Chapter 36: Relaxing/Skydiving

It was still too scary, so she quickly turned around with her face towards Gorn again, and hugged him, while at the same time closing her eyes. He waited patiently for her, and did not rush things.

After some time, she managed to conquer part of her fear and hold her ground on top of the tree without trembling. At this moment, she looked directly at his eyes. Gorn did the same. In the next instant, both of them smiled widely. That lasted only for a few seconds before Nora’s face turned red, and she looked towards another direction.

Her eyes and hair were black like the night. The same thing could be told about her arched eyebrows. On the right side of her face, she had a small mole that was only slightly visible. That mole was something that her twin sister did not have, and one of the few things that could help someone differentiate them.

“I think it’s time we go back,” said Gorn with some unwillingness.

“I know…” she also seemed reluctant to do that.

Gorn suddenly got an idea: “But before that, what do you say we step up a level, and do some skydiving?” he wanted to take advantage of the courage she gained from that little victory, and use it to maximize the effects.

“Skydiving?” It wasn’t hard to imagine what that meant. “Let’s do it!” said Nora while gulping. While she was afraid, Gorn’s abilities were already proven to be very reliable. She also trusted him, after all, he didn’t do anything to betray her trust so far.

Gorn was pleasantly surprised, got closer, then took her into his embrace. A few seconds later, they were already a few kilometers up into the air. Like before, Nora quickly wrapped her arms and legs around his body, to make sure she wouldn’t fall.

He stood there for a few moments. “Don’t be afraid, I already did this numerous times. Everything is under full control.”

Nora looked towards the ground. It wasn’t easy, but she was adamant in going all the way. “Do it!” She said with resolve.

Gorn released his air steps skill and both of them started to free fall. It was a wondrous experience, no matter how many times he did it. Nora was frightened, but surprisingly, managed not to scream too loud.

This process was intense, but didn’t last long. In the next instant, Nora’s vision switched a few times and voilà, they were back at the starting point, in a stationary position.

“How was it?” asked Gorn.

Nora was breathing heavily, while at the same time her heart was beating frantically. “Scary! It was very scary.”

Gorn smiled: “After a few more times, you will grow to enjoy it. Want to do it again?”

“Two more times, then after I catch my breath we can return,” said Nora while swallowing her saliva.

“Sounds like a plan.”

And so, the free diving continued for a couple more times. After that, he waited a few minutes for Nora to calm down, then headed back to the others.
