Dynasty Rebirth Infinity

Chapter 1 – Accelerated Skill Learning

Inside a small mud house-

"Happy Birthday, Ewan!"

Ewan faked a happy smile as he experienced his second 7th birthday.

On a wooden table were rye bread, fruit, butter, meshed herbs, and cooked fish caught from the nearby river. It was a relatively sumptuous meal for their frugal selves but was a necessary occasion.

It was common knowledge that the first seven years of life were the most dangerous for any child, dying due to various reasons. One in six children usually passed before reaching the age of 1, and another 6th died before reaching seven. It also marked the day when children could select their first class, raising their survival rate. In their case, they always selected Farm Hand, which raised Physique by 1. From there, the chance of death significantly dropped, with most children usually surviving to adulthood.

"Ewan, from today on, you can now start helping on the farm." Ewan's father, George, happily patted Ewan's head. From now on, he would have someone help him in the field, which was a great help!

"Yes, father. I will do my best!" Ewan earnestly said.

Ewan didn't reject George being his father nor deny his mother, Amaya, being his daughter in his previous life. Perhaps it was due to Ewan organically integrating into this life during his first seven years, removing most of his attachments.

The reincarnated farmer wanted to help as much as possible on the farm and ensure that his family prospered. That was his sole wish.

"That's my son." Amaya, now a 23-year-old woman with four children and pregnant with her fifth, happily smiled. She was lucky enough that all four of her first children survived.

"Wow, big brother! I am so envious of you! I wish I could also unlock my class soon." Amy said with a look of longing.

"Me too! Me too!" Corey, his 3-year-old younger brother, also added.

"Ah!" Lois, the 1-year-old baby sister, didn't know what was happening, only happily smiling.

Ewan's eyes softened, "I am sure you will soon."

"I will do my best to protect you, my family."

The next day-

In a weed-filled field, still wet from the rainy season-

Ewan and his father wielded wooden hoes and buckets, ready to work the field.

"Ewan! Today is your first official day as a Farm Hand. To successfully transition to your class, you must perform actions related to the class, such as weeding or plowing the field." George, a 28-year-old farmer of average build, said to his son.

"Yes, father." Ewan nodded.

"Good. Come with me. I will teach you how to weed properly, so watch closely and then do as I do. If you do the Weeding poorly, it might affect the crops later." George warned.

"Yes, father. I will." Ewan nodded again.

George smiled and walked to a patch of wild weeds with a wooden hoe.

"Ewan, carefully observe my movements and learn. When you think you are ready, try doing it yourself." George said.

"Okay," Ewan said.

He then watched his father stick the hoe in the soil before carefully scraping out the weed, careful not to damage the roots. Once the weed was out, George held it up and showed it to Ewan.

"Did you get the trick? If you damage the roots and some are left, the weed will regrow, making our work pointless. When you extract one, throw it in the bucket." George said before throwing the weed into a bucket.

"I understand!" Ewan said.

"Good. Come and try." George said.

Ewan nodded and went to the patch of weeds before copying his father's movements and skillfully used his hoe to extract a weed, roots intact. The process was challenging due to his small strength, but through rich experience, he got it right. At the same time, Ewan received system messages.

Ding*

[Conditions Met. After Weeding the fields, you have unlocked the Entry Class, Farm Hand.]

[Available Class Slots: 1/1]

[Would you like to change to Farm Hand? Yes/No?]

[This act is permanent. Once selected, it would occupy a class slot.]

"Good!" Ewan thought, clenching his fists.

"Good, Ewan! You got it right!" George smiled. "Did you also receive the class notification?"

"Yes, father. I received it." Ewan replied with an excited smile.

"Good! Now, quickly change to your new class. It would allow you to learn new skills and grant you your first Core Skill." George said.

"Okay, father," Ewan said and chose to change his class.

As soon as it happened-

Ding*

[You have changed your class to Farm Hand(Entry, lvl 1, 0/100).]

[You gained +1 Physique.]

[You learned the Core Skill, Farming Tool Proficiency(lvl 1)]

Farming Tool Proficiency(lvl 1): Gives a positive correction when using farming tools.

Immediately, Ewan eagerly checked his status but was left disappointed.

Name: Ewan
Sex: Male
Age: 7
Classes: Farm Hand(Entry, lvl 1, 0/100).

Stats:

Strength: 3(5)
Physique: 4(6->7)
Agility: 3(5)
Intelligence: 4(5)
Spirit: 4(5)
Charisma: 3(5)

Skills:

Farm Hand: Farming Tool Proficiency(lvl 1).

Attribute Points: 0
Skill Points: 0

"My skills are back to zero. And this body has the same qualifications I had in my previous life." Ewan bitterly thought.

By all means, this body was not a genius, only having a slightly better physique that helps to resist disease. That is already a good thing for a serf. At least his survival rate and working capacity are higher than his peers.

"Did you successfully change?" George asked.

"Yes, father. I did!" Ewan said with fake excitement.

