The Lecherous Prince and His Playmate [BL]

Chapter 80

Youxia glanced over at her father, who was holding Yerim in his arms, rubbing her back while she sobbed. He wore a frown as he sighed.

She lowered her gaze back to the characters she was reading.

Consort Kwon walked in and looked at her daughter over her husband’s shoulder. “I don’t understand. She’s healthy, but getting ill at the same time.”

Changling placed Yerim on his lap. Looking at his daughter, she had gotten paler over the week, lethargic, and was just not herself.

He kissed her on the cheek, then said, “Call the physician over.”

“He already came. He gave me some tonics to make for her,” she said.

Changling stood up frustrated and walked around holding his child. As he was trying to figure out what was wrong with her, he stumped his foot against a book that was on the floor. His frown deepened. Looking at Youxia, he asked, “Can’t you tidy up? Why are the books on the floor?”

She glanced at him, then looked at the book on the floor, saying, “That’s the book Yerim had before she fell.”

He stared at his eldest daughter—she had been visiting them often and was often here to keep her sister company, especially since Tian Cao left.

Sighing, he asked, “Well, can you please pick it up?”

Standing up, she walked over to him and picked the book up. Looking at it, she then looked at Yerim, who was staring at her with tears in her eyes, and said, “I’ll come back tomorrow. Are you going to feel better?”

Yerim nodded her head, making Changling chuckle. He looked at Youxia, asking, “Where are you going?”

“To grandfather’s library, then home to daddy,” she answered as she packed the books on the desk.

“The baby will be out soon. Are you coming to visit him soon?” She asked.

Youxia had already made her way out the door, not waiting for an answer.

Sitting in her grandfather’s library, she had the book of justice in front of her.

“Why are you suddenly interested in the justice system?” Wu Yong asked.

“I’m not,” she mumbled. “I just want to know what the punishment for committing murder and treason is.”

Wu Yong nodded his head with a frown. Brushing the thoughts over her head, he asked, “Aren’t you curious about your brother?”

She shook her head as she thought about him. “Not really. He sends me letters.”

Wu Yong shook his head. He knew about Tian Cao’s feelings for her and why he left. “Are you sending letters back to him?”

She nodded slowly, “Yes.”

“How are your medicine studies, Physician Lee says you’re very interested in medicine?”

She looked at him with a smile. “Yes, I’m enjoying it. It’s rather interesting.”

He nodded his head. “I don’t think there are any medical scholars in our family. But you will be facing a problem in the future.”

She frowned. “What do you mean?”

“Women aren’t trusted or respected,” he said.

She chuckled with a shake of her head. “I don’t care what other people think, grandfather.”

“I know you don’t. That’s why I’m sure that if you were to marry into any family, you’d turn that household upside down.”

She laughed, then suddenly became serious and stared at him, saying, “I thought about it.”

“About what?”

“About marrying my brother.”

“Ah, you feel guilty,” he said.

She shook her head. “I don’t know how he can love me? I’m not a likeable person.”

“Now that’s not true and you know it,” he said.

Standing up, she asked, “What would happen if I kill someone of the Royal family?”

He frowned. “It depends. Why would you kill them?”

“Because they’re trying to kill me,” she answered with a tilt of her head.

He sat up straight, slapping a hand on the table he asked, “Who dares!”

She chuckled, shaking her head as she said, “No, grandfather.” Holding the book up in her hand, she said, “Remember I’m reading this.”

Wu Yong calmed down. Thinking it over, he said, “You’ll be removed from the family registry or put in prison until trial. Depending on the emperor, the punishment will vary, but you will definitely be removed from the registry.”

She nodded her head and placed the book down. Closing it she said, “I’ll be back later tonight. Want me to read you a story?”

He nodded his head, “Of course, I can barely sleep as of recent without your stories.”

“It’s my voice, your majesty,” she said as she hugged him, then left.

Looking at the eunuch, Wu Yong said, “If someone is trying to kill Youxia, it will be bad. Find out what she is talking about.”

Looking at her father as she handed him a cup of tea that she brewed herself, she asked, “How are you doing?”
Youxian rubbed his stomach as he took a sip. Frowning, he said, “Your sibling is making me uncomfortable.”

She took the cup back from him when he was done and said, “Daddy, Yerim is sick.”

“She is?” He questioned.

Nodding her head as she lifted his feet onto her lap and started rubbing it.

“Well, that’s not good. She needs to see the physician. Speaking of which, how is your studies? Are you sure about studying medicine?”

She nodded. “Seeing Yerim sick right now makes me want to learn more. I wish I could make her feel better and relieve you from your pain.”

“Oh child,” he chuckled, “It’s a pain I enjoy.”

“You do?”

“Mn, I never thought I’d fall pregnant again and look, after so many years I can finally have my wish, although I do wish that my child comes out healthy.”

“Daddy, why doesn’t my father visit anymore? I thought he loved you. He was excited about the news of the baby too, but he just—stopped caring about you. How can my father be so cruel when he tried everything to get you to return to the palace?”

Youxian sighed as he looked at her. Pulling his feet back, he helped her stand up and pulled her over into a hug. Running his fingers through her hair, he said, “Your father is a very strange person. Not even I understand him after all these years.”

She sat up staring at him and thought back to that night she overheard the two wives speaking. “Does it have anything to do with killing my other father?”

Youxian’s heart jumped to his throat. He stared at her in shock and asked, “Wh—what are you talking about?”

She sighed and stood up. Facing her back to him, she asked, “So it’s true?”

Youxian began to panic. Shaking his head, “No—no, my love, it’s not.”

Youxian felt a sharp pain in his abdomen. His eyes widened as water leaked from between his legs.

He looked at Youxia, who was now facing him, and gulped. The look she was staring at him with reminded her so much of Changling and it seemed that she wasn’t surprised that his water broke.

“Call, call the physician,” he spoke through the pain.

“No—I’m still talking to you. Did you kill him?” She asked as she stepped away from Youxian, who tried to reach for her.

Youxian looked at his child. “Go call someone Xing Guang now.”

“Why won’t you answer me?” She asked him.

Youxian looked at the floor, not understanding what was happening. But it’s not like he couldn’t deal with her. Forcing his body up through the pain, he stood before her, raised his hand and slapped her across the face so hard that she fell to the ground. The slap made her nose bleed.

Cupping her face, she looked up at her father in disbelief.

“Yes, I killed him. I had to kill him. I had to do so much for that stupid father of yours, but none of my efforts are appreciated. I never wanted to be here, but I am now and I do not need you asking me questions on a subject that does not involve you. I don’t know what you did to make my water break so soon but I swear to you if this child does not make it, I’m burying you with it now, go fucking call someone before I make you regret the life you have.”
