The Hero’s Supplier

Chapter 41: Flame Fiend

Rick looked at the golden ring that Zinmar had given him.

“Low-Ranked artifact,” Rick intoned. Artifacts surely had different ranks, but there was little he knew of them.

But what he did know was that originally artifacts did not have these rankings to them. The ranking of the artifacts was made by God after the Heaven’s Dictate. As such even the Lemegeton did not know anything about it.

The lowest rank of artifact that he had seen till now was the Low Ranked artifacts like the Communication Rune Stone. then there were Common Ranked artifacts and finally the Paragon ranked artifacts. But there was little he knew about the other ranks in between.

"Good work," Rick said to the Kings.

With the storage ring in hand, he walked back into his Private Study.

"Well that was eventful," he said to himself.

From meeting Luca, to freeing Dale and getting the beast cores, a lot happened in the span of just one morning.

“Well I have nothing to complain.”

He had four hundred and ninety-nine gold coins, a bag full of golem cores and a storage ring as a reward for the day’s work. Besides, he even recruited Dale to his side!

Rick put the thoughts aside and started looking for Pip. A couple of steps in, he stopped mid-stride.

"Are you going to become unconscious every time you eat something?" he said looking at the unconscious Pip lying on the ground. There was no sign of the Flame Titan Gaap had prepared for her anywhere around.

Shaking her head he picked Pip up and silently walked into the shack.

He placed the Lemegeton on the desk and flipped it open.

The pages of the Lemegeton flipped on its own,

Storage Ring

A type of spatial storage device.

Created by folding space to allow storage and transportation of large objects within it.

Improvement in the quality of the storage ring results in greater availability of space within.

Creation of storage rings requires a greater understanding of the Space element...

"The golem cores can wait", he decided. He had to check out the storage ring first.

Rick flipped on page after page.

It was only an hour later that he finished reading everything the grimoire had on storage rings.

He picked up the ring from the desk and looked at it with wonder in his eyes.

“So many secrets in this small ring,” he said. “It should have a one-metre area inside of it.”

He quickly put the ring on his finger and circulated the mana in his body towards the finger.

When his mana came in contact with the Ring, it was like the zip of a bag opened up and Rick took a look inside.

The space inside was no larger than the size of a single bed. But right as his consciousness came into contact with the storing ring, the wave of burning heat swept over his consciousness,

Inside the storage ring was a flaming creature the size of a dog lying motionless.

“That’s the fire fiend?” Rick wondered. It was hard to believe that the Kings had so much time to deal with a creature smaller than even him.

Rick withdrew his consciousness from the storage ring.

“Lemegeton, show me whatever you have on the Fire Fiend,” he instructed.

The pages of the Lemegeton opened to the Beast Encyclopedia

Fire Fiend

A High Tier Spirit beast which inhabits the fiery depths of Hel

Its entire body is made up of flames with…

“I was underestimating it,” Rick realized recalling the description in the Lemegeton.

The fire fiend when alive was the size of an entire volcano. But after the Kings killed it, its flames were slowing dying out.

“So the food that the Kings were talking about for Pip is the Flame Fiend’s core” Rick realized.

Rick walked out of the shack and finding an empty place in the garden took out the Flame Fiend and placed it in there.

“I am sorry Pip, but I cannot just let you eat it. I have to try make a golem core,” he decided. But he had to wait for the flames off the Flame Fiend to die out first.

He walked back into the shack.

“Let’s check out what else the Storage Ring can do first,” he thought..

He picked up the bag with the beast-cores and connected his consciousness with the the ring. The bag immediately disappeared from his view and re-appeared in the storage ring.

“Fucking amazing,” Rick mumbled.

He put all his money, the carving knife and his backpack into the storage ring, a wide smile on his face.

If only the ring was of a higher grade, I could put Pip in it and leave this place without any hesitation,’ he thought. According to the Lemegeton higher tiers of storage rings could even house entire buildings and worlds in them.

But this was not even the greatest information she found about the Storage Ring.

There were five elements, Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Space.

Since becoming a Fire Mage, he had come across and learnt a lot about the Water, Fire and Air elements. But the Space element was still an enigma to him.

The Storage Ring contained in it spatial laws required for becoming a Spatial Mage.

“Maybe you hold the secrets to understanding space,” Rick thought.

Just as he was experimenting with the storage ring and trying to understand the spatial laws, a notification rang.

“What’s this now?” Rick was annoyed at being disturbed. “Why does God need to patch things? Isn’t he already supposed to know of the flaws in things!
