I Am Fugaku Uchiha

Chapter 149: Fugaku, Rasa, and Date

After leaving, Fugaku sought out a secluded place where he could make his preparations. From his belongings, he retrieved the Sand Shinobi disguise he had readied beforehand.

Swiftly donning the disguise. He invoked the Peacock Method, causing wings to materialize on his back.

With a gentle flap of his newly formed wings, he ascended to a high altitude. The sensation of flight enveloped him, and within the cover of darkness, a shadowy figure swiftly streaked towards the Suna village.

In the vast desert of the Land of Wind, the Suna base stood as a secure refuge.

Rasa, adorned in the Kazekage robe, examined the information in his hands and asked.

"Are these old foxes finally going to act?"

Baki, positioned below him, spoke with a respectful tone. "On the side, the Konoha defense line boasts two of the three legendary ninjas—Tsunade and Orochimaru .

Additionally, there's the Uchiha clan leader with his unfathomable power, not to mention the formidable trio of Ino-Shika-Cho. Their combined strength makes it challenging to delay any further."

Rasa nodded in agreement, acknowledging the potency of the opposing forces. "Yes, but I never expected that the Uchiha Fugaku we met before..."

Rasa said this with anger in his heart. He wondered when Fugaku had escaped.

His words carried a tinge of anger, fueled by the realization that he had been deceived. He pondered when the imposter had managed to escape, grappling with the embarrassment of being duped by a simple transformation technique. The thought of facing his fellow sand shinobi after this lapse gnawed at him.

A sense of envy surfaced each time Rasa reflected on the ruse orchestrated by the imposter posing as Uchiha Fugaku.

Uchiha Fugaku had successfully infiltrated the Suna camp with just four individuals, managing to inflict injuries upon himself and retreat unscathed—an impressive feat in itself.

Despite this, as the Kazekage, he couldn't allow the actions of one man to intimidate him or cast fear over the entire Suna village.

"However, since Uchiha Fugaku is not present, if we want to use Chiyo-sama’s poison, we will have to face Tsunade, one of the three legendary ninjas," Baki informed with a respectful bow.

Rasa, seemingly placing trust in Baki, elevated his status to that of his former captain, Kazuki.

Rasa clasped his hands in contemplation and nodded, stating, "I need to think about how to execute this plan. I'll announce it tomorrow morning. You can go now."

Baki bowed and exited. Once alone, Rasa's gaze shifted to the Kazekage hat beside him, and a frown creased his brow.

The prospect of Uchiha Fugaku returning weighed heavily on Rasa's mind. He knew that facing Konoha's defense, especially with Fugaku's formidable strength, would be a daunting challenge. The mere presence of Fugaku could demoralize his troops, exacerbating their already precarious situation.

Avoiding dwelling on these thoughts, Rasa considered the financial strain on the Suna village.

In the midst of these contemplations, a sand shinobi entered the tent. Anticipating the intrusion, Rasa inquired without turning around, "What's happening at this hour?"

The battle had recently subsided, and Rasa, the Kazekage, was unaccustomed to disturbances at night. The sand shinobi's presence puzzled him, as interruptions during the calm were unusual.

"It's a small matter, Kazekage-sama," the familiar voice answered.

Turning around, Rasa's expression shifted from confusion to shock as he exclaimed, "It's you?"

"It's been a while, Kazekage-sama," Fugaku said with a smile.

His ability to fly had granted him ease and pleasure in infiltrating the Suna base at night. The memory of Deidara's aerial infiltration into the Suna Village decades prior crossed his mind. It had set a precedent for airborne attacks, catching the village off guard.

The base was relatively lax in security since there had been no battle.

Given the recent calm, the base's security was relatively lax. Rasa is still grappling with his disbelief.

Fugaku chuckled and remarked, "What? I came all the way here, and you won't invite me to sit down and have some tea?"

Rasa's response was far from hospitality. Baffled at how Fugaku managed to breach the heavily guarded base, Rasa thought of the potential danger.

At the time of the war, his base was supposed to be fortified with shinobi at every corner. Yet Fugaku appeared before him, seemingly without any hindrance.

In the midst of his shock, Rasa considered the implications. He realized he could have been killed at that very moment.

Shuddering at the thought, he composed himself and inquired in a deep voice, attempting to conceal his astonishment, "How did you get here?"

Aware that he was outmatched in strength, Rasa understood that Fugaku could have easily killed him in the confines of the tent. Recognizing that there must be a motive behind this unexpected visit, Rasa refrained from calling for help, deeming it futile.

Fugaku, making himself comfortable, took a seat and explained, "I took care of your two sentinels and used a transformation technique to get in."

The implications of Fugaku easily bypassing the sensory ninja raised questions about the competence of Rasa's security.

"What are you trying to do?" he asked, but he sounded unsure.

In response to Rasa's inquiry about his intentions, Fugaku, smiling as he sat on the chair, revealed his motive: "I'll be honest with you. I came back yesterday, and you can't attack Konoha while I'm here. So I suggest you withdraw your troops, or they will die in vain."

Rasa, contemplating the situation, remained silent. Fugaku, patient and composed, allowed the Kazekage to process the information.

After a while, Rasa spoke, calmly stating, "I can't agree to that. No, I should say that even if I agree, Suna elders won't."

Fugaku, intrigued, responded with an "Oh?" prompting Rasa to further explain, "You must have heard the news. The Land of Lightning and the Land of Earth are also sending their forces to Konoha. If I stop attacking Konoha, I'll lose my position as Kazekage!"

Before Fugaku could interject, Rasa raised his hand and continued, "Don't misunderstand me. I don't care about being Kazekage, but the Land of Wind won't miss this chance!"

Surprised by Rasa's revelation, Fugaku questioned, "So you mean that even if you resign, someone else will take your place as Kazekage and attack Konoha, right?"

Rasa responded with a sagely acknowledgment: "It seems that Lord Fugaku is a wise man. And since you are the Uchiha clan leader, you should know that sometimes you have no choice when you are in a high position."
