I, as my video game character in our world.

Chapter 13: A dream of the past

=== POV Siana (pseudo-third-person-view) ===

I was in the middle of a dark forest. Either it was winter or the trees were dead. Everything felt so... surreal, and I couldn't describe it in the right words.

"You don't need to be afraid!"

I suddenly heard a woman's voice. It was coming from the direction behind me, so I turned around. I could see a woman running through the forest with a child in her arms. The child was a little girl, maybe three years old. The woman looked at most in her late twenties. Her platinum blonde hair shimmered in the faint moonlight, and even her eyes faintly glowed gold in the dark.

“Hey, sorry! Can you tell me where I am?"

I started calling for her, but the woman didn't stop and ran off. I decided to follow her because I had no choice but to leave this desolate place.

I was wrong!?

The area became more and more desolate because the forest ended, and the ground was dry. Nothing could be seen far and wide, except for a single rock. When I followed the woman to the rock, I noticed a cave opened up under the rock.

"Tyrania... I didn't expect... to see you again."

A deep male voice came from the entrance of the cave. I focused on the entry until I discovered a human silhouette at the opening of the cave.

"Jormun... I'm glad that I found you."

The woman's voice was visibly relieved. She wanted to approach him first but then stopped.

“Jormun, please. You have to take care of our child."

She let her gaze wander to the child, and I could see a scared and worried face.

"Tyrania... is that what you want?"

His voice suddenly seemed very irritated.

"Yes, please! I don't have another choice!"

She pleaded with him.

Before I could hear his answer, everything disappeared before my eyes. It was a moment before I suddenly appeared in a completely different place. This time I was not far from a small wooden hut in the middle of a forest. The trees blossomed and cast long shadows over the tiny cabin.

* Bam *

The door slammed, and a girl barely eight stormed out. On her face was a bright smile. Her hair was fiery red, and two small horns grew on her forehead, and on her back were a pair of scaly dark purple wings.

At sight, I became speechless. This girl was undoubtedly the young Siana... Siana, a character I had once created for a video game. But this Siana was one that I didn't know.

She began to jump back and forth between the nearby trees.

“Siana! Don't go too far!"

I turned to the front door of the cabin. A man with dark red hair and jet black eyes stood in the doorway. Two horns also grew on his forehead, but one of his horns was partially broken. On the back was a pair of pitch-black wings that looked more like bat wings.

His face was expressionless, but his eyes revealed to me that he was only concerned about her safety in a strangely familiar way.

This man has to be Jormun... Siana's father... and because she is a half-dragon, he has to be a real dragon.

I was lost in my thoughts that I didn't even realize how Jormun's gaze landed on me.

"What are you doing here, Siana!?"

He said her, no, my name and looked me in the eye. I turned to find young Siana. When I realized that she was playing on a homemade swing further back, I turned around to him in shock.

He's talking to me...

"Father?"

I answered, very nervously. He nodded, and his eyes started to water.

"How tall you have become!"

"But how? How can it be that I'm over there and you can see me here and now? Isn't this a memory?"

He shook his head.

"This is not a memory... you inherited your mother's ability."

"My mother? Tyrania? What kind of ability?"

“The ability has no name, but Tyrania always called it Time Dream. Your dreams let you travel through time. You can travel through time with your mind, and only someone with great magical power can recognize your presence, let alone see it."

He gave me his hand, but when I wanted to put mine in his, it just slipped through.

"Why did mother leave me with you?"

"...It is true to protect you..."

To protect? But...

"...Of whom?"

He shook his head.

“You should be careful... because... different from you. They are... because you are partly... sin. But you... in force... therefore fear...! "

His answer became distorted and unclear when suddenly, my entire body began to shake.

“Siana, get up!? The sun is already on the horizon!"

Somebody shook and shook me. I was ripped out of my sleep and stared into Avila's face.

"A-Avila, what are you doing?"

I instinctively grabbed my smartphone and checked the time... It was 5:53...

“It is far too early! I want to go back to sleep!"

I turned away and tried to go back to sleep, but she didn't stop.

"What are you talking about! When the sun rises on the horizon, you get up!"

I sat down and showed her the screen on my smartphone.

"Not correct! In this world, the day begins when the time is up! And the time says 5:55! Usually, most people get up around 7:00 am to 9:00 am."

I put my smartphone aside and turned back around. I tried to get back into the dream. I wanted to know who my father was warning me about. But it was in vain. No matter what I tried, I couldn't go back to this place.

“Wah! Siana, what should I do!"

Avila rudely woke me with my smartphone in her hand. My smartphone's alarm rang.

"Ha?"

I took the smartphone and touched the stop. I got up and shuffled across the room to the living area. Fen was already in the kitchen area, eagerly waiting for his breakfast. I filled his bowl with new water and dry food. Then I turned to make breakfast for myself and Avila.

It was a simple breakfast with nothing special. As I was preparing food for school, Avila came to me.

"Uhm... what should I do now?"

I gave her a short glance and turned back to continue to prepare the food.

"I don't know. I have to go right away, so please watch out for Fen and you."

I packed my things and made my way to school.
