Moonlight Blue

Chapter 30: Preparations

It’s been a few days since then and all of Allen’s preparations are complete. As he begins his journey into the unknown, word of the events that have transpired in the Silent Demon’s Forest has spread throughout the continent. Of course, people didn’t know anything about the Demon Lord. The only thing they knew was that the Silent Demon was dead.

Not only that but word of the forest being freed from the demonic energy has also spread. Now, the major kingdoms are preparing to seize the forest and its infinite riches.

In the Great Empire.

In the throne room.

The minister is with the king, Andrew Heinrich. Andrew is sitting on his throne. His throne is made of precious metals and crystals. He is wearing his golden armour that covers his mountain of a body. The armour has spikes petruding in the shoulders. The gauntlets are in the shape of claws, as if the race that once wore it wasn’t human.

In his head rests his crown that dazzles brilliantly. It has precious jewels and gems embedded on it. Behind the throne hangs the flag of the Great Empire. The flag has a symbol of a dragon. The dragon is peculiar though. It has two heads and ten tails unfamiliar to how dragons look.

“So, sire. What is your decision on the matter?”

“Have my son, Edgar, take care of the matter. It’s time for him to prove that he is a king.”

“Pardon me sire but to have the first prince handle such a matter is-“ Minister Linct is cut off by king Andrews cold glare.

“Prince? I think you’re mistaken minister. My son is a king. Don’t forget that because if you do again, you won’t be pardoned.”

Cold sweat rolls down the forehead of the minister.

“Y-yes your majesty.”

Just his stare is enough to make me quiver. Yes, this is how it should feel like to be in the presence of a king. Not that failure of a prince- I mean king.

“Have James assist him. Just in case something unexpected happens.”

“Yes, sire. Your wish is my command.”

To think he would send a Saint too to help king Edgar. Is he grooming him to be a true king or does he have something else in mind? Trying to figure out his majesty is impossible. No matter how hard I try to read him, I can’t.

“I also bring a letter sire.” Says Linct while holding a scroll with both his hands.

“A letter? From where?”

“An envoy from the Holyland sent it. I believe it has something to do with Nonid, the border kingdom.”

A servant takes the letter from minister Linct and hands it to Andrew. He opens the letter and glosses over it.

“Hmm, it seems the demons have waged war and now the Holyland wants every kingdom to send some soldiers to assist the border kingdom.”

The border kingdom, Nonid. It is a small kingdom where the border of the demon realm and the human realm meet. It doesn’t have much of a military force like the Great empire, the Esteria kingdom or the Slavia kingdom but since it serves as a border between the two realms, it is highly valued by the Holyland.

“Tsk, the Holyland seems to be getting bolder everyday.”

“They follow the will of the Goddess Athena. We cannot deny them.”

But, it too will eventually bow under the might of the Great Empire. Thinks Andrew.

“You are excused minister.”

“Bless the ruler of the Great Empire.”

Minister Linct exits the room.

“The world shall experience a great change. When that happens, know that your downfall is near. That’s what ‘she’ said. Could this be just a coincidence or have the wheels of fate already started turning?” murmurs king Andrew to himself.

The Great Empire isn’t the only kingdom to hear of this news. Even the Slavia kingdom, the kingdom where Lockwood village is located has begun to make its move for the Silent Demon’s Forest.

In the city of Sinders.

The city of Sinders is located in the Slavia kingdom and not only that, it is also the city that is the closest to Lockwood village. There, in the shadows, Amarellia is lurking.

It’s been a while now since she has arrived in the human realm and all this time, she has charmed a lot of people and sent them to infiltrate Lockwood village to see if any clues could be found about the mysterious person who was responsible for the Demon Lord’s demise.

However, none of her puppets have returned. Frustration has gotten the better of her and she has decided to make a life changing decision. And that is to go there herself.
