Trapped in Paradise

Chapter 49

Chapter 49: Good Roommate!

“Finally got him back…”

Back in the dormitory, Ning Chu’s heart was completely at ease.

It’s not like a vixen would come to the dorm to seduce Wen Yang, right?

“Wang Jie, can you help me return the small cart to that Sichuan restaurant we ate at earlier?”

“Sure.”

Ning Chu sat back in his chair, hands resting against the back, staring blankly at Wen Yang lying on the floor.

A bamboo mat was laid out on the ground, and he even covered Wen Yang with a thin blanket to keep him warm.

“By the way, here are your ice cream and drinks.” He placed the drinks for his roommates on the table, “You can grab them yourself later.”

“Okay.” Zhang Shaoqing yawned, “What a mess! And just happened to run into you!”

Ning Chu pursed his lips and muttered, “This guy always attracts trouble. What can I do?”

And this was just the beginning…

He rested his chin on his arm, feeling a headache coming on.

If he were only worried about his own safety, he should just cut Wen Yang out completely.

“I’m going to play a game now.”

Your roommate is drugged and unconscious, and you’re just going to play games?

Ning Chu sighed deeply, staring at Wen Yang’s face. He had to admit that his protagonist’s looks were indeed high, handsome yet manly, with a well-balanced and powerful physique, and the emphasis was on being well-endowed…

Adding the halo of a male lead, Wen Yang’s pursuers were endless, which was driving him crazy.

The girls in the plot were at least somewhat cautious, but he was worried about random nameless bystanders suddenly swooping in.

“What am I supposed to do about this?”

Soon, Ning Chu couldn’t care less about Wen Yang’s happy sex life anymore.

A growing sensation of soreness and heaviness was brewing in his chest, making him unconsciously frown.

Clearly, his chest muscles were becoming more pronounced.

Right now, he could only see a slight bulge from the side, but later…

He reluctantly pulled out one hand, sneaked a glance at Zhang Shaoqing, who was turned away, and lightly pressed down on his chest.

What was once merely a thin layer of soft flesh now seemed to have thickened considerably.

Ning Chu’s mouth twitched; he suddenly regretted his decision.

If he let the plot develop naturally and allowed Wen Yang to become that dreamy protagonist, maybe he wouldn’t have turned into a body with feminine traits within two weeks and ended up looking like a gender-ambiguous weirdo.

At least the time for becoming feminine could have been stretched a bit, right?

Not only that, because he repeatedly intervened in the intense battles between Wen Yang and the female supporting characters, he had unknowingly offended quite a few girls.

He had no cash left, and even eating was becoming a problem.

Life ahead was definitely going to be tough.

It was all Wen Yang’s fault!

Seeing Wen Yang still lying motionless on the bamboo mat, Ning Chu planned to take a shower to systematically check what changes had occurred in his body, but just as he got up and opened his wardrobe, the phone on the table began to vibrate.

He glanced at the incoming call on his phone, which displayed just one word: “Mom.”

“……”

Ning Chu frowned in rejection, and after half a minute, he pursed his lips, picked up the phone, and walked to the balcony.

Leaning against the balcony railing, he answered the call but did not speak.

He really didn’t know how to address the other person.

“Hello? Little Ning?”

“……”

“It’s almost the festival. When are you coming home?”

The voice on the other end was lively and gentle, reminiscent of a youthful girl, yet full of love for her child.

Ning Chu felt a little overwhelmed and his nose tinged with sadness.

He suddenly realized how much the voice on the other end resembled that of his late mother.

“I… probably won’t be going back…”

“Not coming back?”

“Yeah.”

Without asking for reasons, the voice let out a cheerful laugh: “Then mommy will go on a trip by herself~”

Even the personality was quite similar.

“You’ll run out of money by the end of the month, right? Mommy sent you two thousand. That should be enough, right?”

“That’s plenty, it’s too much.”

“Make sure to eat more meat, buy some fruit every day, look at how short you are.”

“……”

Just like typical parents, she nagged him about everything from meals to clothes, to whether he had a girlfriend, and checking on his grades.

Ning Chu remained silent, occasionally responding with a murmur.

He recalled his mother from back then, realizing he remembered some things vividly, yet when he focused hard, he couldn’t even picture her face clearly.

He couldn’t remember what they talked about either. By the time the call ended, half an hour had passed.

He stood dazed, leaning against the balcony railing, unconsciously looking up at the sky, where a few stars flickered in the endless darkness.

He suddenly realized that the transmigration might not all be bad for him after all.

“Ning Chu?”

A low, raspy male voice called from behind him. Ning Chu instinctively turned around to see Wen Yang clutching his head and leaning against the doorframe: “How did I end up in the dorm?”

“Why are your eyes so red?”

Ning Chu quickly collected himself, avoiding Wen Yang’s gaze: “No way! I walked past a food stall on my way to the supermarket. I saw you were drunk and just brought you back.”

“What? Ning Chu’s eyes are red?” Zhang Shaoqing’s desk was right next to the balcony door, and he leaned over, astonishingly shouting, “No way! You weren’t hiding outside crying because Wen Yang passed out, were you?”

“Passed out?” Wen Yang looked stunned.

Ning Chu’s face darkened; that little bit of emotion was completely brushed away by his anger: “Stop spreading rumors! I didn’t cry!”

“Where are you running to? Stop right there! I won’t let you off!”

Zhang Shaoqing dashed out of the dormitory, and Ning Chu angrily stood at the door, then turned back to Wen Yang and explained, “That vixen drugged your drink. I just happened to run into it.”

“Drugged?” Wen Yang shivered, “That sounds terrifying?”

In the plot, you seemed pretty happy about it, lingering on someone’s bed!

But when something like that happens in reality, it was indeed quite scary. Besides, right now Wen Yang was feeling the fear of being drugged but hadn’t experienced the comfort of the dreamy haven yet.

“I told you not to drink!” Ning Chu crossed his arms, lowering his voice and trying to scare him, “The world is dangerous these days… what if she took you away and you end up getting sold into a black mine for back-breaking work? With your build, you could probably replace two people!”

“Or maybe they’d take your kidney? Send it somewhere to become a sugar baby for a rich woman? Who knows…”

Wen Yang’s face paled at the scare, feeling lingering pain in his lower back.

“Be careful from now on!” Ning Chu observed his expression and, seeing that his words had an effect, suddenly felt a lot better, “All the outside women are bad!”

Wen Yang nodded with a serious expression, looking at Ning Chu with even more warmth than usual, sighing bitterly, “From now on, I won’t touch a drop of alcohol outside.”

“Exactly! Not even a drop! Not even a cigarette!”

He didn’t even know how to thank Ning Chu, who was worried about him and secretly crying on the balcony.

With such a good roommate, if he weren’t a guy, marrying him would totally be worth it!
