do you want to catch it?"

"I would. But I think it'd be better if you defeat this one. I'm fine with stealing his friends."

"I see..."

In that case, time to finish it off with a bang!

The T-Meth attempted a last ditch effort and swung both of its arms down at me with all of its might. However, it was just a tad bit too slow as I, and my copies, made the final move first.

"""Multi-Explosion!!"""

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You have defeated a T-Meth.
EXP gained: 1,240
Gold obtained: 5,290
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Condition Cleared: [Use the Aqua Shot skill 100 times.]
Skill Acquired: [Aqua Lance]
An intermediate water-attribute skill. Has a small chance of penetrating the enemy's defenses. Also makes them wetter, if you get what I mean. Hehe~
===============
Condition Cleared: [Use the Charge Ball skill 100 times.]
Skill Acquired: [Thunderbolt]
An intermediate lightning-attribute skill. May inflict Paralysis on enemies when hit. Shocking!
===============
Condition Cleared: [Use the Rock Bullet skill 100 times.]
Skill Acquired: [Rock Bomb]
An intermediate earth-attribute skill. May cause small area-of-effect damage to nearby enemies.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

And with that, we're done here. I've also got some new skills as a result of using those weaker spells I have. Nice!

Although getting a new non-attribute magic skill might need a bit more usage of Mana Blast. But in any case, I'm happy with the ones that I've acquired.

So, I returned to Sanae's side who started questioning me immediately.

"Sooo... Which one of you is the real one?" She said, looking at me and the Mirror Make copies next to me.

"""I am.""" We all said simultaneously to mess with her.

"Right..." Sanae laughed at our trolling as she then requested something of us.

"Could you all like... just stand there and not move for a moment?"

"""Umm... Sure. But why?""" We asked her.

"Just want to snap a photo real quick." Sanae answered. Then she signaled Bane to come and lie his body flat on the ground in front of us.

After which, she sat on Bane with us standing behind her, entered what seemed to be the camera feature in the game and pulled out a peace sign and a smile.

"Perfect." She said, once she had checked the photo she had taken.

However, I was still curious as to what's the point of it. So, I asked.

"Why a photo all of a sudden?

"Fufufu~ I figured it would make a good meme." She answered, sinisterly grinning.

That look cannot be anything good and I do not want to know what the consequences of her actions will be. So, I decided to not ask any further and dispel the Mirror Make skill, causing my copies to vanish.

"Now then, shall we continue with our adventure?"

"Of course. Take the lead, Yoru."

Guess what the meme is? I think you might know already. :)

Thanks for reading. 🍫
