Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 80

Chapter 80: Touching~

Early in the morning, Wen Yang yawned as he walked out of the dormitory building behind Ning Chu.

He hadn’t slept well last night, his head swirling with questions and confusions about Ning Chu, but luckily, he had managed to cheer her up before going to bed.

However, he dreamed about her again last night, and the memory of his roommate made him feel a wave of awkwardness.

“Shao Qing and Wang Jie aren’t back yet, huh?” Ning Chu caught up with Wen Yang, hugging her textbooks to her chest to block the gaze of passersby, grumbling, “Are they planning to ditch class on the second day?”

While the textbooks did block the now apple-sized curves, holding them in front of her only added to her intellectual, quiet girl vibe.

“They’re probably already in class.”

Wen Yang’s eyes kept darting towards Ning Chu, but he didn’t dare to make eye contact.

Although he was a man, he was somehow more attractive than the usual girls.

Is he really a man?

Look at that little hill that trembles slightly when he walks, those soft and delicate arms with no visible muscle tone, narrow shoulders, and that petite, perky behind…

The images from last night’s dream resurfaced, and Wen Yang’s gaze flickered as he dared not to continue his observations.

Arriving at the cafeteria as usual, Wen Yang simply grabbed pickled vegetables and congee for himself, and a dish of mixed noodles and dumplings for Ning Chu.

“I transferred the money to you.”

“Mm.”

Ning Chu never took advantage of Wen Yang, not even for the cost of a bottle of water; she’d transfer money immediately.

What’s the point of scamming poor people? It’s way more fun to scam Zhang Shaoqing and see his flustered face!

The cafeteria was particularly lively before class, as students crowded around each window like hungry dogs. Ning Chu propped her chin on one hand while eating and scanned the area.

Not bad, no girls nearby are eyeing Wen Yang.

Before, she had taken it upon herself to disrupt the plot, but now she just wanted to avoid triggering it.

Thinking about the little one below and the signs of transformation toward embedded parts, Ning Chu’s expression darkened.

Next time she encounters a plot, she might completely turn into a girl, or maybe the time after that… who knows, except that sneaky sky.

But being caught between genders, feeling like a freak, isn’t exactly pleasant either.

She considered that if she inadvertently triggered the plot next time, she’d just give up, even if Wen Yang wanted to end his virginity—hell, who knows if it would just turn her into a girl!

“Hey, you can have the leftovers.”

After finishing her noodles, Ning Chu pushed the remaining half of the dumplings toward Wen Yang.

Wen Yang was used to it and instinctively picked up the disposable spoon Ning Chu had just used, scooping up a dumpling along with some soup into his mouth.

Ning Chu frowned but said nothing, sighing and resting her chin on her hands, lost in her thoughts.

“Hey! Wen Yang!”

From the dorm next to them, a classmate who had invited Wen Yang to play ball a few days ago approached with a lewd look and asked, “So, what’s going on between you and Shan Shan?”

Wen Yang paused mid-bite, furrowing his brows at him, “What?”

“What’s the progress? How far have you gone?”

“Nothing, I removed her from my friend list.”

“Huh?”

Seeing the classmate’s reaction, Wen Yang’s frown deepened. After the classmate left, he turned to Ning Chu and asked, “Do you think Shan Shan might have her eyes on me already?”

“Mm, that guy was probably just Shan Shan’s wingman,” Ning Chu mumbled. “What was his name again?”

This was just the second day of classes, and since he had no habit of visiting others, he only knew his roommate and those troublesome girls in his class.

As for others, some he might know by name but not face, while others by face but not name.

After finishing their meal, they met up with Zhang Shaoqing and Wang Jie on the way to the teaching building.

“Too bad you guys didn’t go last night! I’m telling you! There was a pole dancing show!”

“I even invited two girls to drink, but Wang Jie chickened out and wouldn’t even touch them!”

“Ugh! I’ve got a bit of a headache; I’ll call my name and head back to the dorm to catch some sleep.”

On the way to class, Zhang Shaoqing excitedly recounted the steamy night before. Wen Yang felt his curiosity piqued, wanting to try but feeling anxious.

Then Ning Chu kicked him in the shins.

“Not interested,” Wen Yang immediately suppressed his curiosity, adopting a righteous persona. “Bars are noisy; what if someone drugs you? No way to complain about it!”

“I’m not a girl, so what’s there to be afraid of?” Zhang Shaoqing laughed, throwing his arm around Wang Jie. “Why were you such a wuss last night?”

Wang Jie, looking earnest, replied, “I already like someone; I don’t touch other girls.”

“Who is it?”

“A high school classmate; she’s studying at another university.”

“Wow~ a true romantic!” Zhang Shaoqing exclaimed, then insisted, “She doesn’t know anyway.”

But Wang Jie stubbornly shook his head.

This was the first time Ning Chu heard that Wang Jie already had someone he liked.

So, the bug in the plot has been fixed… it seems when the girl in the plot lives in the boys’ dorm, surrounded by boys, Wang Jie wasn’t being oblivious or foolish, just genuinely uninterested because he had someone he liked.

If only Wen Yang were like Wang Jie!

Now that’s the real integrity~ utterly unmoved by the girls, not touching them at all. A guy like that is almost tear-jerking in the world of Small Royal Text.

And Wen Yang, well, he just acts honest on the surface but is actually quite lively on the inside; give him an opportunity, and he would transform into a harem scumbag.

Lucky for him, he’s still a virgin, very timid.

The morning class was English.

Zhang Shaoqing called out his name and snuck away, while Wang Jie, not fully sobered up, was still forcing himself to pay attention in class.

Facing English, Ning Chu chose to slack off. He had long returned the textbook to the teacher; besides a few common words, he couldn’t remember anything and had a vocabulary smaller than during middle school.

He leaned against his desk, his chubby face squished, side-eyeing Wen Yang, who was attentively engaged in class.

Although there were no specifications for Wen Yang’s studies in the Small Royal Text, he was quite serious in class, sitting upright with a focused expression, occasionally jotting down notes and marking important parts in his book.

Even during breaks, he would sit there studying English rather than playing on his phone.

Seeing the diligent protagonist he had created, while he himself was slacking off…

Ning Chu felt a pang of guilt and closed his eyes, deciding not to look.

English was pure torture! He wouldn’t learn it again!

“How about we hit the library at noon? I want to borrow some books to pass the time,” Wen Yang suddenly suggested.

Ning Chu paused; she recalled a part of the plot where he flirted with a girl in the library, but that shouldn’t be a big deal.

“Sure.”
