Two Manipulate

DANIELLA

I woke up early at dawn before rest. If I wanted to pay Karina back for her overconfidence, I had to wait for her to wake up.

"She will feel the wrath of the Diaz," I told myself.

Soon after, Karina woke up. I quickly ran to hide behind some trees. I didn't want her to see me.

KARINA

After the few hours of sleep I had, I decided to wake up. Camila and Karlos were still asleep, so I quietly stood up so as not to wake them up. I walked a bit to check if there was a stream for me to wash up my face.

"This side looks pretty dry," I said, entering a bit into the woods, carefree as to my surroundings.

Until I fell on something, causing me to roll down.

"Ouch," I said, standing up and dusting myself.

Looking around I saw that I found a water source. It was a huge dam.

"Finally!" I exclaimed, watching my step as I walked over to the dam, checking how deep it was.

"Got you, Karina!"

I felt someone push me, causing me to fall faceward.

"Ah," I groaned as someone's shoe stepped on me. Twisting my head, my reflex eye gave way to see Daniella, by herself.

"Look at you, all vulnerable," she spoke.

"Like the worthless family, you, Karina Hernandez, come from."

As expected. Not only was it to my advantage, but without retaliation, the entire class would hate her more than me. Then, I would be able to find out the secrets of the Academy.

"What do you want from me, Daniella?" I asked, "Kill me?"

"That would be perfect," Daniella replied. "I want to get my revenge for... little stunt at the cafeteria."

"That was a tease Daniella," I replied, "Unless you can't handle jokes seriously?"

She removed her foot and pulled me up. "I think... I think I want to kill you here, RIGHT NOW!"

She started strangling me. Any normal person would scream for help, right? Well, I am not other people. I am Karina Hernandez. Daughter of the richest family in Spain and a skilled manipulator.

As I said, it was supposed to be the time life flashed before my eyes, but as she went on however...

I gave her a smirk.

"STOP!"

CAMILA

"STOP!"

I heard someone shout. Quickly, I turned to my side to see Karina gone. I then woke up, looking for Maya and Reina. I woke them up, which, for the first time in my life, have I done.

"Maya!" I shouted, "Reina!"

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" they shouted back.

"Where is Daniella?"

"Look for her yourself," Reina said, returning to sleep. "Does it look like she is here?"

Furiously, I clicked my tongue, "Did I say you are her babysitter?"

"Sorry Camila, we really have no idea - sorry for Reina's rudeness," Maya apologized.

"That's okay, thanks," I said, running to check where the shouts came from.

"WHY ARE YOU SMILING?!"

"DIE! JUST DIE!"

"I HATE YOU!"

I followed the sounds to see Daniella strangling Karina, drowning her in water.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING DANIELLA?!" I shouted.

"TAKING HER TO WHERE SHE TRULY BELONGS!" she shouted back, "THE GRAVE!"

Karina, although unable to breathe, had a smirk on her face, as if she was prepared for this.

I was about to run back to the others when she threatened me.

"GO BACK THERE," she said, "OR I WILL FINISH YOU NEXT."

KARINA

She dragged me into the water and started drowning me.

"Daniella," I said, although struggling to breathe.

My fear came back.

"Just because you are rich, doesn't mean you can like Karlos!"

"I hate you, Karina!"

"Just die!"

"JUST DIE!" Daniella shouted as she strangled me underwater.

"Daniella," I whispered.

"OH... LOOK AT WHO IS BEGGING FOR MERCY!"

"AS YOU SHOULD BE!"

"You don't deserve Karlos!"

Wow...

Who would have thought love could make a girl kill?

ANDRES

"Hey stop!" I shouted.

The entire class, except for Karlos, saw Daniella strangling and drowning Karina.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!"

"KILLING HER!" she shouted.

Daniella then continued.

"Strangle her harder!" Pedro shouted.

The rest remained horrified, unable to react. I looked over to Camila. She was in tears and I could tell she was worried about Karina.

"Camila," I called her.

Wiping her tears, she answered, "Yeah?"

"Why didn't you call us?" I asked.

"Who knows what she could have done to me if I did?" she replied, voice shaky, "She has the power to destroy my family in one blow."

I nodded, as I walked away.

"Daniella, I SAID STOP!" I shouted again.

"OR WHAT?" she replied. "THIS SNOB DESERVES TO DIE!"

She forced Karina's head into the water. Karina was only able to place her hands on Daniella's which were on her neck.

"YOU ARE JUST A WEAK, LITTLE NOBODY."

"What does Karlos see in you?"

I was taken aback. "Karlos, and Karina... they know each other?"

CAMILA

As Andres walked to Daniella, I saw it as an opportunity to run to Karlos for help.

"KARLOS!"

It was then I saw him wake up. I didn't fight back my tears as I ran up to him.

"¿Qué pasó?" he asked, "What's wrong? Where is----"

I interrupted him.

"Se trata de Karina, por favor necesita de tu ayuda," I said, shakily, "Karina needs you now."

He quickly stood up, forgetting his knee injury, "What is happening to Karina?"

"She is..." I said, trying my best to describe the situation.

"El suspenso me está matando, Camila, what's happening to Karina?!" I shouted.

"SHE IS BEING STRANGLED BY DANIELLA!"

Karlos ran past me, while I followed after him.

KARLOS

"El suspenso me está matando, Camila, what's happening to Karina?!" I shouted.

"SHE IS BEING STRANGLED BY DANIELLA!"

Without further delay, I ran past Camila and went down to where the others were. Pushing my way through, I saw Andres, standing, not doing anything about it. I felt anger run through me. I hoped that no one would stop me---

"There he comes - Karina's knight," I heard Pedro say.

"You can't even control your girlfriend's anger issues - so much for a caring boyfriend," I said, approaching the water.

"She is not budging in," Andres said.

Walking past him, I replied, "You didn't try harder."

I ran into the water and pushed Daniella aside.

"HOW COULD YOU?" she asked, unaware of who she was speaking to.

I picked Karina, who was unconscious, in bridal style as I walked out of the water.

"Better watch your mouth, Daniella," I said, "Or else you will have the Principal and the press deal with you."

Everyone gasped as I pushed everyone aside, walking back to our sleeping spot. I placed her on my sleeping spot gently as I checked her pulse.

"That's my Princess," I said as I mentally sighed with relief that she was still alive.

I opened my bag, and luckily I had a first aid kit to help tend to Karina's neck bruises. With her body on mine, I tenderly kissed her on the forehead.

"I don't know what I would have done if something happened to you."
