As Weiai struggled and cursed along the way as she was brought to a room and was locked inside.

This should be a place that was usually not in use. It was so dark that one could barely see anything, junk was strewn all over the floor and the room was full of dust. Also, a dry and pungent smell lingered in the air.

She inched her way back slowly until her back touched the cold wall.

Weiai was only dressed in the thin fabric. Thus, she felt cold and lonely in such a setting.

“Let me go, Shen Shaobai, you rascal…”

Weiai continued to curse as if this could pacify herself.

At the same time, Shen Shaobai, who was outside the dark room, overheard the curses from inside of the room. He frowned, accentuating his good-looking brows. “So energetic?”

As he finished his words, he thought of something and smiled playfully. “Little sister, what pets are there on the island?”

Although Xia Weiai was young, she had a stubborn character. He did not mind teaching her a lesson!

As for what he promised Tang Yue when those daughters of prestigious families visited the island, he would allow them to “return fully loaded”. When the time came, he would ensure that his mother would be extremely “contented”.

Upon hearing the young master’s questions, Shi Mei was stunned for a moment. She then replied respectfully, “Young Master, what do you want to play with? I will order the servants to look for it.”

The man snapped his long, slender fingers. Shi Mei leaned in and placed her ears at his shoulders’ level.

Upon hearing the young master’s orders, Shi Mei let out a look of hesitation. “Young Master, are you sure this is a good idea?”

After all, Xia Weiai was only eighteen years old and she was kept in captivity on the island.

However, the young master had an indifferent look on his face. He did not seem like he’d change his mind, so she could only obey his orders. “I understand, Young Master. I will order the servants to bring it over.”

A soft grumble came from Weiai’s stomach; her stomach was empty as she had not eaten anything for a long time.

As this thought came to mind, she felt the need to conserve some energy. Hence, she stopped her scolding.

Weiai crossed her arms and squatted down slowly, leaning on the wall. Slowly, sleepiness came over her, and she could not resist the urge to shut her eyes.

“Sssss…”

“Ji…”

Not long later, she heard some unfamiliar noises.

Weiai opened her misty eyes, thinking that she must be hallucinating. Wasn’t she alone in the room?

She moved her body slowly only to feel a cold rush over herself. She also felt a slight pain in her body. When she stood up, she realized that her feet were numb and she was experiencing pins and needles.

Weiai suppressed her discomfort and bent over to massage her legs to relieve them.

“Ji…”

“Sssss…”

At the same time, she heard the same sounds again.

She could vaguely see something moving on the ground, and it appeared that something was also jumping up and down in front of her?!

No matter how muddle-headed Weiai was, she knew clearly that that was definitely not a hallucination!

Even though she was horrified, Weiai mustered up her courage and leaned forward to take a closer look. The floor was a huge mess, so she stretched out her hand to quickly move the junk aside.

“Squeak…”

At the next moment, a round object presented itself in front of Weiai.

“Ah! Rat… there is a rat…”

Weiai could not careless and stumbled backward.

However, very quickly, she felt something crawling around her ankles—it felt cold and gruesome and was accompanied by a smooth sensation; it was alive.

Her body turning stiff, Weiai turned her head around slowly. When she finally got a clear look, her mind turned blank!
