All Stat Slayer

Chapter 42: (1): Season 1: Preparation

It had been customary to divide the items from Slaying or Monster Stone by 1/N. Of course, the combat slayers played the most significant role in Slaying. However, since the number of combat slayers was much higher than that of recovery slayers or support slayers, their market value was relatively lower. As a result, while combat slayers had a higher contribution in terms of performance, their market value was lower, leading to the implicit practice of dividing items by 1/N.

However, a change occurred in the Normal Mode. Hyun-seok frowned slightly.

“They implemented a differentiated distribution system based on contribution…?”

It was said that a new rule was applied during dungeon clearing. When a dungeon was cleared, the system would assess the contribution and distribute rewards differentially. Most dungeons were considered “easy achievements,” granting a bonus stat of +3 and around 100 Monster Stones. Depending on the clearing contribution, the reward could range from +1 to +3, or in some cases, no reward at all. Each slayer would receive their share of Monster Stones in their own inventory.

In a coffee shop in downtown Seoul.

“Yes, because you cleared it alone, you couldn’t know about that rule.”

“Hmm…”

The Cyclops, which had first appeared in Korea, was literally a bug monster. It was an entity that exceeded the standards of the Normal Mode, an impossibility. However, the Cyclops in the dungeon was different. Although there were still casualties, it meant that even slayers entering the Normal Mode could slay the Cyclops in the dungeon. Pyeong-hwa looked at Hyun-seok with a slightly nostalgic expression.

“Most of the achievements are considered easy. There are slight differences, but the reward is around 100 Yellow Stones. But you know, there’s something else.”

“But why did you get so excited?”

“Me? Not at all.”

Hyun-seok smirked. During the previous Cyclops slaying, Pyeong-hwa had rushed all the way to Wonju. Compared to Hyun-seok, who moved by helicopter, she was naturally slower. Seeing her crying for his sake, Hyun-seok felt a subtle affectionate sentiment. Although he had met many women and slept with plenty of them, he had rarely experienced this strange feeling. He concluded that it was an unusual excitement for him, even though he had met many women but rarely experienced a proper relationship.

“I’m not lying. You’re just happy because you’re sitting here, looking at my handsome face.”

“W-What are you talking about!”

“Or maybe I made you so proud that you got excited?”

“It’s definitely not like that!”

“Really?”

“Really!”

“You want to bet? Tell me honestly. Am I making you proud?”

Pyeong-hwa’s face turned slightly red. She almost nodded her head without realizing it but quickly lowered it. She repeated three times, “No, no,” but her neck and ears turned completely red.

“Well… Before losing weight, you were cute and had a good personality. You must have been popular. You probably received many confessions and admirations. But you hardly felt attracted to anyone at first. It seems that you like the kind-hearted older brother figure… No, I don’t know what I doing now”

Hyun-seok shook his head in frustration. Programming and such didn’t seem to matter anymore. He felt like he just wanted to show himself as he was.

With a playful smile, Hyun-seok joked, “If you like someone, just confess that you like them.”

“T-That’s not it!”

“Then what is it? Geez, too bad. I’m disappointed. Really disappointed.”

Hyun-seok let out a deep sigh in an exaggerated manner, shoulders slumping. Pyeong-hwa was once again taken aback, not knowing what to do. Then suddenly, she quickly changed the topic.

“Oh, by the way, I heard that the original price of Yellow Stones was 200 million won, but it increased to 300 million due to the strong opposition from the Korean Union. Green Stones also rose to 130 million won.”

“Oh, that… I heard about it. It seems that Sung-hyung is taking care of it.”

Pyeong-hwa frowned.

“But don’t you have any benefits?”

“Benefits?”

“Yes. You’re like a symbol of the Korean Union. You’re also a hidden card that can be used for help in times of crisis. Thanks to you, the status of the Korean Union has greatly increased. In my opinion, you should definitely receive some benefits.”

“Well, Sung-hyung is already taking care of various things for me.”

“Is that so?”

Hyun-seok was receiving benefits from Sung-hyung. Of course, it wasn’t something known to the public. It was because Sung-hyung was providing those benefits to keep Hyun-seok attached to him. Hyun-seok didn’t pay any taxes on the income generated from Slaying. The Union covered it. Additionally, the Union couldn’t demand or order anything from Hyun-seok. They could only make requests.

“Even if the Union covers it… in the end, it’s Sung-hyung who personally gives me the money. The Korean Union isn’t particularly wealthy.”

Although the Korean Union may be large in size, it cannot be considered financially wealthy. The situation is different from the American Union. The American Union is a concept of integrating and managing American guilds, whereas the Korean Union is nothing more than a mere association.

Due to the fact that it is the Union leader and the major shareholder of (Company) Sori, who is already a top-tier Slayer, there are various financial supports that can be provided – such as paying money to Slayers or purchasing shares of Red stone in advance. It is simply a matter of having the conditions in place.

“Well… I’m not the one who suffers any loss.”

Considering the gains, it would be a loss. If Hyun-seok were to join the American Union, he would receive much greater profits and treatment than he does now. However, Hyun-seok chose to remain in the Korean Union. He looked beyond immediate gains and considered the future.

Currently, the slaying level in Korea is at the world’s highest level. In other words, the level of Slayers is exceptionally high. At present, the number of Slayers is relatively small, and the difference in strength between them and Slayers from other countries is not significant. However, it is uncertain how things will change in the distant future.
