Are You Crazy? You’re Telling Me This Is a Fugitive TV Show?

Chapter 45 The Formidable Captain Hong Feng and Wang Yuns Crisis

Zhao Shan was an experienced retired police officer, yet he found himself puzzled by Wang Yun’s audacious provocations and the unfolding arrest operation. Given Wang Yun’s character as a fugitive, it seemed certain that he would make a move today.

However, having thoroughly surveyed the entirety of Nansu Plaza, Zhao Shan felt that carrying out a crime here wouldn’t be that straightforward. This location was the heart of Nancheng after all.

Furthermore, since Wang Yun had already alerted their inspection team in advance, he undoubtedly knew they were planning to set up a proper sting operation to capture him. Therefore, it seemed improbable that he would focus on the gold and silver jewelry or luxury items displayed on the first floor.

“What are you getting at, Brother Zhao?” Zhang Xingchen questioned, his brows knitted together.

“Our main objective right now is to deduce Wang Yun’s target. Once we determine that, everything else will fall into place. However, I find it unlikely that his aim would be the gold jewelry or luxury items on the first floor,” Zhao Shan stated candidly.

“Do you have any insights on this, Brother Zhao?” Zhang Xingchen asked earnestly.

“Not currently. I need to gather more information,” Zhao Shan responded, shaking his head.

“Suspected Crime Zone for the Fugitive: Nansu Plaza Area.”

“Timeframe: Today.”

“Why would the fugitive choose today of all days to act?”

“What’s different about the Nansu Plaza area today compared to usual?”

“Potential Targets for the Suspected Fugitive: 1. First-floor area of gold and luxury goods. 2. Unknown. 3. Unknown.”

“Additionally, how could the fugitive infiltrate Nansu Plaza under such tight security measures?”

At that moment, seated next to Zhang Xingchen, Hong Feng meticulously jotted down questions in his notebook, casting a thoughtful glance toward him.

Seeing this, Zhang Xingchen wore an expression of deep contemplation.

“Have Skyhawk check if there are any special events at Nansu Plaza today. I’ve also been mulling over a loophole in our current security measures at the plaza,” Hong Feng said. “The loophole is this. If Wang Yun can hire a courier to deliver items to us, he could just as easily pay someone to smuggle him into Nansu Plaza disguised as cargo.”

Hong Feng continued his line of reasoning, tapping his pen thoughtfully against the table, emanating an aura of profound wisdom.

Upon hearing Hong Feng’s words, Zhang Xingchen’s eyes narrowed. “Captain Hong Feng, are you implying that Wang Yun may already be inside the plaza?”

“I can’t say for certain, it’s merely a hypothesis,” Hong Feng mused, his eyes subtly twinkling. “Luggage, cargo boxes, any of these could potentially smuggle him inside, and they’re too numerous to check thoroughly.”

He continued, “Let’s set that concern aside for now. Even if he’s inside, what matters more is intensifying our scrutiny of everyone exiting the area. Open and inspect any boxes they’re carrying. If he did manage to sneak in that way, he might let his guard down when leaving, thinking he’s in the clear. If so, he’ll be like a turtle caught in a jar.”

“Catching a turtle in a jar?” Zhang Xingchen’s eyes lit up upon hearing Hong Feng’s analogy, and his face displayed genuine admiration. “You’re incredibly astute, Captain Hong Feng.”

Hong Feng humbly shook his head. “Actually, Brother Zhao has already picked up on some of these issues. He may connect the dots shortly.”

Zhang Xingchen chuckled, “Once this operation is over, dinner is on me, Captain Hong Feng.”

He was more than willing to accept Hong Feng’s guidance. After all, taking advice from Hong Feng was a small price to pay, especially when compared to the public humiliation that Wang Yun could inflict.

His mindset had already shifted, even if just slightly.

“To all team members, please listen carefully. Captain Hong Feng has just shared some valuable insights. It’s possible that Wang Yun could be smuggled into Nansu Plaza concealed in a luggage or a cargo box. Moving forward, we will rigorously inspect all such containers exiting the plaza. Also, find out if there’s anything unusual happening at Nansu Plaza today, such as special events, that sets it apart from a regular day,” Zhang Xingchen immediately relayed his instructions to the entire inspection team.

“Understood, Captain!”

At Zhang Xingchen’s command, the eyes of the program inspectors brightened as they acknowledged his instructions.

“Cheating alert! Zhang Xingchen called in a heavy hitter to assist him!”

“Wow, are you kidding me? Captain Hong Feng is a genius! He’s guessed everything correctly. Every single thing, No wonder he’s such a formidable figure!”

“I can confirm he’s guessed it all. I just came from Wang Yun’s livestream. He’s targeting Lingzhu Group’s jewelry, possibly the Dazzling Starry Sky piece worth hundreds of millions.”

“This is bad news for Wang Yun. Zhang Xingchen’s called in backup, what a shameless move!”

“Captain Hong Feng guessed everything? How terrifying is that? How’s Wang Yun going to get out of this one?”

In the live broadcast of the command center room, everyone was left speechless when they saw Hong Feng step in to assist Zhang Xingchen.

Just moments before, some viewers who had pieced together Wang Yun’s plans were astounded by the unfolding events.

But then Captain Hong Feng, a real game-changer, stepped in. With just a few succinct sentences, he not only deciphered all of Wang Yun’s moves but also effectively cut off his escape routes.

Such strategic brilliance and insight were truly mind-boggling.

“Uh-oh, looks like Big Brother is in serious trouble!” many of Wang Yun’s fans echoed on his livestream.

At the same time, Wang Yun, situated on the top floor of Nansu Plaza Tower, remained oblivious to the unexpected intervention from another captain that had partially uncovered his whereabouts.

At half past ten, the banquet officially commenced, filling the hall with hundreds of attendees.

Situated at the center was the glamorous Yang Jiaying, elegantly dressed and accompanied by the Chairman of Lingzhu Group, as they made their way forward.

Seeing the event about to begin, Wang Yun squinted his eyes and leaned over to Song Dahai, “Brother, I need to hit the restroom. The bladder dam’s about to burst and I need to release the floodwaters, if you know what I mean.”

“What are you doing? The event’s goddess just made her entrance and you’re bailing? And where’s your sister? The banquet has started and she’s still not here?” Song Dahai questioned, bewildered.

“I don’t know and don’t care about my sister right now,” Wang Yun shrugged and patted Song Dahai on the shoulder. “I really need to go, but I’ll be back shortly.”

“You sure you’re only going for a restroom to pee?” Song Dahai asked, casting a skeptical glance.

Wang Yun responded with a defiant middle finger before making his way to the restroom.

His operation was about to be set into motion.

A face-off had officially begun.
