Shadow parasite

Chapter 77: Free-falling from the skies

“It’s been seven days straight… We were worried that something might have happened to you…” just by looking at them, Gorn could tell that the decision to come inside was not taken lightly.

“That much?” for a moment, he was very shocked. ‘I got too excited, and completely lost track of time,’ thought Gorn, feeling a little ashamed. Noticing the bags under their eyes, it was clear that they didn’t have much sleep during this time. ‘They guarded me for seven days straight without even sleeping…’ he felt sorry for them, however, this kind of job was not without their consent. Of course, he had to be reasonable as well.

“You did good, thank you!” said Gorn with sincerity. “For the next few days, you are free. If you want, you can also use the cabin.”

Mara’s face lightened up instantly. She was afraid that Gorn might scold them for disturbing him. The same could be told about Nora as well.

“Thank you!” Seeing that nothing was wrong with Gorn, they breathed in relief. The twins looked at each-other, then ran outside with great anticipation. They were very eager to explore the island, and have a good time. Staying in the same place while doing almost nothing was like some kind of torture. Especially when there were so many other, interesting things to do.

Gorn smiled. Seeing them happy made him happy as well. In the next instant, he disappeared. In the span of a few seconds, he was far away from his cabin. After seven days of lying on the bed, he needed some time to take care of his body. While he wasn’t a normal human anymore, certain things could not be avoided forever.

The recuperation lasted for a few tens of minutes, and ended with a bath into the lake. Taking a black camise, and a pair of jeans, Gorn returned. He looked quite dashing.

Beside his cabin, there was another similar building, and some sort of simple improvised shelter. Elisa followed his example, and built herself a cabin. It was smaller, and more crude, but decent nonetheless. That was hers, and her daughter's place.

Amelia didn’t want to disturb them, so she made a shelter as well. What she built was very simple, and could barely be called a shelter. Her forte was without a doubt not building houses, or constructing. The same applied to Emma, and Lora.

“What have you been doing until now?” asked Ella, swiftly arriving next to him. She seemed rather upset.

“I have been training, of course.”

Ella was unconvinced: “In the house? Alone?”

“Yes.” Gorn’s answers were simple, and short. Ella rolled her eyes, clearly dissatisfied. “Want to go have some fun?” hearing these words, the dissatisfaction vanished on the spot.

“I do!” answered Ella excitedly.

Gorn grabbed Ella by the hand, then they disappeared. A few moments later, loud laughter could be heard from the sky. Both of them were doing different acrobatics while free-falling.

Elisa smiled gently: ‘Maybe I should try this as well…’

After having plenty of fun, Gorn landed next to his cabin together with Ella. “That was awesome!” yelled Ella, then sneaked a kiss on Gorn’s cheek. “Thank you!” in the next moment, she ran away.

Gorn was pleasantly surprised by her gesture. The corner of his mouth turned into a wide smile. Looking at the rest of the girls, he asked: “How is the training going?”

Having a chat with Rebeca, and the company, made him realize that nothing out of the ordinary happened. They trained as per his instructions, and Amelia with her daughters also brought food for everyone. Elisa also helped with gathering resources. This was a form of relaxation for her.
