“Well, what can he do at this point? Look at all these people’s stories! The proof! He would be lucky if he didn’t get investigated by the police.”

“But that dude is crazy… I doubt he would care about the law at this point. He’s lost his mind.”

“Yeah, that’s true… I… I wonder if Myunghee is going to be ok.”

“Well, they are still family so I’m sure she will be fine.”

“What about us? What should we do?”

“Hmm… shouldn’t we talk to President Kim about this first?”

Suddenly, Hyunsuk announced, “Oh… President Kim. As of tomorrow, he won’t be our boss.”

The three other guys’ eyes widened as they stared at Hyunsuk, which made him blush.

“Oh. Well, that is…”

It was rare to see Hyunsuk speechless. He continued, “The thing is… it’s not a done deal yet, but… umm…”

Hyojun sat closer to Hyunsuk and asked, “What is it? What happened?”

Just then, all of their phones rang. They all got the same text from President Kim, asking them for a meeting.

Hyunsuk seemed relieved and said, “I think it would be best if we hear it directly from President Kim.”

The three of them quickly left the house.

By the time Hyoyoung returned home from school, the house was empty. She already knew the guys were gone because she got a text from Hyojun, but still, she felt lonely when no one greeted her.

‘Maybe I should’ve gone out shopping or something with Mikyung…’

But Hyoyoung quickly shook her head.

‘No, that would’ve been a bad idea. Everyone at school seemed so awkward around me… Mikyung too.’

She survived her first day back at school. It went by faster than expected and at the time, she felt okay. But now that she was home, her legs trembled a little bit.

It was much better than she expected. She felt so alone when she arrived at school in the morning, but now… she felt like she had the whole world on her side.

At school, after Myunghee’s article was released, her classmates cried and sincerely apologized to her. Mikyung read the article over and over again and added what she knew to the story so her classmates understood what really happened.

The girls nodded emphatically, and they all started leaving comments online to help Hyoyoung. Meanwhile, the teacher turned to Hyoyoung and suggested, “Hyoyoung… do you think it would be better for you to leave school early? Maybe use the back door so you can escape from the reporters?”

Mikyung raised her hand and offered quickly, “I will go with her!”

The teacher nodded and gestured for them to hurry. The other students looked at her with deep sympathy and thanks to everyone, Hyoyoung was able to leave school safely. Her friends later texted her that when the reporters found out Hyoyoung was no longer at school, they all left as well.

When they left the school grounds, Mikyung said to Hyoyoung, “You go ahead and get home. I need to go and work my magic online.”

“Online?”

“Yeah, I’m going to post some information on The M fan club website.”

“Oh… okay. I’ll talk to you later.”

“Yeah, and hey…”

“Yes?”

“Go home safely and eat something yummy… and… thanks.”

“You too. Thank you.”

Walking home, Hyoyoung felt much better. She felt lighter and calmer. When she reached home, she started cleaning the house. Hyoyoung turned the music on loud, opened the windows, and worked hard to get the house in shape.

She was vacuuming when she heard the front door open. Hyoyoung yelled, “Is that you, oppa?”

“Nope. It’s Mom.”

“Huh? Mom!”

Hyoyoung’s mom ran to her and hugged her tightly.

“My baby!”

“Oh, Mom! What’s wrong? I told you I’m fine! It’s going to be okay!”

“I read the newest article. Is everything in it true?”

“Yeah, as far as I know, it’s true.”

“So Hyojun had to go through all that as a trainee?”

“Well, something like it, I’m sure. But knowing his temper, I don’t think he went through it long…”

“Gosh! I can’t believe these horrible things happened to my babies! I only have two children, yet you two are going to be the death of me.”

Hyoyoung smiled happily and hugged her mom, “Yay. Two children… Mom has two children.”

Hyoyoung’s mom suddenly stopped. Her eyes welled up as she replied, “Of course I have two children! Did you think I have three or something?”

“Hahaha!”

“This won’t do anymore. Where is Hyojun?”

“Oh, he went to meet with his CEO.”

“Did he say when he will be back?”

“Nope. I assume he will be back by dinner.”

“When he’s back, tell him to pack his bag.”

“Huh? Why?”

“I talked to your dad and we agreed that we should go on a family vacation.”

“Huh? What about school?”

“You already missed a few school days anyway. I called your school and they told me you still have a few more days you can miss. Let’s just go away for a while. If you feel uncomfortable at school, you don’t have to go.”

“Wow… Mom… you…”

“What?”

“You are so cool!”

“Yes, that’s true. Your mom is very cool. So go pack your bags now. I’m going to pack my bag and your dad’s bags at the hotel and we will be back by dinner.”

“Alright, Mom.”

They were in a vacation home in Gangwon Province. The house was located in the middle of a mountain and the only sound that could be heard was Hyojun and Hyoyoung’s screams.

The area was fully surrounded by thick trees, providing complete privacy.

The family of four left in the early evening that day. It had been over 10 years since they went on a family vacation, so they all felt very excited.

The beginning of the trip was quiet as everyone was deep in thought about what happened so far. Their mom, especially, seemed to get emotional as she kept wiping her eyes while staring outside the window. She remembered what Hyoyoung told her before they left.

Hyoyoung held her mom’s hands tight and told her that she was thankful to her and dad for adopting her. Hyoyoung told her she was very happy and felt very lucky to be their daughter.

Hyoyoung also told her about Kiwook.

She talked about what kind of person Kiwook was. She also told her what Hyojun did to try to stop Kiwook and Hyoyoung from becoming a couple.

And despite it all, Hyoyoung confessed she still liked Kiwook very much.

Kiwook was her first boyfriend. Hyoyoung told her mom everything honestly.

At first, her mom seemed shocked to hear everything, but as Hyoyoung explained, eventually she nodded. Hyoyoung’s mom hugged her and thanked her for telling her about Kiwook. She understood how Hyoyoung felt.

Her mom said to her, “I am so happy that you are growing up, Hyoyoung. I really hope that you always feel like you can tell your mother anything… I want to be your friend.”

Wiping away her tears, Hyoyoung’s mom added, ” You are all grown up now… I am happy, but I also feel sad. You will soon leave me to go study… and then get married… I will be so sad.”

Hyoyoung smiled and replied, “Maybe I will always live with you, mommy.”

“Hahaha… even after you get married?”

“Hehehe… no comment! Now, I need to go pack my bag.”

“Nice save, Hyoyoung.”

“Oh, Mom, there is nothing to worry about. I won’t get married for a long, long time yet. Anyway, someday soon, I will properly introduce Kiwook Oppa to you. Maybe you can cook him dinner?”

“Wow, already acting like a wife… Hyojun is going to be so upset he is losing his younger sister.”

“Oppa… will be fine, haha.”
