I Became the Rich Second-Generation Villain

Chapter 173: God of War’s Blackening

“Before you ask me a question, I have a question for you first.” Yang Jingwan showed no fear even in the face of the ferocious Su Lang, as she boldly asked:

“Our arranged marriage one year ago. My family’s misfortune. And that divination!”

“Was it just a coincidence, or was it something you caused behind the scenes?!”

“…So you know everything? It seems that the fortune teller has a loose tongue. No wonder that b*****d left without saying goodbye; it turned out to be because of this,” Seeing the matter unfold, Su Lang no longer hid anything. Did it matter at this point?

“Yes. I was responsible for your family’s bad luck, including the divination performed by the fortune teller. I was the one who secretly instigated everything, all to get you to marry me.”

“You! If I hadn’t found out, my life would have been ruined by you! You… you! Why would you do such a thing?!” Yang Jingwan felt the anger inside her boil over. Hate and betrayal mingled together.

“Why? Why– it’s because… ha… do you not remember? Many years ago, you gave a bowl of rice to a little beggar. That little beggar back then was me. I still remember the favour of your one meal. I, who had nothing back then, swore that I would repay you however I could.”

“Afterwards, I became successful and famous, so I came back. I promised to give you a lifetime of happiness, and I am willing to spend my entire life repaying this debt to you.”

Nostalgia glinted in Su Lang’s eyes, as he seems to have momentarily calmed.

When the surrounding guests heard him, they felt drawn to the pair’s love story, which painted an enrapturing picture of determination and gratitude.

Everyone there felt the same… except the one involved.

“You– Are you insane?! You repaid my kindness by inflicting pain upon my family!” Yang Jingwan trembled, dizzy with anger, and couldn't help but swear.

“How could I ever harm you? I married you because I wanted to protect you for the rest of my life.”

“Hah! Please. I. Don’t. Even. Like. You! Why would I want to marry you? How is your behavior any different from a common thug?!”

“Woman, do you even know who I am? Marrying me is a blessing you have earned from eight lifetimes. This is your greatest honour!” Su Lang’s ego broke through. He had always put himself above others, and he never really saw anything wrong in the manner by which he arranged this marriage.

In fact, Yang Jingwan should be grateful to him.

After all, she got all this for just a single meal!

The surrounding guests, having witnessed these twists and turns, felt their worldview collapse.

What the hell?

What they originally believed to be a love story gone wrong was a tragedy from the start! There’s a limit to how much wishful thinking one could get away with!

Though some of these guests knew Su Lang was the God of War, to do something like this to an unwilling participant…

How was this any different from harassing and assaulting a poor commoner?

Could Su Lang just be lost in the heat of the moment?

Or could it be that his true colors were finally showing themselves?

At that exact moment, a recorded conversation suddenly sounded on the wedding broadcast.

[“I need 2 billion in cash,”]

[“Is this some kind of protection fee?”]

[“You can think of it that way, but this is definitely worth it.”]

[“But 2 billion in cash all at once requires some time.”]

[“I'll give you five days. Also, I need a sum of money urgently, right now.”]

[“This is my subsidiary card with a credit limit of 200 million, the PIN is six 6s.”]

[“Woman, you're obedient. I'm quite satisfied with you.”]

The voices of the people attending the wedding were engaged in a conversation.

Judging from the timbre of the man's voice, it was clearly Su Lang’s.

Everyone present felt stunned.

If this recording is true, then wasn't Su Lang a blackmailer?

And 2 billion in one go at that!

What a massive appetite.

With this in mind, everyone continued to listen, their hearts cold.

After listening to one recording, another recording played soon after.

[“The wedding went over the budget. 2 billion isn’t enough; get me 2 billion more.”]

Everyone was shocked. It wasn’t just blackmail for 2 billion, but a total of 4 billion!

Everyone suddenly looked at Su Lang with strange gazes.

Su Lang's face was also ashen. The words in the recording were indeed his. But, logically speaking, these exchanges could not have been recorded by outsiders.

He turned his head and immediately looked at Cheng Rui.

“I think everyone knows who the man talking in this recording is. However, you must also want to know who the woman being blackmailed in it is, right?” Cheng Rui didn’t even wait for a response:

“Yes, it's me!”

The entire venue instantly erupted.

