Minotaur

Monster Level - III

Soul Type - Composite

Intelligence - Low Human

Strength - Very Strong

Magic - Weak

Rarity - Uncommon

Standing almost eleven feet tall, Minotaurs have the body of a man and the head of a bull. They usually only wear loincloths, but they carry a variety of weapons, favoring two handed weapons that emphasize strength. Their skin resists blows more than people would expect, which combined with their power and reach makes them dangerous enemies. Most delvers prefer to handle them at range.

Minotaurs frequently know techniques though they rarely practice magic. More importantly all minotaurs can track someone whose blood they've smelled. This seems to be the basis of the rumor that minotaurs can naturally navigate labyrinths. Minotaurs also frequently have the ability to go into death rages or perform powerful stomps and gore attacks.

Minotaurs are capable of forming hordes, though fortunately their champions usually only have better gear and techniques. Still a fully armored minotaur is nothing to laugh at. Putting down an active minotaur horde requires a strong team of delvers and a good defense point.

Running is a very viable strategy against minotaurs. While they can pursue you if they've smelled spilt blood, they are lead along the direct route to their target (you). Falling back to an ambush point or just better ground always works if you're fast enough.

Merge

Common Name : None

Benefits : Strength. Toughness. Blood Hunt.

Weaknesses : Extreme size. Hunger.

Minotaur merges are fairly rare. While the strength that this merge offers is incredible, most people don't consider it worth the cost. Minotaurs gain a great deal of height and muscle mass, usually ending up eight or nine feet tall and five to six hundred pounds. Men almost always get horns as well, with women getting them half the time. That extra mass requires extra food, meaning they don't just suffer from small doors and flimsy chairs, but at the market as well. Being a minotaur merge is very expensive.

It's not all bad. Minotaur merges are surprisingly tough even for their enhanced size, and they retain the ability to hunt down people or monsters whose blood they've seen. However it's not much better than a good scent tracking in the hands of a merge.

Minotaur merges tend towards hunters and fighters. Whether their targets are animals, monsters, or other humans depends on the individual. But their skills don't really push them towards anything else, and their need for huge amounts of food mean they can't usually get by with a simple day laborer's salary.

Women who merge with a minotaur do not automatically start lactating, and asking them about it is a good way to get several bones broken. Please stop bothering my friend about this.
