Evolution Theory of the Hunter

Chapter 182

I placed the Escape Scroll in an easily available spot in the item list so that I could use it at any time.

I took one out and gave it to Edward just in case.

“Just hold it and use it when I tell you to.”

He silently nodded his head.

He had used it before to leave the vampire dungeon so there was probably no need to explain.

We passed the passage and arrived at a large hall.

It was a dark dungeon until now but this place had a few halogen lights on the ceiling. I turned off the light and looked around.

The height of the ceiling was about 10 meters. It was a large space with a length of 30 meters.

There were 5 long bars hanging from the ceiling and there were dozens of tools that seemed like lighting in each room.

There was a column about 50 cm higher than the rest of the ground and it seemed like a stage at a glance.

A stage and lighting.

It seemed like a multipurpose theater.

I tapped the transmitter and opened my mouth.

“Did you personally design the interior as well?”

[Ah…… Yes. It was made experimentally for now. Since a form familiar to humans is comfortable for us to appropriately defend against the attack of the Alpha system…… Please be careful! The enemies are coming!]

Dr. Suresh’ voice suddenly changed.

I could hear the racket from the Mantis’ approaching from every direction of the hall.

The total number of entrances to the stage were the four corners of the hall. From those, it would be three excluding the one I came from.

I took out my weapon and inspected the surroundings.

And soon enough, the ceiling crashed down.

The metal bar that had lightings on it swayed and fell to the ground.

With a tremendous sound all five lighting bars fell and a dozen Mantis’ landed on it.

Each and every one of them had the invincibility option.

“Where is the leader?”

[It’s in the proximity! It’s location is……!]

Something showed its figure by destroying the wall behind the stage before his words could end.

It was a monster that looked like beetle and was 5 meters long.

Grabgor (10) : An insect type devil race. Commands a large number of pawns and is covered in powerful armor. It’s weakness is its stomach. Changes its attack pattern when in a crisis.

Grabgor.

It was my first time seeing a guy of the devil race. Even Edward who was a vampire wasn’t called a devil race.

The Mantises vibrated their stomachs to spread an intimidating cry.

Ten Mantises were surrounding Edward and I in a half circle and the giant Grabgor was approaching from behind.

Its outward appearance was that of a mere beetle but I realized that its head part was similar to that of a human face from close up.

“That has a dangerous smell to it.”

Edward said with a frown.

I agreed.

A human face and an insect body.

It was the most unpleasant monster I had seen until now.

To look better than me as a mere insect.

That that moment, the eyes on the Grabgor’s head opened.

A buzzing sound like voice came from its mouth. It was as if two voices were overlapped.

[[Are you the one annoying me?]]

“Does it know how to talk?”

[[I will make you pay the price of awakening I, the Grabgor.]]

“I didn’t wake you up though. Don’t you have the wrong guy?”

[[Shut up. Aren’t you the one that woke me up while I was sleeping in the abyss?]]

“Sorry. But I don’t think that’s me. I don’t even know where the abyss is.”

[[Then who is it if it isn’t you!]]

“I’m not sure. It might be the Alpha system.”

[[Are you disdaining me!]]

The Grabgor raised its upper body and dropped down again.

The ground then shook with great force. I didn’t know how good of an infrastructure this place had but if it shook a few more times in this way I think it might collapse.

The enemy is 10 Mantises and a Grabgor.

Even if I could face a level 10 monster, it can’t be helped that facing 10 level 7 monsters would be tricky.

It seems the Grabgor knew that as well as it had a face that knew of its victory.

[[Kuhahaha! Flea like bastard! Face death while feeling despair!!]]

“Ah. Sorry but.”

I waved my hand in midair and made 20 mermaids appear.

15 warriors and 5 healers came out and held their weapons.

At that, I could see the imposing beetle twitch a bit.

[[What is this……?]]

“You’re not the only one with underlings.”

The warriors were level 7 while the healers were level 8. At this point, it wouldn’t be difficult to keep the opponents busy even if they are invincible.

If I killed the Grabgor in that time then it would be my victory.

The mermaids and Mantises began the battle by clashing their spears and nails.

Edward had already hidden and I flew towards the Grabgor while holding the Dancing Sword and Bloody Sword.

[[Die!]]

A black needle like projectile came out of, not his human face mouth, but his real mouth.

I made my body tilt to the side while maintaining the speed. It was a change in direction using psychokinesis, not the Dancing Sword.

Two needles pierced the stage ceiling and disappeared. From the aura on it, it seemed to have similar attack power to the Eight Trigrams Scutum.

I was thinking that it was a bit weak of an attack considering it was a level 10 monster but those needles got fired out of its mouth like a machine gun.

