Chapter 10: Marked for Survival

Chapter 10: Marked for Survival

Two days had passed, and Ye Min was finished familiarizing himself with his techniques. The trial had finally announced its news, and all the people in the world could see the golden text written in the sky.

The teleportation will begin in 20 seconds. Please be prepared, as the trial will be unpredictable. We will also show the trial to entertain each world; the rules will be announced upon the creation of a new dimension.

Upon seeing the message, the world erupted into excitement. People began to discuss the trial animatedly, thrilled by the prospect of spectating.

Ye Min, however, remained calm. Confidence radiated from him as he understood he could outclass everyone else. He examined his status window, a smile creeping onto his face as he realized he had grown stronger after breaking through to the Spirit Profound Realm just yesterday. He felt invincible, capable of crushing anyone below his level with ease.

Everyone was nervous, including Ye Lin, Ye Min's younger sister. She felt inadequate compared to him, lacking his techniques and abilities. Although she ranked among the top two participants in their world, she didn’t mention it, believing it wouldn’t matter against her brother Ye Tian prowess. If Ye Min knew how she felt, he would surely offer her equipment and techniques to help her improve.

The countdown continued, and the young geniuses fidgeted with anxiety.

“Hahaha! Now I can finally show off!” Ye Tian exclaimed, giggling with excitement.

The countdown continued until it reached zero.

“BOOM! BOOM!”

A brilliant golden light exploded around the world, scattering in every direction.

“Swish! Swish!”

Ye Min found himself enveloped in golden light, feeling dizzy as his vision blurred. Suddenly, he was pulled through a shimmering veil.

“Argh!”

As the light faded, he stood in an unfamiliar landscape.

“Oh! Am I already in the newly created world?” Ye Min marveled, taking in the towering mountains in the distance, their peaks capped with glistening snow.

“Hmmm. This environment seems volatile, but I’m not an ordinary human anymore. I can condense my Qi and manipulate it at will, so I don’t have to worry,” he reassured himself.

His gaze swept over the lush forests sprawling below, their vibrant greens and golds dazzling his eyes. The air was crisp, filled with the scents of pine and wildflowers. A gentle breeze rustled the leaves, creating a calming melody. Suddenly, a loud ding shattered the tranquility, startling everyone, including Ye Min.

“DING…”

After the echoing sound, the sky illuminated, revealing important announcements.

The trial will begin. All 10,000 worlds will spectate at their heart’s content.

After declaring that all lower worlds could observe, a massive golden screen materialized in the sky, enveloping the entire world. Each world had its own monitoring screen.

The heavenly dao then continued to explain the rules.

The rules are simple: kill as many people as you can. The participants with the highest kills will be greatly rewarded. Additionally, those who fail to kill at least 100 cultivators will immediately lose their qualification for upcoming trials.

Current people alive: 1,000,000

Ranking Kills: None currently

Hearing the rules filled Ye Min and everyone else with terror at the madness of the trial.

Meanwhile, a mysterious masked man observed the rankings, a smirk playing on his lips.

“Kekeke, now with these rules, I’m free to hunt down these geniuses,” he sneered, jealousy and contempt evident in his eyes as he watched the naive youngsters.

He moved stealthily toward a nearby tree, looking for lost cultivators to prey upon.

“Heh.” The masked man grinned when he spotted an ordinary-looking young man wandering about, completely defenseless. He crept closer, preparing to strike, but before he could reach his target, “Whoosh! Splash!” his vision shifted abruptly, and his head rolled away from his body as blood gushed forth.

“Splash! Gurgle, gurgle... Chhhhhh! Drip, drip.”

“Argh! What a mess! Did he really think I wouldn’t notice his bloodlust?” Ye Min remarked, staring at the lifeless corpse with an expressionless face. “I thought I had concealed my Qi completely, yet how did this bastard find me when her realm was only elementary?” He examined the mask closely.

“Hmmm. This mask isn’t bad; it’s perfect for hiding my identity, ensuring that I won’t have too many grudges,” he mused, pulling the mask off the corpse, blood splattering everywhere. He donned it with a wicked grin, saying, “Hehehe. Let’s see if those main characters survive when they see me. If I cross paths with them, I won’t hold back; I know they wouldn’t hesitate to strike first if given the chance.”

Despite the fact that everyone could see the trial, they would only notice those in groups or those who had already killed multiple people and gained highlights. Coincidentally, Ye Min had only killed one person because he had been cautious in these remote areas.

Afterward, Ye Min unsheathed his sword and continued walking, concealing his aura while secretly checking the ranking.

Current people alive: 998,916

Ranking Kills:

1: Lao Hou [kills: 16]

2: Yi Zhou [kills: 13]

“Hoh, isn’t that last name from the Zhou family in our world?” Ye Min remarked, recalling that Yi Zhou was also on the rankings.

“Haha, I can’t believe they’re revealing their personalities along with their identities,” he muttered, shaking his head.

“Good luck; I hope your family stays safe.”

Afterward, the rankings continued to shift as many participants turned on each other, disregarding any sense of friendship.
