I am a pill container in the mage world

Chapter 411: Just Numbers

Ambition is one thing, and reality is another. After reaching Martial Immortal, the amount of resources it takes to advance to Immortal King is unimaginable—an amount in the range of over 30 digits in RM.

Honestly, Mike doubts whether the entire world has enough money to loan him to buy the resources he needs.

"RM, as a currency, is not suitable for transactions among immortals!" he thought. Unfortunately, as the official currency, he can only use RM to buy resources. There are a few other currencies guaranteed and supported by other forces in different countries, but those can’t be used in the portals set by Lana.

In short, anyone can set up their currency, but only with RM can one use the shopping portals and intercontinental transfer systems. For Mike, who lives in the southern continent and has no access to any major force, he is limited to using RM.

"Let's calculate how much money I need for Immortal King!" He thought about the prices of resources helpful for Martial Immortal realm cultivation and came up with a number.

"It should be doable with around 10.6 tredecillion RMs," he nodded to himself after double-checking.

A tredecillion has 42 zeros—so much money he can’t even imagine it.

"Well, hopefully, the system set by Lana can handle such large numbers!" he muttered as he left the room to meet Master Black. It's time to take another loan.

...

"A what? Tredecillion?" Master Black trembled as he heard it. This time, Lana hasn’t given him any orders, so he doesn’t know how to respond.

"Yeah, I have a red card. If we calculate it, paying back 1 million RM a day would take me about 30 decillion years. So, it should be fine, right?" Mike asked while releasing a bit of his terrifying rank 10 aura.

Master Black wanted to remind Mike of the last loan, which he still hasn’t paid. In fact, it would take Mike 5 septillion years to pay back the previous loan. Asking for another loan while the last one is still unpaid is outrageous.

"Please give me a moment!" Master Black called Lana for help.

...

"10.6 tredecillion? Okay, that’s fine. Give it to him; I’ll transfer the funds," she nodded.

Her world is far beyond imagination. The amount of money in circulation is unimaginable to those who don’t understand the true scale of things. In fact, the RM in circulation is far larger than this. The money in her personal bank account alone is just shy of a novemnonagintanonagintillion.

A novemnonagintanonagintillion has 999 zeros! And that’s just her personal account. Other accounts hold even more RMs, though these numbers are useless. After all, she owns and supports the RM currency; she can print as much RM as she wants. As long as she has enough resources and can back the currency with products, it will keep its value and remain the main official currency.

The money in circulation is far less than what’s in her account; even the entire wealth of her rank 13 world is nowhere near a novemnonagintanonagintillion.

For the purpose of giving Mike a loan, RM is only a temporary medium. These funds will soon return to her when Mike exchanges them for precious cultivation resources in the portal. The cultivation resources Mike would withdraw this time are all valuable rank 10 and 11 resources, but for Lana, a powerful rank 13 being, they are insignificant. What’s more, now that Luther has visited personally, Lana confirmed that the one backing Mike is indeed Rachel. To please her, Lana will gladly support Mike up to rank 12. Beyond that, however, she will hesitate to support him to rank 13 without Rachel’s express support. After all, martial arts training consumes vast resources, and Lana might not even have enough to support Mike’s advancement to rank 13.

No matter how many novemnonagintanonagintillions, novemmillinillions, googolplexians, or bicentillions of RM she has, without the resources, the money is worth nothing.

...

Master Black received the funds and transferred them to Mike. "Here you go. So remember, 1 million RM per day for another 30 decillion years! Got it?" Master Black asks to confirm.

"Sure, I’ll definitely pay it all back. Definitely," Mike repeated, his last "definitely" laced with mockery. Who would be alive or dead in a trillion years, let alone 30 decillion? He has long decided not to take these loans too seriously. Obviously, Lana, the one behind it all, doesn’t expect him to repay anything.

"It’s so good to have someone to support you!" Mike smiled. With infinite resources, his only task is to cultivate and grow stronger.

"I hope her pocket is deep enough to support me at least until rank 13! Then, I’ll kill her and take everything from her!" Mike thought maliciously. He hasn’t forgotten what she did—killing billions of people he had saved is not something he can forgive.

...

Mike sat down cross-legged. With enough resources at his disposal, he has no desire to do anything else. His only goal is to get as strong as possible, as fast as possible.

"Initially, I thought Lana was rank 11. I was wrong, by a lot. Now that I have rank 10 power, I can clearly see how terrifying she is! She’s beyond even rank 11, and even rank 12! She’s most likely a rank 13 being!" he thought.

"Even in my current state, I still don’t stand a chance. I just have to keep cultivating and getting stronger. Only then will I have a chance for revenge!" he resolved. Initially, he had only wanted to run, not daring to think of revenge. But, as his strength grows, so does his desire for retribution.

Mike is a realist. When he was weak and had no hope of ever reaching Lana's level, he didn’t entertain any thoughts of revenge. But now, he does.

Taking out the massive resources from his ring, he started to cultivate and increase his strength.

Even after achieving immortality, he still has to perform these martial arts poses. If he consumed the pills directly, they would still increase his strength, but with far less efficiency.

These martial arts poses, whatever they are, dramatically boost the rate at which he gains strength compared to not using them.

...

Lana looks at Mike with surprise.

"Martial arts poses were only supposed to work up to rank 10, right?" She quickly checked the main world settings and nodded. It’s as she thought.

"What’s going on?" Confused, she opens the code debugger. The martial arts poses are, simply put, subsidies by the world. Practicing martial arts using only resources is very expensive. Those who perform the poses receive the blessing of the world’s universal law, which helps them achieve more with less.

But the subsidy is supposed to be cut off when someone reaches rank 10. Mike has not only reached rank 10 but is quite strong within that rank.

"Could it be Luther? Did he hack the code?" she wondered. Hacking a rank 13 world casually is a terrifying notion, something only a rank 14 could do.

Lana ran the debugger, searching for anomalies in the code. After a few minutes, she finally found the source of the issue.

"It’s really Luther! No one else could code in this terrifying code line. Just this one line contains more strength than my entire world. Honestly, from a neutral perspective, it seems my world relies on this one line rather than the other way around!" she thought.

She has never seen anything like it.

The one line of code, written in an unknown, glowing gray, is a treasure to Lana. She feels that just by looking at it, her coding skills are massively improving. It is so strange that if an unprotected rank 10 immortal sees it, they might lose control and go insane.

"Rank 14 … is terrifying," Lana thinks.

Fortunately for her, the code doesn’t harm her or her world in the slightest. It makes minor modifications to her world's operations but doesn’t increase the burden, nor does it draw any energy from it. In fact, the opposite is true—it provides energy to the whole world, reduces expenditure, and has a positive impact overall.

"If Luther wanted to hide it, I would never have noticed. The fact that I was able to find it means he left it for me as a reward—to study and improve my skills. Good!" Lana concluded.

But these days, she has grown tired and bored of dealing with serious matters. So, she quickly created an incarnation. After some thought, she sent the incarnation away while her main body remained.

She didn't dare let her incarnation stare at the code. Who knows what mutations might occur? Her incarnation could be twisted and spiral out of control.

Therefore, she plans to study the code personally while her incarnations attend to the outside world.

The incarnation she cast is a unique technique. She can control it and see from its perspective. If she attends parties through the incarnation, her main body enjoys them, too. Even though most of her focus is on the line of code, she reserves some of her brainpower for fun.

"This will take a while," studying the code will take at least a few million years.