"Good boy. The changes will not happen immediately but will take a few days to show. You will likely be hungrier for a few days, so eat more." George smiled.

"Thank you, father," Ewan replied.

"Now, we will continue weeding. You will likely learn the Weeding skill after a few tries, so don't be startled." George said.

"Okay!" Ewan replied and started to weed the field together with his father.

With the addition of Farming Tool Proficiency(lvl 1), Ewan immediately felt that wielding the hoe was a tad easier.

On his first attempt, he received a message.

[Weeding exp +1]

[You have done Weeding and learned the general skill: Weeding(lvl 1, 1/100)]

"Oh! Nice! It took me a hundred times in my last life." Ewan thought and continued Weeding.

The skill itself didn't do anything. Only when the skill reaches lvl 2 will the system grant pieces of information, making him better at the job. However, Ewan didn't need this since he experienced it once up to level 4. It wouldn't make any difference to him.

However, Ewan's expression changed after weeding the second weed.

[Weeding exp +1]

"What?! How?! It should have taken at least another few dozen times." Ewan was stunned. It defied common knowledge and his life experience.

Hesitantly, he tried three more times.

[Weeding exp +1]

[Weeding exp +1]

[Weeding exp +1]

[Farm Hand exp +1]

Ewan was stunned again, but soon, he vaguely understood what was happening.

"Is my experience from my previous life catching up?" Ewan's eyes shined.

If that was the case, he could quickly level up his class and skills!

"Okay! Let's do this!"

And so, Ewan enthusiastically weeded the fields, a grueling task that most would find exhaustingly boring and back-breaking work.

George secretly looked at his son working, a glint in his eyes. "My boy is so hardworking."

And so, father and son continued their work.

.

.

.

That night-

The family soundly slept on dry straw and vegetation, covering themselves in thick, uncomfortable blankets. But after getting used to it for a lifetime, it was almost a given to Ewan. Serfs like himself rarely had a bed. They couldn't afford it.

Ewan struggled to sleep beside his sister Amy as he looked at his gains.

[Weeding level up!]

[Weeding level up!]

[Farm Hand level up!]

[You gained one Attribute Point and one Skill Point!]

[Used one Skill Point to level up Farming Tool Proficiency(lvl 1) to Farming Tool Proficiency(lvl 2)!]

Name: Ewan
Sex: Male
Age: 7
Classes: Farm Hand(Entry, lvl 2, 9/300).

Stats:

Strength: 3(5)
Physique: 4(7)
Agility: 3(5)
Intelligence: 4(5)
Spirit: 4(5)
Charisma: 3(5)

Skills:

Farm Hand: Farming Tool Proficiency(lvl 1->2), Weeding(lvl 3, 160/500)

Attribute Points: 1
Skill Points: 0

"Amazing." Ewan thought in a daze.

Something that could take months took a mere day. Leveling up a skill was more difficult the higher the level it was. Correspondingly, class leveling went on the same logic. It took more effort to gain the experience points, and the amount required was higher. But even then, he leveled up this quickly! Both on levels 1 and 2, the speed of gaining experience remained almost constant.

"If that's the case. Then I can return to my glory days soon! No, I can surpass them!" Ewan's eyes shined with ambition. "Three years later, I would start my militia training. When that happens, I would be required to switch classes by then. I wonder what level Farm Hand can reach? Would I be stuck as a Farm Hand? Or will I get a better post?"

With those thoughts in mind, Ewan fell asleep.

.

.

.

Seasons came and passed, and Ewan's family also changed.

He gained two new siblings, but his second brother got sick and died. He mourned him a bit, but being hardened by the loss of several of his children and siblings in his previous life, he quickly got over it. It only made the reincarnated farmer more resolved to improve himself in this life.

.

.

.

Three years later-

At a training grounds-

A group of boys faced an adult wearing simple armor and holding a spear.

"Hello, kids! Today, we will start your compulsory Militia Training. From today until you can't wield a weapon, you will dedicate several hours a week to training your Spearmanship, Archery, using a Shield, and basic drills. It will help protect you and your family in the future." The man said.

"Okay, Uncle Isaac!" The boys said.

"Good! You must promote your initial class now. You will then study the Trainee class, the class before Militia." Isaac instructed.

"Yes!" The boys nodded and began to fiddle with their status.

Ewan was, of course, one of them. However-

Skill Points: 0

Farmer's Wisdom(lvl 3): Raises perception of improving your farm, soil condition, weather, and potential hazards.

During these three years, Ewan quickly regained his past skills and even surpassed them! But the skill experience was slower from that point. However, he didn't become a level 5 Farmer not because he couldn't, but because he raised himself to the peak of Farm Hand, level 5! It gave him two extra Skill Points and Attribute Points.

And now, he was about to continue with Trainee. This time, he planned to raise Trainee to level 5!

"Did you all promote your class?" Isaac asked.

"Yes, Uncle Isaac!" The boys replied.

"Good. Pick the dummy spears and start training with me." Isaac instructed.
