I Am Fugaku Uchiha

Chapter 162: Orochimaru-awkward Escape

Mastering this particular ninjutsu posed a formidable challenge, demanding a wealth of skill and relentless practice.

As the agile ninja executed the complex technique, awe and admiration filled the onlookers.

However, amidst the impressed spectators, Fugaku remained unimpressed, considering it nothing extraordinary.

The stormy spectacle, conjured by the collaborative efforts of a thousand skilled ninja, cast an imposing shadow. Yet, despite its immense scale, the technique's effectiveness was hampered by a crucial limitation.

Fugaku discerned that the rain clouds, while vast, were bound by the necessity for him to serve as a guiding force, restricting the attack range.

This starkly contrasted with the ninjutsu's full potential. Furthermore, its power fell short of remarkable, standing as merely mediocre in comparison.

However, in the grand scheme of things, one advantage emerged. The technique required only a modest amount of chakra for guidance, unlike another deadly move that exacted a toll on the user's life.

As the rain-soaked battlefield unfolded, Fugaku weighed the strategic implications of this seemingly limited but tactically valuable ninjutsu.

Situated on the Kikyo Pass, the Konoha camp rested along the border of the Land of Fire, a mere few hours' journey from the hidden village.

This estimation factored in the incredible speed of the ninja, underscoring the strategic significance of the camp's location in close proximity to Konoha.

The intricate dance of tactics and distance played out, shaping the battlefield dynamics for the impending clash.

On that very next day, within a secluded mountain in the Land of the Rivers, the earth seemed to tremble as the mountain itself shifted, revealing a concealed chamber behind its stone walls.

Emerging from the depths of the cave was a figure—pale-skinned, adorned in a green vest, and possessing long hair that flowed like a cascade. It was Orochimaru.

Excitement gleamed in Orochimaru's eyes as he announced, "I have discovered something new by combining two different cells! The cells of the First Hokage will soon yield remarkable results."

His wicked smile painted a sinister anticipation as he made his way toward the Land of the Rivers camp.

As the evening shadows embraced the camp, Orochimaru arrived, only to be met with an unexpected sight.

"What? Sand Shinobi?" His shock was palpable. Questions swirled in his mind.

Why were Sand Shinobi here? What had transpired in the span of his mere ten days of experimentation to bring about this change?

The Sand Shinobi, too, was taken aback at the sight of Orochimaru. Wasn't he a Konoha ninja? Resembling one of the legendary Sannin, Orochimaru, hadn't he retreated with the camp?

Puzzlement painted the faces of both parties as they locked eyes, attempting to make sense of the unexpected encounter.

In the ensuing moments, Orochimaru's reactions proved swifter than Sand Shinobi's.

With a calculated move, Orochimaru summoned a snake under his sleeves, swiftly capturing the bewildered Sand Shinobi. Throwing him to the ground, Orochimaru crouched over him, a menacing kunai poised at his throat.

"Kekekeke, you are a Sand Shinobi, aren't you? Tell me, what are you doing here?" Orochimaru's wicked smile sent shivers down the spine of the terrified Sand Shinobi, who felt an impending sense of dread.

He couldn't fathom why Orochimaru was interrogating him, unaware that his camp had already retreated.

As the Sand Shinobi stammered to answer, his gaze suddenly shifted. Three kunai hurtled through the air towards Orochimaru, prompting a swift change in the Sannin's plans.

Abandoning the notion of slitting the Sand Shinobi's throat, Orochimaru adeptly dodged the oncoming projectiles, fixing a glare upon the trio of Sand Shinobi.

"You… You are… Orochimaru?" one of the Sand Shinobi cautiously inquired, recognizing the formidable foe standing before them.

The legends of the Sannin, forged during the Second Shinobi World War, were etched in the memories of every village, making it easy for the Sand Shinobi to identify Orochimaru.

Orochimaru raised an eyebrow. "So you guys managed to break through Shikaku’s defense, but you were not fast enough!" He retorted, a hint of arrogance in his tone.

Realization dawned on the Sand Shinobi as they understood the gravity of their situation.

"Ha, so you were left behind by your camp? How lucky for us! We can capture you and make you pay!" One of them sneered, signaling for backup with a peculiar signal.

Frustrated by the delay, Orochimaru scoffed, "What? Are you calling for backup? I don't have time to waste with you!"

With those words, he swiftly dashed towards the Land of Fire, leaving a cloud of dust in his wake.

The Sand Shinobi, however, were not willing to let Orochimaru slip away.

"Don't let him get away!!" they shouted in unison, two kunai hurtling towards him.

But Orochimaru, a veteran ninja, effortlessly dodged their attacks.

In a swift countermove, he swung his kunai with lethal precision, cutting down the two pursuing Sand Shinobi before they could react. The encounter left the mountainous terrain echoing with the clash of blades and the fading footsteps of Orochimaru, disappearing into the night and leaving behind a trail of chaos and unanswered questions.

Rasa found himself immersed in reading the reports streaming in from the Land of Fire border.

A bitter smile played on his lips as he realized the formidable strength he possessed.

That person not only showcased impressive skills but also wielded the power of natural thunder, a surprising revelation that left Rasa contemplating the unfolding events.

Suddenly, a commotion erupted outside his tent, interrupting his thoughts. "What's going on?" he questioned, his curiosity piqued.

“Kazekage-sama, it’s Orochimaru!!” one of his subordinates reported.

“Kazekage-sama, it’s Orochimaru!!” reported one of his subordinates, delivering news that darkened Rasa’s expression.

"Orochimaru?" The unexpected intrusion raised numerous questions in Rasa's mind. Why is Orochimaru here, and was this an unforeseen twist in the unfolding conflict?

Driven by urgency, Rasa hurried toward the source of the disturbance. As he approached, a massive snake head came into view, and perched atop it was Orochimaru.

Unaware of the delicate dealings between Rasa and Fugaku, Orochimaru encountered resistance from Sand Shinobi, who sought to halt his progress.

“Wind Release: Wind Cutter!” Orochimaru swiftly launched an attack, at the moment a kunai with an explosive tag attached to the snake’s neck.

The ensuing explosion marked a turning point, causing Orochimaru to mutter, “Uh-oh, this is troublesome!”

as his summoned snake endured a heavy blow, moments away from vanishing.

With a puff of white smoke, the summon disappeared, and Orochimaru descended, only to face an onslaught of puppets lunging toward him. The Sand Ninja closed in, determined to capture him. However, Orochimaru, masterfully eluding his pursuers, continued weaving hand seals as he ran.

“Summoning Technique!” Orochimaru invoked it, summoning a colossal snake.

He stood confidently on the snake’s head as it materialized. In a cold voice, the purple serpent spoke, “Hey, Orochimaru, why do you always summon me in this kind of situation? Are my hundred sacrifices ready?”

The snake revealed itself as none other than Manda, the revered leader of the snake clan and Orochimaru’s favorite summoning beast. The unfolding spectacle marked a dramatic twist, setting the stage for a battle of strategic wit and summoning prowess.
