Chapter 233 – What Zhang Xiying said doubtlessly hit her where it hurt the most! (2)

The different movie companies would sometimes work together for their mutual benefits, and sometimes, they were competitors to each other.

Other than Shengshi being the top player in the field, there were also other strong ones such as Xinri and Yuan Yao.

Lin Yiyi had only worked with Yao Sen twice. First time was Director Sen’s movie which had given her the idea of starting her own film company. And the next time was the web series where they had to drop Zhang Xiying.

One thing that was worth mentioning was it had raised ruckus on the web when Zhang Xiying was swapped out of her role. That time, her replacement was Yao Sen’s daughter Yao Yimeng. The second time Lin Yiyi worked with Yuan Yan, Zhang Xiying was swapped out once again!

This time, she was swapped out of her role as the female lead. And, her replacement was, once again, Yao Yimeng!

What could she say? Such is life?

At this moment in time, Zhang Xiying was trying on a custom-made Alice Olivia gown that was ordered from the US for her appearance at a charity ball in a studio. She overheard a phone conversation taking place outside of the dressing room.

“… Yeah, the charity ball will be hosted by my dad. Aye, you are not coming? I have to be there, of course. My dad made sure of that. He had spoken so highly of that Boss Lu… I don’t know! I have seen his pictures online. He’s not bad looking, just a little on the old side… Hey, I gotta go. I am trying on gowns right now!”

The female voice has a youthful edge to it. As soon as she hung up on the phone, she confirmed the gowns that she had pre-ordered with the workers there. “Bring all three sets that I ordered three months ago.”

The voice was very familiar!

Standing in front of Zhang Xiying was Yao Yimeng as soon as she opened the door.

Both women were very young. Zhang Xiying debuted a few years earlier than Yao Yimeng, so she already had over 30 million followers. She was for sure one of the top two among her peers, so all in all, she was considered pretty famous.

Yao Yimeng was slightly younger than her and even more gorgeous looking. Not to mention she had Yao Yuan Media behind her.

They both had their own advantages and both were powerful in their own ways!

Spotting the hostility between the two, the workers backed off immediately. And that was so very wise of them!

“Oh, I was just wondering who that was. You startled me.” Yao Yimeng was the first to break the silence.

Even though it seemed as though she had tried twice to take the roles from Zhang Xiying, but that had nothing to do with her. First time the role was promised to her from the very beginning. Technically, it was Zhang Xiying who tried to take it away from her.

Second time, it was Zhang Xiying who wasn’t careful enough with her own behavior and got too close to Yu Yi. That had almost turned into a scandal and she ended up having to quit the role. With or without Yao Yimeng, some other actress would have taken the role anyway!

All in all, it was Zhang Xiying’s fault.

In fact, Yao Yimeng was the victim to have taken the fall for both incidents!

Zhang Xiying didn’t look too happy. “The order of arrival always matters, right?”

She turned around to face the full-length mirror and said as she looked down to adjust her dress, “Just having background isn’t enough in the entertainment circle. Do you really think that someone who shows no respect to her seniors will become famous?”

That was a lot of subtext in that!

Since Yao Yimeng’s debut a year ago, Yuan Yao’s resources had been leaning toward her. She was able to make her way into two major productions as second and third female leads with one of them being the award-winning work of Lu Sen. And still, she did not become famous.

She was also in two other web series as the female leads. In the end, everybody other than her had become famous!

Up until now, she barely had 15 million fans under her Weibo page. 10 million of them were purchased!

This year, she was banking on her work, My Classmate, with Yu Yi for a positive outcome.

What Zhang Xiying said doubtlessly hit her where it hurt the most!
