Magic - High

Rarity - Vary Rare*

Basic slimes barely count as monsters. While not completely harmless, more people have probably died from slipping on a slime than by a slime attack. Their attack is a caustic agent that requires several seconds of contact, and their movement is a poorly controlled bounce or slow inching along with their 'foot'. They have very low aggression and can be herded by poking them with a sharp stick.

The slime's defenses however are pretty admirable. They can sweat a variety of coatings that partially defend against all known attack types. They can survive in areas of moderate magical concentration like wizard towers forever. And they can regenerate from massive damage, so long as a single untouched cell exists. This makes slimes great for target practice.

Basic slimes are very rare outside of mage towers ironically because their defense mechanisms don't usually stop bigger monsters from eating them. Wild slimes either evolve into a stronger variant or die quickly.

Do not eat slimes. Yes, monsters do it. Yes, it's survivable. Yes, the other kids did double dog dare you to eat one. But do you really want 'choked to death while slime tried to escape your stomach' to be your cause of death?

Merge

Common Name : None

Benefits : Defensive slime. Fast Healing.

Weaknesses : Being slimy

Slime merges are uncommon due to how hard it is to kill a slime. It almost requires being a mage, since stabbing or cutting a slime just causes it to fall apart and flee.

Slime merges get accelerated healing, with small cuts and punctures closing almost instantly. In addition they sweat defensive slime, giving them resistances to any damage threatening them. The slime can also be used as a sealant or glue.

The downside is they're constantly sweating slime. This is hard on clothing, and anything they touch. Slime merges frequently have trouble socializing.

Different slimes require different washing methods. Most can be handled simply by boiling water, but if the merge was trying to waterproof something or it was raining you might need stronger effort. Baking soda is usually better than lemon juice in those cases.