“This useless Su Lang! Turns out the money he had was gained through extortion. To think this old lady actually thought he was some big shot. Bah!” Li Manli spat disdainfully.

In the field, everyone was talking and pointing fingers at Su Lang.

[Ding! The Host’s manipulated behind the scenes, causing great damage to Protagonist Su Lang’s image.

  • Receiving 800 Villain Points!
  • Su Lang's Protagonist Halo -40!
  • Host's Villain Halo +40!]

Su Lang glared at Cheng Rui angrily upon hearing these discussions.

“Insidious woman, you dare to betray me when you yourself agreed to hand me the money?!”

“Agreed…? You threatened me. As for betrayal, that’s an even more ridiculous claim. You blackmailed me; I am the victim. To say that I betrayed you, have you no shame?” Cheng Rui immediately retorted.

“You…” Su Lang fell speechless. Fighting with words against Cheng Rui was a futile effort.

However, in his mind, he put her on his blacklist.

Of course, he had no time to pay attention to Cheng Rui right now, so he could only wait and settle the score with her afterwards.

“Madman. You lunatic!” Yang Jingwan gnashed her teeth.

“Is that why you betrayed me… but aren’t you too cruel to just do it with any wild man?” Su Lang's expression contorted into a pained grimace.

“It’s not a fling; I love him!” Yang Jingwan shot back.

“Love…” Su Lang staggered.

[Ding! The Host’s manipulated behind the scenes, damaging Protagonist Su Lang’s mental state.

  • Receiving 500 Villain Points!
  • Fang Heng's Protagonist Halo -25!
  • Host's Villain Halo +25!]

“Who? Who is he? I'm going to kill him, cut him to pieces with a thousand knives, and slaughter even his family’s chickens and dogs!” Su Lang suddenly burst out with a monstrous aura, stunning everyone in the venue.

The guests surrounding him clearly felt a strong sense of oppression.

Yang Jingwan’s face filled with fear, and she felt fear in her heart, but she wanted to stand firm and protect her beloved from harm.

“I… I will never tell you who he is!”

“Aha. Ahahaha! What a loving b***h you are! Okay, if that's the case, then… then I will kill you first, and find who that person is later!” Su Lang's bloodshot eyes exuded murderous intent.

[Ding! The Protagonist Su Lang has blackened.

  • Protagonist Halo Broken – Su Lang is no longer a protagonist.]

After receiving the system prompt message, Wang Haoran was stunned.

He had already beaten and killed several protagonists by now, but this was the first time he’d met a Protagonist that actually lost his identity due to blackening!

But in hindsight, this seemed normal enough.

The son-in-law archetypal hero, Su Lang, actually wanted to kill the heroine?

If this didn’t break the story, then what would?

He would naturally lose his identity as the Protagonist the moment he acted on these urges.

As these thoughts flashed through his mind, Su Lang attempted to reach out and strangle Yang Jingwan to death, having completely lost his mind.

Yet Wang Haoran still harboured no intention of taking action.

As the villain, he could never reveal his strength so casually under the audience’s watchful gaze.

Besides, he knew Su Lang didn’t have the ability to strangle Yang Jingwan to death, at least…

Not right now.

Wang Haoran had already harvested Yang Jingwan, so he naturally regarded her as his woman.

Obviously, he wasn’t going to just let her bear the brunt of Su Lang’s anger like this.

Just as Su Lang stretched out his arm, his entire body felt as though it were struck by lightning.

In an instant, cold sweat dripped from his forehead, as the God of War lost his balance and fell, half-kneeling on the ground without any strength.

‘What's going on? Why can't I use my Qi all of a sudden?!’ Su Lang exclaimed internally, feeling cold from the top of his head to the soles of his feet.

He quickly went through the present day in his head, and soon found the issue, his face paling.

‘Wine, there was something wrong with the wine!’

Realization dawned on Su Lang’s head.

But it was already too late.

Those small fries who snuck into the wedding were originally afraid of the God of War’s might, not daring to act rashly. But at this moment, they were all smiles.

Upon noticing the abnormality, they immediately rushed towards Su Lang.

Dozens of masked individuals streamed from the walls and corners!

The guests, seeing the ensuing havoc, panicked and screamed for their lives.

And so the venue erupts into chaos…
