I am Kurt Von Ritzburg

Chapter 8. Subjective to Objective

"Down Strike!"

Holding the hilt of the wooden sword with both of my hands, I brought it down with all my strength, making the sharp noise of air bellowed inside the hall.

Whoosh!

If one looked at it with a bit more focus, they could see the arc of wind that came after the strike.

"It's the same."

But my focus was on something different.

"It seems I am in my limits."

It's been a year since I got reincarnated and became Kurt. And I have roughly broken one of the death flags - Cecily Von Claude.

But still, it doesn't guarantee that I won't be dead. Because as a noble and the heir of the house, it is compulsory for me to enroll in either Magic Academy or in Knights Academy.

"And knowing the future, it's kind of my fate to fight in the frontlines."

Magic Academy and Knight Academy students are reserved soldiers for the kingdom. And knowing about the war in the future… I doubt I would be able to stay out of it.

And it is more doubtful since I have two fiancées, Maria and Cecily, the two famous Ultimate Magicians.

'If I don't accompany them, then wouldn't it stain their reputation to have me as a fiance? And then…. Argh! I don't want to imagine that!'

And to make sure that I am with them, I have to stand out and become a member of the Ultimate Magicians.

And for that I have to attend the magic academy as a S class student.

And for my future wishful life of having death out of the door and wives inside the room, I have started training from the time I got reincarnated.

But it didn't take long for my body to reach its limits.

"If I stress more, I would damage it."

Even though I am an adult from a mental sense, I am still a six-year old kid. Even a normal person like me knows that over exerting isn't a good way for me.

"It's good that I used to watch videos of trainers and doctors."

But what should I do at this point? I thought for a lot and found a perfect solution.

"Actual Combat."

Just normal training won't do any good. I need to have experience of actual combat. Even the protagonist hunted demons in his childhood.

And the best way to gain actual combat is…

"To become a Demon Hunter. There is no better way than becoming a hunter."

And I also have another goal in my mind associated with it.

"It is better to become a demon hunter. And it will also make me a step ahead of him."

The protagonist started hunting at the age of seven, but I am here at six. It's always better to be a step ahead.

That's what makes it an intelligent villain.

"No. I can't allow it."

"What!"

From the confrontation, you would have guessed that I am standing in front of my esteemed father.

"And what was that talk about granting me freedom?"

"That was… Anyway, I can't allow you to become a demon hunter."

"Why?"

"Because I said so."

'Damn! I can't even logically argue with him after that!'

It was not that I couldn't understand his concern. I might be a genius for the rest, for him I am still his child. He is worried about me.

'But I have to become a demon hunter.'

It's crucial for me to have experience in combat, because it would take quite a lot of time for me, who has the mind of a modern man living in peace, to get accustomed to fights.

'I have never fought anyone in my life before. And here, I have to learn to kill!'

It would be normal for this world's inhabitants, but it's not that simple for me. I need to learn and adapt to it.

'And I also have an important objective related to the future this time.'

I have enough reasons to become a demon hunter but how should I persuade this strict father?

"At least, tell me the reason for your refusal."

"It’s because you are still a kid. I can't allow you to take such risks."

“Risks… If I show you that I am capable of taking risks, will you let me become a demon hunter?”

I smiled inside my mind after looking at his hardened face. He must be thinking of a reason to deny it but you can’t take back your words, right? Count Russell also understood my move after looking at the smirk on my face.

“Well then. I will allow it if you manage to convince me.”

‘I will not agree at all.’

That’s what I heard behind his words. If I manage to convince him, then he will allow it. It means it depends upon his mood. And mood is subjective, right?

‘That sly old man.’

But I am not an idiot as well. I know very well how to turn the mood from subjective to objective.

[Water Arrow Consecutive - 3 Shots]

With a snap, three small magic circles formed behind me and from it water arrows bolted out in the span of seconds and pierced all the three dummies, making a small see through hole through it.

“This… No chant!”

‘Ah… I forgot that chantless magic is supposed to be hard.’

Most magicians chant to use magic. It helps them to imagine and make a proper image of the magic, helping to make sure that spell doesn’t fail. But for me, it’s unnecessary. As long as I can imagine, I can use it.

‘I didn’t mean to hide it, but it seemed to have surprised him. It seems my wish of becoming a demon hunter is about to come true.’

But still to make sure, I didn’t stop and used one more spell.

A blue magic circle formed on the tip of my pointed index finger, and from it came out a bigger water construct added with spin and pressure.

[Water Bullet]

And just like its name, it fired off with a bang like a bullet and…

Boom!

And with its sheer power all the dummies were blown to smithereens!

“What is this?”

I looked at my father’s flabbergasted look and asked with a smile.

“How about it? Are you convinced?”

I told you, right? I know very well how to turn the mood from subjective to objective. And that’s how I convinced him to let me become a demon hunter.
