American Comics: The Mighty Superman, Starting From Gwen Spider

Chapter 5: The Husband And The Demon

Peter, who had just awakened his Superman powers, couldn't wait for the lightning to come and give him a head. In fact, he was itching to fight.

But Peter felt that if he were to really punch the lightning with all his might... not only would the lightning die, but there might not even be any remnants left.

Just thinking about such a brutal murder happening in a youthful campus made Peter feel that the scene was too bloody.

"Peter, you have successfully angered me! It seems that in just one summer vacation, you have forgotten too many things. Now, let me help you remember!"

The lightning strode over to Peter and swung his right fist towards Peter's face.

Peter raised an eyebrow and remained calm.

Mainly because the lightning's movements were too slow in Peter's eyes!

In the instant the lightning threw a punch, Peter felt like the scene was being played in slow motion, several times slower than normal.

Without giving the lightning a chance to regret, Peter's right hand reached out and grabbed the lightning's fist, then gently pushed it forward.

The lightning felt like his body was out of control, repeatedly stepping back, and finally fell on his butt, in a sorry state.

"Oh my god!"

"Oh shit!"

The group of students who were originally prepared to watch the show couldn't help but exclaim.

Countless students stared wide-eyed at this scene, finding it hard to believe!

"Am I seeing things? Lightning Thompson actually lost!?"

"What a joke! Is Peter Parker, that nerd, really this powerful?"

"It's truly astonishing, this seemingly insignificant person turned out to be someone who hides their true abilities!"

Lightning sat on the ground, staring blankly at Peter, who had a indifferent expression on his face.

It wasn't until a searing pain reached his buttocks that Lightning snapped out of his daze. Faced with the eyes of everyone around him focused on him, Lightning felt an indescribable sense of shame welling up inside him.

Lightning Thompson, the bully of Midtown Science High School, had actually been taught a lesson by the unremarkable bookworm, Peter Parker!

In this moment, Lightning felt incredibly embarrassed. If he didn't teach Peter Parker a harsh lesson, the reputation he had built at Midtown Science High School would be completely destroyed!

Unacceptable!

Absolutely unacceptable!

How could that useless bookworm, Peter Parker, possibly push him to the ground with just one hand!

Furious, Lightning stood up and shouted at Peter, "Damn you, Parker! I was careless just now, you—"

But before Lightning could finish his sentence, a reprimanding voice suddenly rang in his ears.

"Lightning! Stop it!"

Lightning froze in his tracks.

Gwen, with an angry expression on her face, quickly walked up to Lightning from the stone path.

Seeing Gwen Stacy appear, Lightning's angry expression suddenly faltered.

"Lightning Thompson, what do you think you're doing? Trying to attack Peter in front of everyone, is that it?" Gwen stood with her hands on her hips, her beautiful face filled with anger as she looked at Lightning.

As Peter looked at Gwen, standing with her hands on her hips, blocking his path, his expression became subtly complicated, because the phrase "protective wife" inexplicably popped into his mind.

In the past, when Lightning and others bullied Peter, Gwen had several instances of standing up for him.

Due to Gwen's popularity in school and her police officer father, Lightning and others were afraid of being dealt with by Gwen's father, so they never dared to offend Gwen in school.

Looking at Gwen, who was glaring at him in front of Peter, Lightning felt inexplicably frustrated.

It was clear that he was the one who lost face, the one who was humiliated, and he hadn't even retaliated yet, and that annoying Gwen Stacy appeared!

Lightning's expression changed several times, but in the end, he slowly put down his raised fist.

His gaze focused on Peter, and Lightning was about to say something, but he suddenly saw Peter Parker's eyes.

That kind of devouring gaze made Lightning feel a chill in his heart.

Lightning swore that he had never seen such a terrifying look in Peter before.

Thinking of recent news reports about honest people being bullied to the extreme and eventually exploding into violence... Lightning was a little scared.

"Pe... Peter, let's wait and see! I promise, buddy, this won't be the last time!"

"Okay, I'll wait for you, Lightning," Peter replied coldly.

Despite feeling apprehensive inside, Lightning had to put on a tough act and leave a harsh remark before hastily picking up the basketball on the ground and walking away quickly.

As Gwen watched Lightning's figure recede into the distance, her stern expression softened.

Gwen turned around, intending to comfort Peter, but she saw a strange smile on his face.

Faced with the peculiar smile on Peter's face, Gwen felt a little uncomfortable. "Gwen, what can I say about your behavior just now? It had a bit of a possessive husband vibe."

"Protect... Protecting my husband like a maniac?" Gwen felt like steam was about to burst out of her head, her cheeks burning hot.

"Peter, stop saying such things! People will misunderstand!" Gwen stomped her feet in embarrassment and ran away in a panic.

Watching Gwen's fleeing figure, Peter was also stunned.

Although Gwen was born into a traditional and conservative family, her personality was actually very open and straightforward.

Therefore, Peter never expected Gwen to show a shy side in front of him.

After watching Gwen's figure disappear into the distance for a while, Peter shifted his gaze to where the lightning was.

Upon careful consideration, lightning was just an ordinary high school student, while he himself could kill someone with a sneeze. It was not worth paying attention to.

On the other hand, if he switched to his super-powered bloodline and killed Lightning, would he be able to obtain Kryptonite?

Thinking of this, Peter was suddenly startled, as if he had just realized something.

When did he become so bold? He actually had the thought of killing Thunder Thompson?

"Is it because of the increase in power that my character is also changing?"

"It seems that I need to strengthen my character training a bit."