“Annoying bastard.”

I used the Dancing Sword to run in midair and ran away from the needles it was shooting.

The Grabgor shouted while crumpling its expression.

[[I thought you were a flea but it turns out you’re a mice bastard!!]]

“You’re noisy. Are things called devil race originally such talkative beings?”

I threw the Dancing Sword at the thing.

The Dancing Sword with Aura Blade got blocked easily by its backshell.

I was hoping that it could at least leave a dent but.

[[That level of power is futile!]]

It shouted with a triumphant voice.

He was a guy with a lot of words.

After retrieving the Dancing Sword I circled around it.

The hall was pretty wide but it wasn’t wide enough for the Grabgor to move freely.

In that situation, once I moved at high speeds it only kept spinning, unable to attack.

This is why having a large figure isn’t always a good thing.

The problem is that even I can’t attack.

The Grabgor’s weak point is its stomach that isn’t protected by the shell but it was difficult to attack since it was stuck on the ground like that.

However, the only weak point that could be seen wasn’t the stomach. I jumped up and threw the sword at its face.

The Dancing Sword shot towards its face as I wanted.

There was no way for the Grabgor to block this attack with its short legs.

He tried firing needles as desperate as he was but the Dancing Sword with Aura Blade deflected all of them and pierced into its face.

With a strange sound its face got split into two.

I called back the Dancing Sword that had fallen on the ground without any strength and inspected the thing.

I was suspicious as to whether it was finished with just this but a new face sprung out of the split face. It was a woman’s face this time.

[[Is that all you have?]]

The split man’s face and woman’s face that had just sprung out opened their mouth at the same time.

I had felt that the voice was overlapping but it turned out that this woman’s voice was mixed in.

“Is it not enough with just this as expected?”

I flung the sword once more.

The woman’s face got split in half. The sword got deflected instead of getting stuck but a new man’s face appeared from between the woman’s face.

Wow. This is becoming more and more grotesque.

I heard that it was a devil race but the method to deal with it was far more different than normal monsters.

Attacks such as stabbing its eye didn’t work on this guy.

I was wondering if I had no choice but to target its stomach as the manual said when I remembered the 30,000 reward points I had left.

If it was Armor Penetration that even destroyed the exoskeleton of the invincible attribute Mantis then it should be more than enough to destroy that sturdy shell.

I used up the remaining reward points to raise Armor Penetration all the way to 1,000.

Proficiency rose to 81.

– Armor Penetration rose to 1,000.

– Addition technique, Penetration can be used.

Penetration : Able to damage the internals by penetrating the opponent’s armor. Available for 10 minutes. Cooldown is a day.

A new technique got created once Armor Penetration reached 1,000.

It can be said that it was a skill I needed the most in the current situation. It was the shell of a level 10 powerful monster.

It might have been difficult to damage it even with Armor Penetration at 1,000.

However, if I were to use this additional technique then I’m thinking that I should be able to finish this battle pretty easily.

I raised the sword and raised my body. After rising to almost 20 meters by passing the destroyed ceiling and charged straight at the Grabgor.

[[Foolish!!]]

I could hear the Grabgor’s voice of ridicule.

The conclusion will show who was more foolish.

“Penetration.”

I activated the newly obtained technique. A 10 minute timer started at the right corner of my sight.

I dodged all the needles the Grabgor shot and approached it.

It seems it wanted to do its all to kill me but it’s impossible to do so with its figure.

No matter how powerful of a power one had, it still received the influence of the world’s law of physics so something smaller is bound to be faster.

I, who had gotten close, jumped onto its back shell.

[[Profane!!]]

I ignored the thing that was shouting this like a false religion pope and activated Aura Blade on the Dancing Sword.

A sense of fullness could be felt from the sword.

I struck down the sword with my all.

The sound of impact didn’t come from the outside.

With a sound that sounded like it came from the other side of a thick wall the Grabgor’s body jumped up as if it got electrocuted.

[[Uoooh!]]

A scream that had rage and pain mixed.

I realized that the damage had gone through properly so I struck down on its back without rest.

I could feel its innards shaking. Its back repeated splitting and closing. Whether it did so or not there was no need to waste such an opportunity.

The remaining time was 10 minutes. I was thinking about applying as much damage as I could in that time.

“Die! You bastard!”

I struck down the Dancing Sword as if chopping wood. It weight quite a bit.

Since it was being struck down with Aura Blade covering it, there was no way the level 10 Grabgor could endure it.

[[Ahhh! Stop! Stop it!]]

“I see you haven’t come to your senses even in this situation.”

Did it think that I could listen to its command.

I didn’t know what kind of beings the devil race was but I think I know at the very least that its intelligence is lacking.
