The Otherworldly Adventures of a Super Naive Girl

Chapter 90: Jasmine's Resentment

After clearing her muddled head she put two and two together. She had been in the living room when the illusion spell hit her, making her believe she was burning to death. After that she somehow ended up here.

She saw a large group of girls surrounding her once she opened her eyes properly. She wanted to ask them what was going on, but was stopped by the chill against her skin. She looked down and immediately screamed in horror.

“Ah! What is this?! What is this?!” She frantically wrapped her arms around her chest. She could easily see her nipples through her bra. Her clothes were so soaked they were mostly transparent.

How could this be?! How did she end up like this?! It had to Jier and Feng Wu! Those two calculating demons must have maliciously acted against her!

Jasmine’s heart filled with hatred. (I’ll kill them! I’ll kill them!)

“Don’t be afraid. Here, put this cloak on.” A warm voice came from above Jasmine. She felt a cloak gently draped over her as she looked up to find a girl standing with a worried expression on her face. Her savior was a beautiful purple-haired girl.

Who else could it be other than Zi Cheng?

“Thank you.” The gratitude Jasmine felt was amplified because it was the first warmth she received after so much trauma. The kind gesture left an indelible imprint in her heart.

“There’s no need to thank me. We’re both magicians. Shouldn’t we help each other?” The smile on Zi Cheng’s face made her look like an angel.

Zi Cheng had been passing by when the crowd of girls caught her eye. She was curious so walked over to take a look. What she found was an unconscious girl on the ground with clothes that barely offered any coverage.

It didn’t take long before the girl woke up. It was obvious to Zi Cheng from the panic and fear on the girl’s face that she was the victim of someone’s schemes. No normal person would do this to themselves, so Zi Cheng walked into the circle to help.

Annika forced her way through the crowd calling Jasmine’s name. Upon seeing Jasmine wearing a cloak she asked if the other girl was OK.

“I’m fine. Let’s go back to the dorm.” She didn’t want to stay and be mocked by the crowd. She held the cloak tightly against her body as she pulled herself up. Then, with Zi Cheng’s help, she walked back.

The empty dorm made the conflict from earlier feel like a dream.

Jasmine immediately went upstairs to change while Annika went to get water for everyone. She didn’t feel like making tea after everything that had happened.

“Annika, what happened? Why was Jasmine like that?” Zi Cheng took the cup of water before asking.

“I don’t know where to start.” Annika was reluctant to speak. The events earlier had disturbed her. The normally cheerful girl could only frown.

“I also want to know. What did Jier do to me? How did I end up outside?” Jasmine had changed into her school uniform and was standing at the top of the stairs. She was no longer confused. Her eyes shone with hate and resentment.

Annika sighed. She hadn’t wanted to say anything in front of Zi Cheng because the girl was an outsider, but since Jasmine insisted, she had no choice but to narrate the tale.

After Jasmine made her way down, Annika started. “Jasmine, a tiny cherry blossom entered your forehead. Afterwards your face contorted like you were in pain. I kept calling out to you but you didn’t respond.

First you started screaming, then you started chanting water spells and covering yourself with it. Then you rushed out of the dorm like a mad woman. I chased after you but you were too far ahead and I lost sight of you. You were humiliated in front of the girls, but at least you didn’t rush into the boys’ dorm. They would have surely taken advantage of you.”

“Jier! I’m never forgiving you for this! I’ll definitely kill you!” Jasmine surmised as much, but to hear it voiced maddened her. She was so incensed she smashed her cup into the floor, shattering the delicate porcelain.

“Jasmine! Don’t be like this! You’ll only hurt yourself!” Annika grabbed Jasmine and carefully led her to the sofa so she wouldn’t hurt herself accidentally.

“Feng Wu and Jier, where are they? Xi. Where is she?” Jasmine seemed to have calmed down.

“Jier took Feng Wu away after you ran out. Xi left to find you. I don’t know where she went after we found you.”

Annika knew how prideful Jasmine was, that she looked down on commoners like Feng Wu, so her anxiety showed through when she spoke. She was sure Jier knew; that was why he humiliated Jasmine they way he did. She understood he was trying to help Feng Wu and that it was Jasmine who started it, but still, he shouldn’t have used such a method.

Jasmine would have been ruined if she ran into the boys’ dorm. Even if she achieved great things as a water magician, the incident would remain as a permanent stain on her reputation.

Jier’s action earlier was the height of callousness! And Feng Wu as well, she was also callous. She could have said something to stop Jier from hurting Jasmine, but she didn’t.

In her mental diatribe Annika completely forgot Jasmine was the one who started it all.

“Good! Good! One’s a slut the other’s a friend of the slut. They deserve each other!” Jasmine’s eyes filled with hatred and the maliciousness in her voice was truly astonishing. It was obvious she wanted to kill Feng Wu and Jier. Xi was on her list as well.

“I don’t understand. Why is there so much animosity between Jasmine and Jier?” Zi Cheng understood the gist of it, but she felt there were still missing pieces to the puzzle.

She recognized Jier’s name. He was the powerful fire magician who became the freshman year representative after defeating the strongest of the second year representatives. She wasn’t sure just how strong he was. Though they were in the same class, they didn’t have much interaction because he generally stuck to his own group. She thought he was arrogant and prideful based on what she saw of him.
