Chapter 30: Shitty Localization.

*Celia’s POV*

The book that Amelie gave me, was extremely detailed. And within minutes, I was able to learn how to use magic. See? I am true to my word. Not! I yell in my head, before throwing the book at the wall.

Why did I do that? Because Amelie unintentionally scammed me… The book was in a language that I did not understand at all. It is probably in the common tongue for humans. Problem is, all I know is demon language, so I can’t learn anything from the book at the moment…

With a sigh, I picked the book back up, and put it into my pouch. No. The book was completely undamaged from my fit of rage. As I did that just for comedic effect, I didn’t put any force into my throw at all. I even made sure to catch it before it fell, and then put it somewhere safe. Ah, the things that I do for comedy…

Ruina: “Sometimes, I question your sanity.” She said with a sigh.

Celia: “Only sometimes? I guess that I should try harder than.” I say with a smug tone.

Ruina: “…”

With disappointment from not being able to read the book, I left Amelie’s house, to explore the forest once more. I did make sure to eat before leaving, though. Truly, the food that Yona packed for me is amazing!

It tastes even better when I delude myself into thinking that she was the one who made the food. Considering how she acts, it is very likely that some maid was the one to cook the food, and not her.

Once out of the house, the sun was bright and very warm on my skin. I felt greatly energized today! Which is probably from the good sleep that I had, and the good food that I ate this morning. Picking a random direction to walk in, I set off on an adventure!

*Hours Later.*

Adventure my ass! I am almost bored to tears at this point… I haven’t come across a SINGLE goddamn monster at all. Not to mention, this forest isn’t that interesting either. After walking for so long, the trees around me are now just normal sized trees. Though, I can still see the ones that are the size of buildings, off in the distance.

With my bored mind, I came up with a dangerous way to alleviate my boredom. Taking a wood cutting axe out of my storage, I then walk over to a tree.

Ruina: “Are you really about to do what I think that you’re about to do?…” She asked with a concerned tone.

Celia: “Yes, I am. Now, when the woodcutting Skill shows up, please acquire it for me. Thanks!” I say with a nonchalant tone, before striking at the tree with my axe.

Without the required Skill, cutting the tree down with my child noodle arms was a decent challenge. I can’t really use momentum like when I used my pickaxe. After twenty minutes of me cutting the tree, it finally fell down. With great pride in my heart, I walked over to the fallen tree to admire my work.

But now what do I even do with the tree? Sure, I could just deforest the entire place, but I would at least like to make some use out of the trees that I cut down...

Ruina: “Celia, just transport them to your dungeon.” She said with a sigh.

Celia: “I can do that?” I ask with a head tilt.

Ruina: “Yes. You don’t even have to go there. Just put your hand on the tree, and think about teleporting it to your dungeon.” She replied.

Doing just as Ruina said to do, I put my hand on the fallen tree, and thought about taking it to my dungeon. A few seconds after doing so, the tree disappeared in a flash of light. What fun! Now I don’t have to worry about wasting the trees!

Celia: “Did I get access to the woodcutting Skill?” I ask with a curious tone.

Ruina: “Yes. And I have already acquired it for you. Just go crazy now, I guess.” She replied with a defeated tone.

Celia: “Great! And I won’t go as crazy as when I did with those Mana Crystals.” I reply with a happy tone.

*Many, Many Hours Later.*

Looking down at the vast amount of work that I achieved, I felt great pride. Truly, no one is as thorough as me!

Ruina: “Didn’t you say that you WOULDN’T go crazy!?” She yelled.

Celia: “Hm? I didn’t, though? I was fully aware this entire time.” I reply with a raised eyebrow.

Ruina: “For the love of all existence, why the hell did you spend literal HOURS just cutting down trees!?” She yelled once more.

Celia: “Well, just because I didn’t have anything else to do.” I say with a shrug.

Ruina: “I can’t believe I trusted your words… If only I knew that you were going to do this, I wouldn’t have left you alone, while I worked on stuff…” She said with a sigh.

Celia: “Eh, at least I have a ton of lumber if I ever need any.” I say with a nonchalant tone.

Thinking about it, I should check out my Woodcutting Skill. Unlike with the Mining Skill, I spent way more time cutting trees down, than I did when I mined out those Mana Crystals. I was in a semi-asleep state during that time, after all.

Holyshit? I actually maxed out a Skill! And I even got a useful Title as well! This amount of progress might sound crazy, but do be aware, I am sure that I cut down at least over five thousand different trees.

I am very satisfied with my deforestation efforts. Besides, as Yona said, no one owns this forest, so it is not like I have broken any laws. If anything, people should be grateful that I will be funneling more lumber into the market. That is, when I actually have the chance to sell all of the stuff that I have farmed…

While I was thinking about this, Yona showed up out of nowhere. You know, I am not stupid, so at this point, I am decently sure that she has been watching me. If she was the one who has been watching me this entire time, it would explain why I have not come across any monsters. Since she would just deal with them before they could reach me.

Yona: “Celia, I have realized that leaving you here in this forest, would be a very bad idea. So, I came back to lead you to the human kingdom near here.” She said with a warm tone.

Celia: “I would appreciate that greatly. But first, could I ask why you have been following me around? Didn’t you say that coddling me would be a bad idea?” I ask with a serious tone and expression.

Yona: “…I couldn’t just let you die. Your existence is very important in this world.” She replied.

Celia: “I get that, but could you have at least left some monsters for me to kill? Because you kept killing them, I haven’t had the chance to increase my Stats or level at all.” I ask with a sigh.

Yona: “I am deeply sorry for that. Despite how easy you’ve had it, most of monsters in this forest are more than you can handle.” She replied with a sigh of her own.

Celia: “Yona, despite my appearance, I am not a child.” I reply with a slightly annoyed tone.

Yona: “And I am not treating you as a child. The plan was to only let you come across monsters that you could handle. But every monster around here was on the same level of that Goblin Champion.” She explained.

Celia: “Seriously?” I ask with head tilt.

Yona: “Yes. Although I cannot use the System, I can estimate that they are at least as powerful as that monster was.” She answered.

Celia: “Okay, fine. But besides wanting to protect me, what is the real reason for you to follow me around? Yona, there is nothing in life that I hate more than getting played by people that I care about.” I ask with a serious tone.

Yona: “I have your best interests in mind, I assure you. My kingdom does not wish to hoard you for ourselves, but getting on your good side is something that we will do.” She explained.

It took a while, but Yona eventually convinced me that she was sincere in her helping me out. After discussing it for a while, she and I started walking in the direction of a human kingdom. The reason being, is that she recommended that I go there. I wonder what I will find there?
